Really gorgeous event space for balls or weddings. Great food and vibe I would definitely go again.

This is such a beautiful and elegant venue for a special function. I was here for the Starlight fun raiser as a volunteer to help children with serious illness and to grant them the special wishes. The Starlight Foundation always looks for new volunteers for these special events.

The Plaza Ballroom provided our organisation with exemplary service, food and beverages for our awards gala night. I highly recommend the Plaza for any special occasion.

An amazing iconic venue in the heart of the city. Beautiful provenance and dates back to the 1920s and captures all the glitz and glamour of the point end of town. Excellent live band Baker boys with a wide repertoire and an excellent auctioneer rounded off the excellent food and a great result for a very worthy charity. Money well spent

The Plaza Ballroom is a classy venue with a real sense of period history. I attended a work Christmas party and it was perfect. I'd imagine it would also be great for big weddings or other special ocassions.

Incredible beautiful setting and amazing staff. If there is ever an event here i recommend you go.
And yeah events here can cost a decent amount but I believe it's worth every dollar.

The Plaza Ballroom is located in the basement level of the Regent Theatre. It's an elegant upscale venue with amazing, sumptuous decor, in the centre of the city. The entire interior is amazing and has been immaculately restored to its former glory since it was rediscovered as a derelict water sodden dump of a basement back in the 1980's.
If you've never been there to an event, it's worth going in to have a look see at the incredible detail of the ornate interior if they have an open day.
Staff are fantastic and the food is amazing, right up there with the best fine dining restaurants.
Entrance is via Collins Street, at a side door to the Regent Theatre down a long flight of elegant winding stairs.

Amazing service, and food, in this most famous and beautiful venue. Considering the Moulin Rouge was happening above us, the Plaza Ballroom managed a big wedding beautifully, down below in the ballroom. Well done.the best wedding I have been to, and the service and food had a lot to do with that. Also the amazing Footmen at the front doors who supported my elderly dad, and went out of their way. Thank you.

The Plaza Ballroom, is one of Melbourne’s most iconic venues, located in Collins Street at the Regent Theatre. They specialise in Corporate Functions, Special Events and Weddings.

I was at an event here and (yeah, Ive been to so many events, ha!) everything here was memorable, service was impeccable, the staff are so courteous and very attentive. Food is insanely good and the event space is outstanding

We recently did our wedding reception at Plaza Ballroom and it was absolutely exquisite, we highly recommend it! The venue is amazing, the staff have an extraordinary level of customer service and they have such incredible attention to detail. This is not your average wedding venue, this venue is exceptional in every way. Our wedding co-coordinator Lauren (and Katrina at the beginning) were so patient and helpful the whole time. We even attended a wedding at plaza after ours as guests and they surprised with a dessert which said 'welcome back, ' which was so beautiful and just goes to show they really think of everything and go above and beyond. Also we had so many of our wedding guests tell us that the staff was the best they'd experienced. If you're considering this as your wedding venue, don't think twice. Five star all the way!:)

You will never find a better wedding venue in Melbourne. Our experience at the Plaza Ballroom from start to finish was nothing short of PHENOMENAL. The calibre of staff is exceptional and the venue itself is STUNNING, UNIQUE, MAGICAL to say the least. We would totally marry each other at this venue again, if we could!

FOOD:
The food is a high level fine dining degustation experience! All our guests were raving on about how it was by far the best wedding food they've ever had. The Executive chef for Plaza Ballroom, David Ricardo, and his team create the most mouthwatering and delightful dishes. Not only did he thoroughly take us through our pre-wedding tastings & was open to modifying dishes to our liking, but even on the day of our wedding when there were troubles with setting up our wedding cake, he himself came out to help. We can only wish that Plaza Ballroom operated also as a restaurant so we can go back to eat the food regularly!

VENUE
You really gotta see this place to understand its beauty. It's so.classical, grand, unique and.royal! Extremely spacious and comfortable to be in. No where else in Melbourne will you see a venue with this kind of classical European style beauty. Not to mention that Plaza ballroom is also a heritage venue with a long standing history, and also only holds a maximum 16 wedding events per year! - where else are you going to find something like this? It’s maintained in pristine condition and walking in just makes you feel like you’ve been teleported elsewhere. We got to meet some members of the set up team, Tyrone & Jackson, who listened to what we wanted and did their best to accommodate our vision of how our wedding was to be set up. And honestly, the day of our wedding when we first walked in to see the venue, our jaws just hit the floor. Although we had been to the venue a number of times prior, the venue on the actual day was just something else.

AUDIO VISUAL
You will be fully immersed and mesmerised by the lighting, visuals and sound system this venue has to offer. Production manager Michael and his team (Brooke, DJ, Nathaniel) know what they're doing and they're damn good at it! Our wedding was brought to life by their ability to synchronise and plan out all of our the audio/visual requirements. Michael was extremely flexible, patient and willing bend over backwards for us and we cannot thank him and his team enough for how beautiful our wedding has turned out. Our wedding ended up being a professional high end production and it would never have happened if it wasn't for the work of these guys behind the AV desk!

WAIT STAFF
You don't understand "well-trained" wait staff until you experience the service provided by the wait staff at Plaza Ballroom. Each and every one of our guests was served and looked after like members of the royal family. They were attentive, polite, efficient and always greeted guests at the tables with a smile. We felt this even during our exclusive menu tasting – staff here do not skimp on anything no matter what. Georgia (venue operations manager) make everything on the day run like clockwork. She organised her staff well and our night could not have run any better!

EVENTS MANAGEMENT
We can’t thank Lauren enough for her expertise in putting together what was the most extravagant and phenomenal wedding we could ever ask for. She was attentive to detail, never missed a thing during our year-long preparation (I don’t know how she does it) and covered all aspects of our evening to the T! Every email sent, every meeting we had, every discussion on the phone we were always greeted with positivity and the willingness to do everything she can to make us happy. We will definitely miss working with her.

The plaza ballroom has the most magnificent team of people who work SO hard to make our event a dream come true. The level of professionalism here is hard to match. I cannot stress enough how blown away you will be by holding your event at this premium venue, especially those like us who have high expectations – you will not be disappointed here!

Stunning venue. As a wedding guest, we had a wonderful night. Great hospitality, excellent service and meals were exceptionally delicious.

Had a great night here for Royal Flying Doctor Service dinner. Venue is "different" but good, food was good and service was very good. Would recommend it for any special "up market" function you would be proposing.
