I'll start by saying the food was excellent and delicious. The rest was pretty much a train wreck. Music so loud you couldn't hear the person across from you. We did ask to turn down but that was met with a nasty look to our table from the kitchen and the volume didn't change anyway. Perhaps this is why the wait staff couldn't correctly hear our order and had to come back to the table repeatedly to check what we'd ordered.

One of our party was left waiting without their meal, and after asking for its whereabouts, they were given a totally different pizza. Our dessert came out but wasn't correct either but by this stage we just gave up. Sorry guys, going elsewhere next time.

What more can you say, super friendly staff, great food, we had the calamari, arancini, and braised lamb pizza, and choc brownie and ice cream, all were very well cooked and tasty, and as always great ambiance, loved the music, this place is always fun …good times, Keep up the great work!

Woodfire Pizza delicious, pasta was so, so.
Lovely traditional pizzas with light toppings focusing on the balance of Italian cuisine, while pasta was unsure whether it was traditional or western as the Carbonara and Beef Ragu we had ordered was overly creamy (sauce like) in case of the carbonara or overdone with what seemed more like a meatball ragu.

Would definitely give another shot, and pizzas are fantastic.

The best pizza in Geelong hands down. Great atmosphere, lovely staff - it's popular with locals for a reason.

I don't think I should tell you about this place, incase it gets too busy! The pizza was absolutely amazing! Classic wood fire with plenty of toppings! Also such a great variety of toppings. Honestly the best woodfire Pizza in Victoria. Friendly staff and a great dine in aesthetic and atmosphere.

After receiving two incorrect orders in a row, as loyal customers we reached out directly
to Pizza Bar with some friendly feedback - particularly because one of the errors was a very heavily salted salad that made people in my family unwell. We eventually received a response where the manager sought to blame Deliveroo - but this didn’t hold up as both orders had been placed directly with Pizza Bar after we had seen them slam Deliveroo on their website and had wanted to support local businesses during the COVID as best we could. Pizza Bar offered a credit for our orders which they then didn’t bother to provide. When I followed this up, I was met with utter disdain and arrogance by the manager who proceeded to tell me how he was too busy with opening a second location to care. I’d encourage everyone to support nicer business owners within the Geelong area and give Pizza Bar a miss. The owners responses to reviewers is evidence enough they don’t deserve the support.

Weird experience. I ordered online through the app, pizza will be ready in 55min. Great! Went to pick it up only to be told that they will start cooking it now.so i had to wait another 30min? I understand its weird times and you are under staffed, but I just didnt understand this logic? I questioned this but Mitchell was quite rude and snappy and gave me no answer but "im too busy for this"

I am all for supporting local businesses, but when the customer is not treated with respect, how can you expect respect?

Im hoping it was a one off experience and maybe a better plan of attack next time. Take the app down? Phone off the hook until you catch up with orders?

I will say, pizza was lovely.

Unfortunately pizza was burnt and hardly any topping, very small, burnt seafood taste was nasty.

The best restaurant! The food here is so delicious. Fresh, unique, authentic Italian food. The chefs and front of house are incredibly dedicated towards providing an unforgettable experience. The ambience is cozy and the music just fills the remaining gap to call it the best restaurant! P. S.the cocktails are a must have here too.

My partner and I visited Pizza Bar last night to order some takeaway. We’re fairly new to Geelong so had never tried this place before.
I must say a huge thank you to the lovely man that took our order and looked after us. I’ve since found out his name is Mitch. We had bought a couple of drinks to wait for our food outside but a slight delay resulted in us staying to eat instead. I know everyone in hospitality are working their butts off at the moment and having to deal with so many issues, they were very busy when we arrived, but Mitch was so attentive and couldn’t have been more friendly to two new customers just ordering some takeaway.
The food was just delicious. A really sophisticated and unique pizza menu with some gorgeous appetisers. We can highly recommend the three cheese pizza, crispy popcorn prawns and the calamari with toasted sumac chickpeas and watercress. The yummy churros at the end finished a wonderful and surprising meal. Huge thanks to Mitch and the team for your amazing service and the rare ability to make us feel like the only people in the restaurant.

There’s so many restaurants that serve great food but outstanding and memorable service makes you unforgettable.

We look forward to returning very soon.

Delicious pizzas, our Friday night ritual! Love the bases - so much better than the alternatives in Geelong.

Good food but always under estimate the time it takes for pick-up orders to be ready. Not once has an order been ready when they say it will and I have waited minimum 10 minutes and as long as an hour longer that stated. Food is good but not worth the extended and very frustrating wait. I'd suggest Pizza bar simply be honest if you are busy and it will take a while for food.

Unfortunately we had a two hour wait for pizza delivery this week after the app had quoted 55minutes. Pizzas were okay, but I don't think we'd be prepared to wait that long again.

I’ve never had a bad meal from Pizza Bar, take away or dine in (and we eat here a LOT). Staff are always lovely whether you’re dining in or they’re delivering to your door. Food is just amazing, nothing else really needs to be said. Recommend to everyone, don’t bother getting your pizza or pasta from anywhere else.

I have no idea why this place has so many good reviews. I hope I was simply unlucky and it is usually better, but frankly you cannot get much worse than this. I got curious about this place after reading two really negative reviews, so decided to try and I wish I never did. The only positive thing I found is that there are worse pizzas in the area (let's face it: Geelong is not the place to go for Italian food), but this does not mean much.
The prices of food are really high, which I would be fine with, if the quality was equally high. But no.
Environment: it's a joke. It's what you would expect in a film depicting Italy if the set designer had never been to Italy. Random crosses, Catholic imagery and paintings that no one in Italy would ever use or put together. I lived in Italy more than 25 years, so my opinion has some value. I don't doubt the owner got suggestions from someone with an Italian background, but, as I said, only people with a stereotypical understanding of Italy would decorate like that!
Menus: full of spelling mistakes in Italian (showing how "original" they are) and total misunderstanding of Italian food (I laughed a lot when I read what they think "secondi" are).
Pizzas: I already mentioned the price. Given that the pizza was poorly cooked and the ingredients really bland, I did not find any way to justify the cost.
Service: when I told (and showed) the waitress that the pizza was not cooked properly, she barely apologised and just left, without trying to fix the situation or at least ask if I needed it cooked in some other way.
From what I've seen in other negative reviews, now the owner will reply with some childish accusations (and childish grammar) that have nothing to do with what I've written and will behave unprofessionally to try and put the blame on me. He will probably also try to say that I should be ashamed to leave bad reviews when people need to work more, as if it was my fault that his restaurant is so bad. Well, believe what you want: the bottom line is that I cannot recommend enough to stay away from this place. If you feel like decent Italian pizza in an acceptable Italian environment, it is worth driving to Melbourne. If this place wasn't trying to pass for Italian it might have got another star, but their pathetic attempt to be Italian through stereotypes gets almost offensive.

If I could give a -5 I would. Absolutely disgusted by the service received from this restaurant. The fact that they still use delivery services to deliver their product, they dare to put A4 size letters, melted ontop of the pizza with a notice about how bad the deliver company is. That we shouldn't support them, but forget that we support their business through it and the poor driver trying to make a living too. The mere arrogance to put this letters in the pizza box, which is u hygienic and definitely not appreciated for supporting your establishment.

I wrote a review about this place before, but the owner replied and I felt I had to correct myself.
I was accused of defamatory behavior because I said some ingredients are not original. I should have said the products don’t taste as what is advertised. I do not know if I was unlucky and was served non-original products, if they cook them in such a way that the taste is lost, or what. I just know that what I was served as buffalo mozzarella and san Daniele, did not taste anything like the original. The owner says his wife and partner are Italian, as if this was evidence of good quality. Well, so am I. And I am Italian in a “I come from Italy and I have eaten the real product my whole life, including in other places in Australia” way. Their identity, which I respect, has nothing to do with knowing the difference between the real deal and something similar. Buffalo mozzarella has a significantly stronger taste and SD general taste is sweeter than what I got. So I apologise for giving the false impression that I was suggesting the owner might have been aware that I was not being served the genuine ingredient. I should have said my experience was below average because the very specific ingredients didn’t taste as they should have. I mentioned the issue to one of the waitresses the first time I went. My criticism went unheard, given that, when I went back, those ingredients tasted (and I am not saying they were, but to me, the person expressing their OPINION, they tasted) as fake as the Italian spirit I saw when stepping in the restaurant. Therefore, a public, polite review is only fair.

After accusing me of defamation and pulling the“I can sue you”card, the owner suggests I came from Melbourne to eat and then says I have broken lockdown laws. He obviously does not take into consideration that if I was living in Melbourne, I wouldn’t go to an “Italian” restaurant in Geelong. Furthermore, if they take Covid rules seriously, as he claims, how would have I been able to eat there, given that they would have definitely asked me for ID, as they are supposed to? Luckily, I live in regional Victoria, so his accusation of me having broken the law falls as flat as the taste of the mozzarella I was served as buffalo.

Later, the owner tries to guilt-trip me by saying that a lot of people can lose hours of work because og my review. This is as inaccurate as the spelling of some of his dishes. Does he know that he is advocating for silencing negative reviews that are just a law of the market? After all, if only positive reviews were allowed, he would take customers from other restaurants, so wouldn’t he be responsible for the loss of their jobs? I assume he doesn’t mind this law of the market. To quote him, his demand to silence negative reviews “will end up affecting[. ]staff members who have gone through hell[. ]To kick people whilst they're down, trying to recover from 4 lockdowns is quite frankly un Australian”. I will refrain from mentioning the irony of him calling me un-Australian (implying that non-Australian people, like me and some of his other customers, do sneaky and immoral acts to damage others) and then doing the same thing, indirectly.

The owner does not reply to my opinion that they overcharge for what they offer, that the environment is the caricature of an Italian restaurant, and that the menu is full of wrong categorizations of foods and misspellings. He mentions that some recipes come from Nonna M. I don’t know if she is a real person or the perpetration of an Italian stereotype about how nonne cook and their names. However, I know that her recipes are either wrong, or were modified in a manner that Italians would not recognise in any other way than “fake Italian”.
If the owner knows averages and reviews, he’ll know I’m not going to destroy his business with a review too long to be read by anyone who’s not a fan of internet drama or by someone looking for self-validation and should work on their stereotypes and ego.

And now he won't reply, but try to minimize me attacking the fact I answered and not what I said.
