Peppers Docklands reviews
51Very disappointing. Bland cheap room decor, waiting 2 mins for guest services to pick up phone, small TV's, with basic channels, gym and pool only accessible by exiting the building and entering elsewhere. Definitely do NOT recommend staying here! 5 star prices only here.
Top class hotel close to Marvel stadium. Pool and gym on the roof with large comfortable room. Friendly staff with stylish lobby and friendly staff
For $320 a night you would expect a King Balcony Room to provide a better view, especially when only 53 guests are allowed at the hotel. We were told another room wouldn’t be possible as they were booked out. It is true the pool is in another building, a residential complex. At first we were told only 5 guests were allowed at a time and we would be put on a waiting list, then we saw another guest get a pass straightaway and were then told we could go anytime. It’s $2.50 each for a coffee pod in your room and the toilet paper was lucky to be 2 ply. The tv options are very basic. However the bed was comfy and the air conditioning worked well. These 2 positives were not enough to justify the cost of the room, which was much smaller than the pictures used on booking.com. Covid-19 hasn’t helped the industry and we were sympathetic to that, but for the money we paid the experience was very disappointing.
Enjoyed the stay beautiful rooms, reception very helpful and accommodating, however we would have liked to have a microwave in our room, paying for dinner delivered and not being able to heat it up along with our daughters specialised purée was disappointing.
Nice place to stay great for families
Very nice friendly staff
Close to city and Docklands
and Marvel Stadium
We stayed here for 2 nights and it was amazing. The restaurant was closed but we came across Jordan who was working at the bar. I requested him if he could let us use the restaurant as we wanted to cut a cake for my wife’s birthday. Plus, we had ordered takeaway food. He took permission from his manager and made our night. We felt wonderful that he was willing to help us out. I would go and stay again due to the service we had received. Also, being so close to Docklands was great.
Thanks a lot Jordan for being so kind and amazing You are an asset to Peppers.
The staff were amazingly helpful in a difficult time. Lead by the manager who acted with empathy the whole team were fantastically supportive.
Loved it! Beautiful view, clean room, friendly stuff. Will come back one day! The only thing that slightly annoying is that the pool is in the building next door. And also we didn't have tea cups in the room.
Peppers Docklands is well situated at the top of Docklands area. Stylish accommodation, attentive staff and close enough to the city, without being too busy. Easy walking distance to cafes and Marvel Stadium.
The location of the hotel is excellent, perfect if you are planning to attend an event at the Marvel Stadium (the entrance of the stadium is around 50 meters from the hotel, no roads to cross). You can easily walk to Melbourne CBD (even with kids) or just catch the tram directly across the hotel. Wilson car parking is available around the corner (not covered). Room was massive, modern and new. The two queen (or double) beds room is enough for a family of 4. Bathroom drain was blocked, the showers had to be quick otherwise the bathroom would be flooded. The check-in process was a bit slow, apparently, the brand Peppers has been recently acquired by Accor and they are still having issues reconciling the bookings done via the Accor website, I had to show my email with the booking confirmation and payment details. The overall experience was very positive, I would give 4.5 stars if I could.
Very nice hotel, so close to Marvel stadium. Adjoining rooms for our family of five were really convenient, when we accidentally locked the door staff were more than happy to help. Valet parking was really convenient.
Rooms were quite spacious and modern, restaurant was great for brekky, bar was convenient for a night cap and the location was great. Friendly staff too!
I'll explain this review, 1 star is for the physical room, it was fanastic, and the other star is for Helena's fantastic service. The 1 night stay itself was great.
However, upon check in, I was advised $250 would be held for room and bond. Absolutely fair and standard.
And upon checking out, front office staff told me that my room rate and parking would be deducted from the held amount. Again, fair and standard. My card was charged an extra amount, equivalent to the room rate and parking, leaving my bank account over $400 in negative.
When I spoke with staff to rectify the charges, they were condescending, rude, told me to call my bank and to call another hotel to explain this to me. After multiple phone calls, it took over a week to get the money back in my account.
I am disappointed.
I stayed here from Friday to Monday with a group of ladies, We had four seperate rooms. Staff are helpful and friendly! Definitely coming back!
A rally nice Place to stay I am glad my Friend and I found this place at A good prices it's a clan Hotel The room is nice and Big
The Simming pool is rely nice and it opens out to a nice view of the city sky line
I would love to come back anther time
We stayed on New Years Eve. The room was clean and airy, very happy to be able to book in early. We chose to eat at Momani, the restaurant on site and how disappointed we were. We were waiting on friends and decided to have a small snack, arancini. All very nice. Then we sat down for dinner at about 8pm, ordered out starters, which came out very timely. Then we waited for over an hour and a half for our main courses, Salmon that was dry, gnocchi which was inedible, and vegetables that were mushy and cold. I had ordered the chicken breast that was indeed hot and tasty, but I think the rest of the food had waited until.my chicken was cooked, hence the reason it was less than appetising. The session manager took some persuasion to come to the table, sending a very junior waitress back to us to offer drinks. He did eventually face us, and being informed that we would not be paying for a meal that was just horrid, did eventually offer us a reduced rate for our meals, whilst persistently telling us how busy they were. To compound our very ordinary food experience we decided that we should take breakfast in our room before heading out. But couldn't find a menu. We called down for a menu, and a porter called to the room, and gave us the evening menu that we already had. He came back again 25 minutes later with the brunch menu. Hurrah! We rang the number to order room service.and were left on hold for some 10 minutes. We tried again and were told to press the button for call back. We were never called back. For a top notch accommodation, they are very very lacking. The receptionist could only offer a very sugary sweet "oh sorry about that" when we informed her. Not good enough Peppers. Seriously, not good enough.
Room aircon positioned in front of a pole. Doesn't go lower than 20degrees so room is sitting at 27degrees because aircon is going into the pole. Bathroom had a mouldy smell.
Staff was helpful but housekeeping need some serious work, towel, bed sheet and duvet was stained. Some item in room is very dusty.
Stayed for one night in December 2019. A group of us booked 3 rooms, 1 petite and 2 king rooms with balcony. We were all situated on level 3.
On arrival, we opted for valet parking ($45 per car) and had a smooth check in process.
We did arrive early and our rooms were vacant and able to go straight up.
The large king balcony rooms were tastefully decorated and included a king bed (2 single beds pushed together,) large bathroom with extended vanity and a rainforest style shower.
The balcony was small but enough space to entertain our friends.
The service of the hotel staff were amazing and very friendly.
The hotel is located besides Marvel Stadium and Southern Cross Station, directly opposite a tram stop leading to Bourke St and a few minutes walk to all of the attractions of the Docklands.
A great price paid, for a fabulous hotel.
Nice boutique hotel, grt rooms and facilities. After hours dining a bit of a disappointment but overall fantastic for the location n price.
