First time here and was quite impressed! The burrito was yummy and so was the PB smoothie but definitely more banana tasting than PB. Would 100% come back

I've been here several times now for coffee, cake and breakfast. The place is OK, not a great atmosphere inside (quite cold) but with a nice terrace outside.
As for the food: I'm vegan myself, so I love that everything's vegan. The smashed avo toast I ordered was delicious. That said, my (non-vegan) family members were less impressed. The tofu scramble was very plain and the porridge my son had very coconutty.
When we came here for coffee and cake about a year ago, I remember we weren't very impressed with the cakes either. They were dry and not fresh.
So would I come here again? Yes, because I like to support vegan cafes. But I wouldn't bring my family here anymore.

Amazing cafe! Great vibe, great customer service, and great food. It's so nice to choose anything from the menu without having to worry if it's vegan.

Always love a visit to Power Plant. So many delicious vegan options and just a great place away from the hustle and bustle to have a nice meal. They have a good selection of gifts and snacks for purchase too!

I'll appreciate if you can mentioned what days of a week you are closed and timings when ordering.

We ordered a chocolate and raspberry cake for my daughter’s birthday. Everyone came up to me and told me it was delicious! We asked for a thin layer of frosting so it’s not too sweet and that was perfect. The process from ordering to pick up was also very smooth. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a vegan cake in the east!

The service is good, the atmosphere and layout is very good, and the beverages are also good.

However, some of the food seems a little lacking. This may simply be due to personal preference, but I had their tofu scramble. It was dry, and it had turmeric on it. To put a long story short, it was fairly unpleasant.

However, the chips on the other hand were very nice. I have had them twice now, the first time being the better experience. The chips were nice and crisp, with a smoky aioli. The second time, whoever cooked them didn't refry them enough, and some chips were a little overdone, whereas others hadn't actually been heated up quite as much and were only warm. Nevertheless, it still tasted fine.

Plant-based cafe located in Templestowe that worths a visit! @powerplant_cafe serves tasty vegan food and some beautiful drinks too.
Here we tried:
? Sweet Potato Waffle (blached asparagus, mushroom bacon, sour cream & chives, puffed wild rice, hazelnut, romesco sauce)
Brekkie Burger (brioche bun, hash brown, smashed avo, scrambled tofu and tomato & beetroot relish)
? Cherry Ripe Waffles (with Cherry Ripe Chocolate Bar)
? Iced Coffee (with coconut ice cream)

To start off the sweet potato waffle was great! It was tasty as all the elements are working harmoniously to create a beautiful dish. The mushroom bacon was the highlight - the texture and flavor was amazing. The waffle probably as not as fluffy as the regular non-vegan waffle but still moist and tasty nonetheless. Recommended!

The brekkie burger was another good one! The tomato and beetroot relish was to die for. It looked a bit messy for a burger, however, it was surprisingly very enjoyable to eat - would love to have the chips included rather than as an extra.

Perhaps the only dessert item when we visited the cafe - a must order if you are craving for sweet dish! Loving the combination of sweet and sour of the cherry ripe and the strawberry. Coming from a non-vegan background, perhaps what feels weird for us was the texture of the waffle, quite chewy, mochi-like texture, maybe the lack of butter or other ingredients.

Overall, we highly recommend this cafe for something different. Friendly staff, great vegan menu, love everything we've eaten here. There are plenty of seating outside as the inside tends to get busy.

Great food but slow service and can also get very busy at the coffee machine with walk-ins. Meals are a good size for the price. Lots of gluten free options available. They also offer cow's milk for coffee (only) to cater to non vegans - a definite plus for our family events needing to cater to everyone.

Great coffee, beautiful food, and lovely service. Can sit outside under umbrellas also which is good on a nice day.

Menu needs some adjustments and additions. The chips and hash browns are amazing though… would come back just for the chips.

Overly strict with covid rules. They rejected print screen of vax pass. Even though we all were jabbed we were refused. Ate down the road at Melissa’s which were fully welcoming. Will not be going back to power plant such a shame as I was looking forward to their vegan friendly menu.

Started out with Red Velvet Latte. Not bad at all. Their take on King Oyster was interesting and paired well with the provided sauce.

Would recommend for vegans.

Very Disappointing Again!

I've been here 3 times (this is my first review I just had to say something this time) and each time the food has been pretty lacklustre. I always try to give the benefit of the doubt but the third time was less of a charm then the previous two experiences - which in and of themselves were equally as bad.

The menu sounds exciting and the prices are quite high - which is fine if you get what is promised. I'm happy to pay $18 for "House made granola with coyo, dehydrated pear and seasonal berries" However what was delivered to the table was a bowl with coyo, so scarcely spread with granola it could’ve merely been there for decoration. I'd hardly call a tiny piece of rockmelon, a quarter of a FRESH pear sliced, a tiny piece of watermelon and a handful of grapes premium presentation. Where the "seasonal berries" were is a mystery and a sliver of dried apple must've been what I should have interpreted as "dehydrated pear" Substandard at the very least!

The only upside about this place is the staff and building. The service staff are friendly and go out of their way to help and offer suggestions.
It's unfortunate the kitchen seems to be ripping people off at every opportunity.

My two stars are for the atmosphere, dog freindly environment and staff who if not for them it would've been one star. No stars for the food!

An absolute gem of a cafe where everything on the menu is delicious. Make sure you order the chips! Have visited more than 10 times and will continue to come back.

Really spacious with a big indoor area and two outdoor areas. I especially love coming here in the afternoon when the sun streams through the windows, such a warming feel.

Ordered a triple layer, 8 inch Raspberry coconut cake. It was absolutely delicious. First event I've been too where literally all the cake was eaten.

Likes: I've been here before and really enjoyed the ability to choose from the menu without having to check ingredients. Does both brunch, lunch and cakes/sweets so easy to cater for whatever time you want to pop in. Staff were friendly, attentive, very tolerate of a toddler who couldn't sit still and service was quick. The long black coffee was nice and the raw mixed berry cheesecake was lovely although small for the price.

Could improve: With the large range of plant based cafes in Melbourne (and regional Vic) now available and many cafes doing really good plantbased options, PP feels like it hasn't quite evolved to differentiate itself from the others. The menu is rather limited and not particularly unique. I was looking forward to the sausage roll but unfortunately it was extremely dry and completely fell apart on the first cut so it was more chasing crumbs and flakes on my plate. My friend got a side of chips and she said it was over spiced and salted, she ended up scrapping the salt off each chip.

Giving 2 stars because overall I don't think the visit was value for the variety, quality and lack of wow factor. Venue was clean, bright and spacious but it did feel like it was lacking a vibe (no music and a bit cafeteria-like).

This place was lovely! Food and service were awesome, fabulous menu and specials. We had the notella waffles, breaky burger and avo smash. Absolutely delicious. If you're feeling like splashing out a little bit, go no further than this cute vegan cafe for your next instaworthy brunch!

I just love this cafe. I've been going there for literally years. The food is always so tasty and it's a regular for me. I'm always meeting friends there. They love it too.

I am addicted to their smoothies especially their Mr Peanut Butter one. Superb! Whatever recipe they use it's to die for. Their hot drinks are amazing too.

There is a great outdoor area where your dog is very welcome. They even have beds for the dogs to lie on. Just so awesome!

The staff are always so helpful and friendly.

I feel so grateful this beautiful vegan place is near me.
