Passing Clouds reviews
51It's a beautiful place, great wine selection and the set shared lunch is perfect. Highly recommended!
Passing Clouds is a wonderful place to spend an afternoon enjoying delicious food, great wine and the rural outlook. I have been a few times now and it has been consistently good. Make a booking to avoid disappointment.
Was so impressed and relaxed by this winery. Danni (maybe danny) lady went above and beyond with her knowledge, passion and genuine care to interact.
It was a pleasure to visit this winery that clearly cares about local produce and if you get a chance, buy the Saturday night Shirazzzz! Maybe had it while I do this review lol
Seriously though, thank you Danny, you and the pot belly lambsssss are the best - stew
Wow! It's a simple word reserved for the moments that simply cannot be better! Let me just say our food was. Superb! Three courses of feed me, flavors, delicacy, ample quantities, every thing fitting together straight from the oven, the veal and the chicken dishes were the heros but it was all just as amazing. The intimacy of the venue allows the staff to attend to every need, which they did quietly and expertly. I was a visitor from SA with local friends. Simply lovely in every respect - forgot to mention the wine but we bought a cheeky half dozen of deliciousness!
It’s not often a winery nails all elements, exceptional food, fabulous tasting wine & terrific service. Rest assure Passing Clouds has it all. A truly wonderful experience for dinning in & wine tasting. I highly recommend.
Wonderful Birthday Celebration at Passing Cloud Winery with the most generous 3 course menu designed by the Chef. The vineyard surrounds complement the restaurant, creating an exquisite dining experience. The local wine was an excellent complement to our meal. I'll be back.
Disappointing. After reading other reviews I was excited to surprise my partner for lunch on her birthday. She’s vegan so made sure to call and clarify they could accommodate and booked nearly a month in advance.
When I called ahead to clarify they could accommodate for a vegan I said in jest “as long as your not just going to serve roasted vegetables”. That’s exactly what was served. Roasted carrot for the entree, half a head of cauliflower for the main that was bland and tasted like steamed cauliflower, because that’s what it was.
The lamb I was served was bland, overcooked and grey. I didn’t eat it. My partners words described it perfectly ‘it’s very meat and three veg, but not in a good way’.
The wine however was fantastic. We tried the Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Cab Sav, everything was delicious.
I raised all of the above with the manager who despite taking no accountability for the poor quality of our meals graciously comp’d part of our bill which was appreciate.
I haven’t spent a lot of time in this area however, compared to venues/vineyards on the Mornington Peninsula, the venue is subpar. Tbh I actually have found that about the entire region. If you’re planning a weekend away, I suggest looking at the morning peninsula.
Lovely little cellar door with amazing wines, the cheese box makes nice companion to the tasing experience
Wow, what and experience we went to the winery today to have a small lunch and a tasting, but we left with and had an amazing experience which we weren’t planning on. The Two chefs had a 3 course lunch available so we took up the offer. The food was absolutely Amazing all of it … the smoked Salmon with beetroot red onion and horseradish was incredible, the desert to die for and so was the first course. Well the Chardonnay! What can I say we bought two bottles. Well Done Passing Cloud. Thank you two the two Chefs you prepared Amazing food. I would also like to say the service at the wi e tasting table and the Resturant was the best, we will definitely be back. Cheers
Such a special winery and the people are lovely. Wine is excellent quality, our favourite was the Rose and Pinot Noir.
We enjoyed the experience and the setting, even though the wines weren't really to our taste. A very nice cellar door to visit.
Went here very recently and the food was so good. It’s a lunch set menu and booking is essential. They have different mains for different tables so make sure to ask whether you can pick the one you want.
We stopped on the way home from Hepburn Springs. A lovely little winery, you can book in for a three course meal ahead of time but we just stopped for some tastings. Tastings cost or you can buy a bottle of their lovely wines instead. I've been a couple of times and always walked away with a couple bottles of wine. The outdoor area is beautifully designed and is a great spot in lovely weather to look out over while sipping wine.
Food was exceptional as was service. Picturesque and not far out of Daylesford. Highly recommend
Very yummy wine and sensational food. The restaurant and views were gorgeous and staff were lovely. Absolutely loved our experience here and will definitely be back.
Was excited to go to this place, but was quieter than expected.
You can’t drink wine without a wine tasting (unless I missed something).
Enjoyed a wine tasting- the wines are delicious and the host was cool and quirky, but if you are looking for an atmospheric winery, this ain’t it.
Great to pop into and if I could give it a 3.75 I would.
I thought the wine was pretty meh tbh.the views were nice tho. I guess just depends what your after.
Had a delicious meal in this cosy and friendly space with amazing views of the vineyard in autumn. Their wines are impressive too.
I love this winery! Always come for a cellar door experience when in the area, and walk out with several bottles.
Try The Angel!
Very quaint winery set on a picturesque hill. We didn't eat here just went for the wine tasting. We had exceptional service. You could choose between a standard (10$) or premium wine tasting (15). We purchased some Graeme Shiraz, & a Riesling. The food is meant to be fantastic we look forward to revisiting next time
