Pomonal Estate reviews
58Great food and great location. Ask for Rafa as he pointed us in the right direction for wines and ciders.well worth a stop along your trip. If you’ve never tried sparkling Riesling before, give it a go.
It’s a hidden Gem with breathtaking views, just 15 min drive to Halls Gap, well maintained villa with spacious living.a beautiful retreat not to be missed. We were welcomed with a bottle of vine, bread locally sourced strawberry jam and warm jacuzzi. The best part is that the place is run by two lovely Souls with a golden heart (Adam & Pip) our car broke down and they offered a night stay for free who does that? Will always remember this kind gesture. I m pretty sure they will go a long way. We wish them all the very best God bless!
We didn’t stay in the accomodation. We visited the restaurant for a wine tasting and a snack. OMG the best pumpkin bruschetta. We did the paddle board wine tasting. Amazing wines. We chose the Sangiovese Rose and the two Shiraz’s. Highly recommend.
Great value for for money at this place. $10 for a wine tasting paddle with 5 wines. Good staff service also. Loved it!
Lovely winery. Cosy fire, sofa and of course excellent food and drink. The lemon marangue pie is to die for. The citrus filling was tangy and sublime. It complimented the sweet marangue and buttery base. Cream was served on the side with a raspberry coulis. The beverages even came with a chocolate. My wife loved the $10 wine flier with 5 different wines. Well worth the visit.
We visited the Pomonal Estate today with some friends. Service was lovely, prices were great and the views were even better. To top it off we absolutely loved the food and tasting paddles! Would come back again.
Arrived for lunch after hiking to the Pinnacle, the special menu for the day was amazing, hearty spiced pumpkin soup, tasty prawns and chorizo, and rich cheesecake. Hits just right!
Friendly staff, lovely views, and not far from Halls Gap too.
Came here to experience a meal and drinks for a romantic occasion and it was so delightful! The atmosphere is warm and the view is beautiful. The service is so friendly and the food is delicous! There are so many vegetarian and vegan options! We got a cheese platter ($40) and it was packed full of flavourful foods. We tried the wine tastings and a cider tasting. Was such a fun and relaxing experience. Would definitely return!
Lunch at the winery, more of a restaurant feel than a winery but loved everything about it. I thought the tasting platter was expensive until it came out and realised I missed the bit in the menu that described it as for two to four people. It was very much worth it. Local fresh produce was amazing. Small winery with some different wines. Sparkling Reisling, who would have thought, so good I bought one. Staff were lovely,
Quite a lovely little cellar door with a good range of wines, ciders and beers. Good food and lovely friendly staff that made Scratt feel welcome
A large group of us celebrated dad’s 90th here with lunch yesterday. The food was divine and great value for money. The wines, ciders and beers were highly enjoyed by all.
The entire staff could not have been more helpful- nothing was too hard, everything was served with a smile
and a joke and in the most friendly and gracious manner. Particular shout out to Niall who was exceptionally helpful when we 1st arrived.
The restaurant got very busy as the day progressed but not once did the staff loose their smiles or pleasant nature.
But perhaps it was best summed up by dad in his 90th year who said as we were leaving “well that was terrific! If I’m still alive this time next year I vote we come back here for lunch again! ”
Somewhat misleading reviews. It’s fine. Somewhat dodgy Riesling and even dodgier tunes, but saved by a charming Brazilian lady. Wouldn’t say it’s the best winery in the region.
Stopped in for a nice coffee and staff were super friendly. It was great to just sit on the back deck and take in the magnificent views.
Great and friendly staff! Felt very welcomed and the food was absolutely delicious! Thank you so much we loved it
Very friendly and helpful with what I was aiming to taste also happy to suggest smaller wineries to try. Small business happy to help other businesses, glad to chat and learn
Nice location and friendly staff. Very quick service. Ordinary food. We tried all small plates- nothing outstanding.
Definitely a gem at the Grampians area, very relaxing, must try the local pulled lamb and cakes. Will recommend to friends
5 stars. Went here for lunch and had the best fish I have EVER had. Wine tasting was fabulous and the cheese was absolutely delicious. Excellent service and beautiful views. Wish I had known about this place a long time ago. Highly recommend.
Sadly an unpleasant experience. We ordered Asian greens which had a soapy chemical taste. Staff were dismissive, saying there was nothing wrong with them (they didn't taste them). We were not given a refund and we were not taken seriously. Also asked several times where drinks were, assured they were coming, third time told we had already received them! Sorry to have to give this review, as we value small local business and understand mistakes are made, but there is a way to deal with complaints and they certainly failed! In response to the owner. I wish to clarify, we only managed to get one lot of drinks, which we enquired about when the food came out, we asked do we have to go to the bar? , the waitress told us no they will be brought to the table. Sometime later we went to the bar and were told we already had them! When the waiter brought them out, I explained once again about the greens and he said I will arrange a refund. We were there for another hour, but nobody came back to organise it. We felt terribly uncomfortable! Parts of the greens definitely had a detergent chemical taste. The barman was rude in his responses, the owner had plenty of opportunity to approach us, to discuss the the matter. We didn't insist on a booking, if you are busy, don't take the booking. Overall I feel your customer relations are sadly lacking and until you learn to deal with small complaints, you will struggle to run a business! Please send me an email address so you can process the the refund.
The wine and the cheese platter were sensational! The venue has some amazing views and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. There's a great variety of different wines and it was simply perfect pairing the wines with the cheese looking out into the distance. An amazing end to the day and a wonderful afternoon. Staff were fantastic.
