Pho Bo Ga Mekong Vietnam reviews
54I had the sliced beef soup, which I think was 3.5 stars, lacked flavour and tasted like it was missing depth. The beef was a little tuff, limited noodles. Overall the service was quick with lots of condiment options, had to ask for fresh chilli. You have the option to order at your table via an app or pay cash. Much cleaner than other pho soup places, with disposal cups for your tea and chop stick and a soup spoon provided with you meal.
I came there for takeaway food. Today one staffs was rude attitude and laughed on customer face. I was feel so terriblely bad from the lady!
Worst staff services (Vy)
BEST borken rice I ever had in the CBD in Melbourne definitely higly recommended this place i wish they a bedroom or like a hotel so i can sleep there and eat there like broken rice for breakfast if you haven't this place go to this place right now!
It tastes really good, but I walked out of there with a headache from all the MSG they put in it and I didn’t even consume the soul - only ate the meat. If MSG doesn’t affect you, then go for your life. But, as someone sensitive to MSG, I won’t be returning. (They don’t have a non-MSG option)
Pho is alright, but they really need to cook and cool their vermicelli properly. I have had 3 vermicelli salad bowls in a row on different days which had warm and not fully cooked vermicelli. I understand this might be a more rarely ordered dish so the vermicelli is cooked in a hurry instead of prepared ahead but they used to do it the proper way: (The deep fried chicken that goes with the salad is great tho
We tried this restaurant about 3 years ago. My friends and I felt that all the staffs are quite polite and food taste are quite good.
However, we went to there our again two months ago. All the things have been changed since food taste are quite different from before with bad service, impolite and extremely rudeness staffs.
Never suggest anyone to come this restaurant.
Delicious food, fair price, it's a little crowded inside the restaurant. Be prepare to queue up outside the restaurant (they have lots of customers). Despite the crowd, they manage to serve very quickly.
This restaurant is having a good location at the center of Melbourne city which is easily to be allocated.
I had a great dinner time together with my family at the restaurant during our visit to Melbourne.
Delicious Vietnamese food especially love their Mekong style noodle soup!
Fair prices, staffs services are brilliant and food delivery is fast too!
Overall atmosphere was chilled and easy.
(Reminder: You might need to share table if you are couple or single especially during dinner time)
Horrible customer service. Staff dont know how to smile or greet customers. A particular staff called Thuong who took our order, kept saying "no we cant do it" when we tried to "personalise" our order due to there were some stuffing in the noodle one of us cant eat. The advice is they will give u what they think right and u just got to get rid off what u cant eat. Even coffee then add a bit of milk - they couldnt do it since it is not in their menu. If u choose to work in this industry at least have some basic customer service skill and manner. Very disappointed and strongly not recommended considering there are heaps of good restaurants in Melbourne.
The worst Pho and Vietnamese Coffee I’ve tried.
Pho: it’s not the fresh Pho noodles, the soup is quite good.
Vietnamese Coffee: Who taught you make the Vietnamese coffee by mixing the water with condensed milk? It is more similar to the instant coffee than the original. We bought 3 cups of Vietnamese Milk Coffee, and gave up at the first try. Of course we left all of them at the counter because it may be the worst coffee ever in the world.
Paid $4.5 each, totally waste of money.
Excellent food as always. As authentic as Vietnamese food can get. Place is cramped and noisy as per typical Asian restaurants (think of Hong Kong's cha chan teng).
Definitely a must visit.
No doubt a very busy Vietnamese noodle soup restaurant located in the CBD. We had been waiting for 20 mins before get seated. The beef noodle soup is good for me, but not the rice paper rolls.
Good value as the servings are huge. Broth needs work as you can smell the lack of pre-boil. Chicken dishes are generally very salty. Not bad if you want a quick Vietnamese Pho fix.
I like their charcoal chicken pho. One of the best dinners you could have in a cold night.
It’s usually very crowded, you may need to wait in queue for some time.
Food portions are generous and staff are not bad. Prices are a bit more than usual pho food.
It was the only restaurant still open at 10.30 pm so we thought to give it a try. Not worth it at all. Pho was plain and watery, spring rolls was tasteless.
Not recommended.
You can see why this place charges more relative to other Vietnamese Pho joints.
Prime location and the quality is definitely there.
Wait for 15 min to be seated. Overpriced for what it is. We ordered medium sized and the table next to us ordered small. Came out the same sized. So make us wonder what was the difference.really not worth the wait as it taste average. Staff are fast and food come out quickly. But expected to walk out hungry.
Price has now gone up, far too expensive ($16 for a medium pho?)
Broth was surprisingly flavourless, have they changed owned?
My girlfriend is hurling with food poisoning literally as I type this review.
Nope, never again.
Coming from Adelaide where pho soup base has got a nice sweet taste, we have finally found one we like in Melbourne. Thumbs up.
The lady staff was unfriendly. Called her a few times to take an order. And she even put on a b*itchy attitude towards my mum. Her name is Tran if I remembered correctly.
Other that that food was just ok. Would've tasted better if it wasnt for that unfriendly experience!
