Piedimonte's Supermarket & Liquor, North Fitzroy

Was sad to hear of their impending redevelopment. Most of the charm of the place comes because it feels authentically part of the community, like your grandparents place, right down to the brown veneer wood panels. But they seem to want to be Woolworths or Coles.

One of the best supermarkets in Melbourne with a market place feel so absent in many others. Staff are friendly and helpful and go upstairs for coffee and even more shopping. Excellent deli, fruit and veg plus much more.

Great range of food, especially good deli and bakery sections. Has a much wider range of beans, grains, pasta, herbs and spices etc.compared to most supermarkets.

Nice alternative to big names. Much better selection especially if you like niche foods. Expect to pay a little bit more

Great deli. But we all know it's a pricey supermarket. Check items on special, they often charge you full price at the register. I've shopped at this store for 25 year's and will in the future. Hope the renovation and apartments dont destroy it.

My local grocery store. The prices aren't the cheapest, and the configuration of the store leaves a lot to be desired (amirite!) but the range of products and customer service is great and its nice to have a local supermarket that isn't owned by those Coles dogs. Would 10/10 recommend the FRESH Turkish bread (located near the deli!) ;)

Average small supermarket. Decent delu but everything is very expensive. Coles is much cheaper, even for identical products.

Best supermarket. Love it and its sister store in Pascoe Vale. Fantastic friendly service and best deli ever.
