Pho Kim Long reviews
65One of the best phở (if not the best) restaurant in Greater Melbourne area. You can tell that they don't add MSG to their food.
Stopped by here on way home, took a detour into this place to see. Service was very very good, attentive, quick, and did not try to upsell, gave good advice and offered options to accommodate single diner. Also has a nice family feel, and calm. Had the half serving of prawn spring rolls, a medium rare beef pho, and a jackfruit smoothie, wish they would do a durian smoothie. Servings were huge, all the add ons were very fresh and generous as well. The pho was good, well above average. All this cost 31 dollars, great, will definitely drop by again.
I've been a loyal customer at this establishment for years, and it continues to be the best! The food is served promptly, and the staff is always friendly.
We tried chicken pho, pork with rice, and pork spring rolls. The food was great, and drinks were alright.
The restaurant is always full. But, for me the taste of pho is just ok and affordable it is just $15 for a small portion.
Sometimes, I’ve visited this restaurant for months at a time; every time was fine. Yesterday evening, the worst thing happened was the soup tasted sour and the noodles were broken. I had asked the man at counter to look at the bowl. He ignored our request and stated that the noodles were freshly cooked today. We paid for them, leaving the bowls of pho.
Amazing Pho and its in St Albans, easy to access area just off the freeway. The pho itself is jam packed, I mean really good portion size plus they give bean shoots and chilli. The condiments and sauces are plenty, for a tiny shop it's actually spacious and always busy. Best part it's a pho restaurant that also has has sides and meat with rice dishes. Loved it
Update:
Same menu, new pricing.
Ordered the Special Beef Noodle Soup again. This time, the dish had more toppings than the last visit and no fatty brisket pieces. The meats were still very thinly sliced. Broth is still good.
Now there is a small container of pickled onions at each table, rather than having to ask for it previously.
Last Visit:
Long way to travel for Pho. We were told that this was the bees knees of Pho.
Ordered 2x Special Beef Noodle Soup (Pho). Yes, the broth is good, it has good “body” and depth of flavour - the pho is good but the pho we have had in Richmond is good enough without the distance plus also like 15-20% more in quantity and quality is good enough. Admittedly - the broth here did have more “body”.
The raw beef, beef balls, tripe, tendon, brisket were sliced thinly versus chunks and thickly sliced at other places. Might look like a lot - described as generous by other reviewers but in fact, the overall dish is about 15-20% less in quantity with toppings and noodles - same price. Also, the brisket was a little fatty.
Service was friendly and quick. If you like pickled onions with your Pho - you’ll have to ask for it. Not offered unless requested.
Dropped a tea cup on the floor, picked it up and used it for the next customer who walkrd through the door
Pho flavouring on point, tasted like home cooking! Had a regular sized no. 7 Special Beef Noodle Soup. Found the meat to be too thinly shaved even with the brisket and there wasn't much meat, mostly noodles and broth. I'll ask next time if they offer double the meat. The pork spring rolls were tasty and decent sized.

Good service and nice food. But it's a bit small when we sit inside the restaurant. Just come only one time. It's not my choice again.
The best in the West of Vietnamese's pho, always go there enjoy the food and atmosphere. ️
So this is supposed to be the best phở in St Albans but it’s never really grown on my family for some reason. The broth is quite different from what we’re used to. It’s definitely tasty, but perhaps too salty and has a bit too much going on. The servings are very generous though.
Highly recommend this place! We had the Special Beef Pho’ and the BBQ Chicken. The broth of the Pho’ has a savoury and aromatic flavour perfect for my liking, and you have to try their BBQ Chicken it was flavoursome. The service was very good too, you don’t wait long for your meal. Cheers
This is by far the best Pho place in all of Melbourne Metro. Even better than Richmond. I last came here almost 9 years ago and they are still just as good and the serving size is still the same. The only difference is that back then a medium bowl cost $11 and today it costs $15. That's inflation for you, but still a pretty good price for what you get. I love this place because it seems like only people that know of it's existence will come inside as it sometimes looks closed and it's small. I hate the big places that are packed with people as it's quite intimidating and too many people around bothers me. This place is cozy and comfortable with only a handful of people inside. Still busy but bearable and you don't feel rushed and don't feel like you're being watched. And the menu is really simple and small. I love how they don't have too many things to choose from because that means that they focus on making a few dishes great. If there are too many items then it's hard to make everything good. Quality over quantity is what I believe in.
Very tasty, good serving size, waiter ensured that we understood what we were ordering (that shredded pork contained pork skin).
Awesome place as most of alfredia st is. Love a pho there 20$ with a drink.cheaper then cooking at home great for a hangover
Delicious food great variety and friendly staff to follow, was very happy with the fresh and delicious dinner. Thank you
There is no veg in the rice dishes (Bò lúc lắc or cơm tấm đặc biệt). Soup was from Pho not normal soup so doesn't go with these dishes.
There is a hair in the rice of bò lúc lắc dish.
Pho's soup has a lot of MSG.
