Pimm Thai Cafe Kensington reviews
50I have been dining at Pimm Thai for years, I still remember when they opened. Amazing place, fantastic food and the best service you can ask for. Chris is absolutely fantastic. From dining in or take away. Nothing is too much for them.
Fantastic food and super friendly service every time! Some of the best Thai food you’ll find in Melbourne
- Thai fried rice 5/5
- pad se ewe 5/5
- lemongrass stir fry w chicken 5/5
- Thai green curry 5/5
- vegetable spring rolls 5/5
- squid 5/5
Fabulous food and excellent service (always with a smile regardless of how busy they get). We often share a table of the starters for our meal, they're that good.
Authentic Thai food with great customer service. Feels like your are ordering food in Thailand!
Some of the best Thai food I’ve ever had, very tasty. Great service and atmosphere as well!
The food and service were great and the decor is lovely. My only criticism is the horrible stools. I have a back injury and my partner is quite tall, so the very low stools with no back to them were terribly uncomfortable for both of us. I had to swap with another person at our table. Please think about replacing them with proper chairs. I don't imagine anyone would find the stools preferable to chairs. Apart from that, I couldn't fault anything.

REVIEW:
Food and drink wise:
- The salads were my favourite! They have that tanginess that's just a burst of flavour in your mouth.
Would recommend this still.
- The coconut rice was a little bit dry, but I let them know. Complete opposite experience to my first time when it was too soggy!
- The thai milk tea wasn't too sweet, which meant I could drink so much of it without feeling that energy high!
Service was so personable and friendly. The gentleman does a great job at providing such a warm and inviting atmosphere. The seats were up against the wall, which meant we could bring a little 7 month old and he could still join in with the dinner festivities as he was laying down.

REVIEW:
It's a really good Thai place in the local area. My mother and my favourite dishes were the soft shell crab & the coconut ice cream.
Perfect crispy soft shell crab which showcases its iconic sweetness when it's paired with the thai, tangy, green apple salad. It's a fantastic combination.
Then the coconut icecream has a light sweetness, with a slight nutty flavour that is so fragrant. It's one of the best coconut ice creams around and would highly recommend this!
As for the other dishes, my mother and I found that:
- Tom Yum Goong could be thinned out. Previously, the I've had the soup is more watery which is the perfect consistency. Felt like it was too salty.
- Too much cumin in the pineapple fried rice. Really bordered onto Singapore Noodle kind of punchiness, and the rice was too moist for me. Needed to be drier.
- Black Sticky rice was okay, but I'm more used to it being less glutinous like in Vietnamese desserts. Still not a bad choice to eat with the coconut ice cream though!
Service is friendly with bright smiles, and it's great to dine inside.
Great food, great service, the only thing which is so small was the lights are very bright, not so good for a date night lol
Great atmosphere, presentation, cleanliness, friendly staff and most importantly amazing food.
Definitely recommend the place.
Love Pimm Thai Cafe. Chris and the team are fabulous and the food is sensational. Prices are reasonable. Such a lovely ambience in this quaint but contemporary setting. We have moved to the Mornington Peninsula but still take the time to head back for special dinners at Pimm Thai. Highly recommend!

My favorite thai at the moment. Full of flavour and freshness. Homely, warm vibe with lovely service.
Delicious! And I enjoyed the small cafe atmosphere. In the photo: pad Thai noodles with beef (front) ; Tom Yum soup (left) ; Thai fried rice with chicken (back)
Some of the most amazing Thai food I’ve ever had. Highly recommended! Any dish it’s all great. From roti to pad thai yum!
Amazing food every time! We love the cute restaurant, the family owned and ran business and the tasty food!
Super friendly staff, wonderful service and newly renovated space looks fantastic can't wait for puride dining when it's warmer
Wow! That Tom Yum hits the spot during these wintry days!
Service with a smile, the staff were amazing!
Don't bother. Despite the restaurant having no customers I order food and a drink and after 10 minutes nothing. Go back inside to ask for my drink and waitress seems to have completely forgotten I even made an order. Absolutely hopeless.
We’ve never been disappointed with the quality of food, freshness, fair pricing and portion serving. Prob our fave Thai place in the area! Thanks for your amazing & authentic food Pimm Thai Cafe!
