Pho Thao Vietnamese Restaurant reviews
23Only did take away. The food was very hot and very tasty. Didn't have to wait very long.
Got this for a last minute meal and it was AMAZING the food is fresh and flavourful. If you’re down at Rosebud definitely give this place a try. This is some of the best food I have gotten in a while definite 10/10
Service is slow, but be patient, well worth the wait. Pho was fantastic, Rice Vermicelli also fantastic. Cheapest meal in the area
Bit of a stretch to call this Vietnamese food. Heavy batter on the salt and pepper squid, satay chicken was practically peanut butter and the lemongrass chilli beef 50% onion. All food was tasty just not what normally used to for viet food. It wasn’t horrible but I wouldn’t rave about it. BYO wine was a win.
My wife and I were craving Vietnamese down the Peninsula so we searched for a Vietnamese restaurant. We came across Pho Thao Vietnamese restaurant.
We ordered the Vietnamese pancake (Banh xeo), Salt and Pepper chicken ribs with a side of rice and the Lemongrass Beef Vermecelli. Everything came out at a good pace and hot.
From a crispy pancake, to fresh, aromatic and flavourful lemongrass beef vermecelli to juicy salt and pepper chicken ribs.
Look, it's never like your mother's cooking but we walked out full and happy. You could definitely say we are satisfied customers.
Thank you to the brother working the front of the restaurant. Was a pleasant visit. Hope to see you guys around for a long time.
Hot spicy Pho combination was great after a day in the water. Yummy food, fast service, great ambient music. Our new favourite in Mornington Peninsula after a day of diving!
Best Vietnamese food on the peninsula. The staff are very friendly and the food is the best you can get. Never been dissatisfied, thank you
Just picked up 4 chicken pho takeaway for family isolating with Covid, the owner was so sweet he helped deliver packaged takeaways to my car. Everyone was so delighted with this feel good delicacy. Would highly recommend - thanks for being there we really appreciate the flavours. Just what you need when feeling low. The ideal comfort food.
The restaurant was very clean, the service was professional and quick, the meals came straight out, the meat and veg were fresh and delicious. The chef came out to greet us, honestly the best Vietnamese restaurant I've been to in a long time. We will go back the next time we're in town, thank you so much for looking after us so well.
After a taking a dive with the negative reviews, I regretfully decided to take a punt with this establishment. The service was good (one girl handling the whole front of house) but the food was terrible. Pork chop was good. Rice was stale, chicken tasted like an antique and left feeling like we should have just gone to mc Donald's. Please avoid, don't make the same mistake we did.
Lovely staff, working really hard! But.the food in pretty average- no herbs, not very fresh, didn’t taste much like Vietnamese.
- avoid rice paper rolls (99% vermicelli and no herbs or flavour at all)
- papaya salad had no papaya, just a sweet sugary sauce
- waited 40 mins for take aways (but she gave us free drinks to apologise)
- not a great dining experience if you’re dining in (we didnt) flashing string lights, plastic decor, no music
- satay noodle was good though!
I really enjoyed everthing we had, pho is excellent. Very friendly staff.
I will come back
Very disappointed with this restaurant. Slow service and when your soup arrives no condiments such as bean shoots chilli etc.
Certainly not authentic.
Really awful! Food and service!
Not going back there again. Difficult to communicate so some of our food orders were not even written down and we waited, only to find out our orders weren't even ordered!
I've only had there food two times, so far I'm liking it alot! I had their Crispy chicken salad and that was a really tasty salad. Some might say that there's better Vietnamese I don't know. I personally like their food and I would recommend them. I can only speak for myself. But do check them out.
Good luck to new restaurant in Capel Sound. Very polite and eager to please customers. Our first take away for three people was right on the mark. We will order again soon.
Unfortunately it was a long weekend and the restaurant was overawed in my view, unfortunately they chose quantity over quality, most of the food was underdone and a disgrace to good vietnamese cuisine, typical of asian restaurants trying to cope with takeaway orders and struggling to satisfying their tables, can't put it down to anything but greed, unfortunately they are the losers in the end.
Food is Average and compared to other Vietnamese Restaurants Not well Priced
Special Fried Rice $15 for not a large amount better at Noodle Box twice as much for $13
Pho is goodish but More expensive
than lots of other similar places
Could be so much better.
