Pondok Nasi Bakar reviews
35Love the food, delicious. Generous portion. The only drawback is the online ordering system can be a bit temperamental. Went twice, the first time it didn’t work at all and ended up ordering at the counter. Second time it worked, albeit not loading on my phone so had to use my wife’s phone, but PayPal option does not work so have to enter credit card details manually. Maybe the best is to keep it simple and get customers to just order in person at the counter rather than trying to be “too fancy” with technology.
Every menu with grilled are tasty. I surprised that you can find find good Indonesian food in Geelong, which you even hard to find them in Melbourne.
Nice clean place to dine in, great food! Very friendly staffs. Fauzan is the best, We had nasi bakar, grilled barramundi, beef rendang, grilled beef ribs all comes in big generous portion. Definitely will come again
The authentic flavours of Indonesia are well captured and delivered through the extensive menu of @pondoknasibakargrazeland
Everything is cooked in a traditional way and are packed with so many flavours that make each and every dish truly mouth watering and so irresistible.
The char grilled meats are truly mind blowing, juicy and so tender. Nasi Bakar with grilled beef ribs or grilled chicken are strongly recommended, each comes with steamed rice, sambal sauce, satay sauce, fried tofu and peanut fritters and salad. And for a spicy kick, Nasi goreng with chicken is a must.
The best part, the cost of each and every dish is so affordable yet the quantity is more than generous.
So visit @pondoknasibakargrazeland this weekend or the next at @grazeland.melbourne Spotswood for a delectable and a classic Indonesian feast.
Had chance to try their NASI BAKAR, PEMPEK PALEMBANG, KWETIAW SIRAM PONTIANAK, BAKMI PONTIANAK which is Mind Blowing! Traditional style indonesian food that very delicious and consistently great quality food. Very recommended to visit this restaurant!
Beautiful Indonesian food! Tried the Sate Kambing, Nasi Goreng, and their specialty — Nasi Bakar (rice seasoned with spices, wrapped in banana leaf and grilled on charcoal fire). Everything was SO DELICIOUS. The young man that looked after us was so lovely, very friendly and attentive.
Well I have only ever ordered takeaway delivery on the weekend. The best on I had was their weekend special nasi bakar kuning with anchovy and grilled chicken. Even after re-heating, the meal is still very good. I like how it is a set with small serving of vegetable and side dish like potato cake for under $20. Only thing is need to order $50 and above for delivery (+$5 fee) and delivery is set either Saturday or Sunday. Well consodering Geelong is an hour + away it is worth it for a good Indonesian taste!
Awesome! The best indo I have had since Yogya.authentic, great value, wonderful friendly service.a true gem.really really really yum
Came here for lunch and thought the food is good. Gado gado was good, like the sauce with it. Not a fan of their satay, felt it was undercooked. Not charred as you’d expect satay usually and the sauce was a bit weird. Ayam bakar was spot on. The sauce and the sambal combination is spot on. You can’t go wrong. Ayam bakar was ok, probably needed a bit more kremes along with it. Overall 7/10.
This restaurant is worth the trip from Melbourne to visit. Had Grilled Beef Ribs and Fried Duck (Surabaya), both were authentic and delicious. The Fried Duck reminded me of the good times back in the old days. So many other dishes to be explored. Til' next time PNB Geelong!
Been visiting since it first opened. Seen them weathered through this covid pandemic. Seems to have a little tweak in term of taste compared with previously which we thought was better.
Indonesian restaurant specializes in grilled rice where they wrapped the rice in leaf and grill it with some fillings too. It was fragrant and the chilli that comes with the chicken was spicy! The fried rice is decent, it was sweet and generous in portion. The satay was disappointing, it was small and the meat was tough.

Ordered their specials. The beef rendang, grilled chicken, grilled beef ribs and fried squid were up to the mark. The chilli sambal belacan is spicy hot - as it should be. A good place to go for authentic Indonesian food. The food was really good, very tasty and plenty of it. Excellent value. Overall a great place to go for a bite to eat.
I and my wife cannot have enough of the meals that are served from this place. We had our order delivered today and the quality is top notched particularly the grilled chicken with chilli pickle that comes with it. A highly recommended place for those who are searching for a high quality authentic Indonesian food.
