Went to this beautiful little restaurant on wells street.you need to book a table before going as it gets busy. I ordered spring rolls and yhey tasted good. I also ordered sweet and sour chicken which was something out of this world. I recommend this place and I will go there again for sure

We're regulars at this place, have been dining here for at least 10 years now. Peko Peko never fails to disappoint, the food is always great.

Peko Peko consistently serves high quality, delicious Taiwanese food. The flavours and options available are great. Some of their signature dishes are the wasabi mayo prawns and pop chicken. I go here whenever I am in South Melbourne

Their Popcorn chicken and volcano chicken is to die for. They have some delicious prawn dishes.superb place. Only down side is it is always so crowded. You won't get table if you haven't pre booked. Some dishes are bit expensive. Prices have gone up very quickly. But you pay for the taste. We have been here few times for team lunches and everyone loved the food here.

Not sure if new management or different chef but just not the same, ordered delivery and usually had no problems but this time came stone cold, the fish which was described as grilled was actually fried and soggy and the rice hard.

Nice Taiwanese food and friendly service, the environment is also cute as you can see on my posted pictures. They offer real Taiwanese food. The spicy fried chicken is like good, with their special spicy sauce to dip in the middle.
The fried calamari comes in a big bowl with good lay out.
For the drink, try their black tea with ice cream on it, it is wholly really nice drink, one of the best drinks that you can get from an Asian restaurants

The spring rolls are mostly veggie I guess, not bad but also not impressive.

Also the typical Taiwan minced pork rice is tasty, but the style is more on the dry side instead of with lots of sauce.

Worth to try again.

Authentic Taiwanese cuisine is a rarity in Victoria, let alone a good one. Peko Peko is a rare gem hidden in a quiet South Melbourne street, serving up hearty, home cooked Taiwanese dishes for over a decade. The restaurant itself is clean, casual and considerable and the service is polite and friendly. Highly recommend the wasabi mayo prawns, fried chicken and Taiwanese sausage. Expect to fill up your tummy for about $13 per main dish.

Went last night and was amazed by the Custard Fried Chicken.
It tasted great, servings size was huge and it was affordable.
My friend got the more traditional ginger beef noodle soup. It had a very Authentic taste. Service was great too!

Delicious dishes that are unique to this place. The environment is cosy and probably more suited to adults (only because the space is pretty snug).
Wait staff are friendly and prompt to greet and seat you.
Food is amazing! Chilli chicken is a must try accompanied with the broccoli. Have tried a few dishes here and have yet to be disappointed.
Price is a little above average but well worth it.

Any taiwanese food stand at night market can serve food just as good but more reasonably priced. Overpriced for average food.

Awesome food, good atmosphere. Can't go there without trying the pop chicken and one of the panacotta, yum!

Another gem in the South Melbourne area. The pop chicken is delicious and not greasy at all!
It’s best to book, especially for dining over the weekend as it gets quite full.
They have some fun decoration too.

In a random back lane off st Kilda road you’ll find this little gem. Always delicious. Always busy. Always friendly, always walk away satisfied.

Tables were 1 inch apart, people can't get off the table without distrurbing the table next to them. Pop chicken used to be my fav, now seems to have been precooked and reheated. Pop chicken should be served as a side, not main. Too busy and popular to be willing to improve.

Would not recommend for takeaway.

I’m giving these guys four stars.but here’s why.

Tried these guys for the first time tonight having read the reviews and seeing their score. I live super lean during the week so my Friday night splurge means a lot to me, maybe I’m a little carb starved and cranky as well.

I ordered take away for three;
• Crispy spicy beef
• Five spice calamari
• House spring rolls and a fried rice
$57 in total.

It was only when I got home I realised just how small the dishes were.not happy Chan.lol

The reason they get the four stars.
When I took it back and asked for a refund the guy behind the counter could not have handled it better. He gave me a full refund, let me keep the food, apologised saying he didn’t want to see me upset (I was a little.carbs again).

I have to say, although the portions were small the food was pretty good. I don’t think this is one for takeaway though, as all the dishes on the tables looked really good.

I will probably give them another go but next time I’ll eat in. Thanks heaps to the guy who served me. You are the sole reason you get the four stars and not one.
