Piedimonte's Supermarket & Liquor, North Fitzroy reviews
68Immediately made to feel welcome at the cafe by the lady behind the counter who charmingly demonstrated not only a high degree of hospitality but also a high degree of multi-functionality. The coffee was of a good quality, the complimentary doughnut was yummy and the price very reasonable. Staff and owners of more up market street-side cafes would do well to visit this place to experience a demonstration of old-fashioned customer service panache.
I dropped in to pick up some flowers out and took them to the counter, I was told immediately to put my money on the counter,? She refused to pick up the money with her hands? I asked her the difference between using a credit card and money, people still handle credit cards?
And what about the flowers that were handled by her? Totally paranoid!
If she was that concerned why not wear gloves instead of being rude and abrupt.staff need to be taught some manners and not bully people
Best old school supermarket on Earth. Also best sausage rolls in Melbourne. And unlike everything else these days they haven't changed the recipe in over 25 years. When you find something that good.eat it.
The staff is ok but get treated very badly and the shop is very small and pricey needs to be renovated cause it’s still in the 90s the car park has that many potholes it could wreck your car so be careful
I appreciate the product range. Couldn't go without my Black and Gold oats during my poor days.
You're a real asset to the community.
Deli is wonderful. Lots of great salamis and cheeses. Fruit and vege.a little expensive but the quality is exceptional, so worth the extra cost. You would get 5 star if it wasn't for the Ciabatta Puglese as it is sometimes like a brick, overcooked and bitter.
Such a great supermarket. So many (and I mean SO many) vegan options throughout. It's definitely worth checking out.
Love this place - Italian charm with a wonderful selection of liquor, and they have a good range of organic/health foods, too. Fresh flowers always available, and you can get great coffee up top in the cafe next to the newsagents. There are often sweet doggies waiting out front who might let you pet them!
Excellent. A bit pricey but good range and plenty of options. Liked the deli cheese section particularly. Also good fresh produce and fruit.
I love going to Piedimontes in north fitzroy as it always has interesting imported items that you cant get at woolworths or coles. It has a variety store upstairs which is fabulous. I can get my bialetti parts there for my stove top moka espresso pot. Lots of great italian imported food. You can buy coffee upstairs. Lovely flowers to be bought downstairs. Liquor shop. Oh and most importantly the delicious range of half priced donuts, long Johns etc. After 6 pm
Constantly having to check the expiration date on eggs and cheese. My latest batch of eggs had a two day shelf life.
Some things change but not piedimontes every thing you need in one place good vibe nice people working there
Great deli section and well priced can food (e.g. Tomatoes) but some of the fresh fruit and vegetables are substantially more expensive than the main supermarkets.
Everything from the parking lot through to the check out lanes felt tight and overly cramped. We did not find the prices competitive at all and for those reasons we will not be returning.
Pretty good grocer with everything you'll need. However, they do enforce a bag waiting area that is frankly stereotyping teenagers and is very clearly a form of discrimination.
A local supermarket that reflects the Italian heritage of the area, that while not the cheapest has a great range of specialty items, bakery onsite and deli to cater for its diverse clientele.
Great selection of deli Bakery and alcohol.experienced amazing customer service. The only reason for giving four star would be less sitting upstairs in the cafe for customers, half of the tables are taken by their own staffs.
Friendly staff. Nice coffee. Quality produce and big variety of goods available, it's your one stop shop
Its a supermarket. An expensive supermarket but a supermarket. It has the essentials, but I wouldn't recommend going for your weekly shop. Just for little bits and pieces when you're short on time and need to pop to the shops.
This place has literally everything. We go here if we want to treat ourselves to good quality food. It is slightly more expensive than your standard Coles or Woolies but it's worth it for the quality. Remember to go upstairs and see what they have up there too!
