Paringa Estate Winery & Restaurant reviews
85Nice little estate, set amongst their vines and free range geese. The wines are excellent. The tasting bar is right near the entrance and can be a bit crowded as it is a small space. It is also next to the restaurant and coffee counter. This positioning can be a bit challenging when it busy and noisy. Cannot comment in the food as I did not eat here.
If I could give 6 stars I would. In these uncertain times we decided to heed the call of the Mornington Peninsula Mayor to support local business and went for lunch. Seated in a large restaurant with 3 other tables with guests, well over 2m apart, and the devoted attention of the manager. In these uncertain times we decided to have the set 4 course taster menu. It was superb.
My friends and I made a Lunch booking almost a month in advance for Sunday 23/02/20. On booking we told the restaurant we would be bringing a baby and there was no objection. So imagine our surprise when we get to the restaurant and are rudely told that the restaurant is a child free zone. The hostess who served us insisted they didn't allow prams and had no high chair. But magically managed to produce a high chair and there was a change table in the bathroom. The hostess was so incredibly rude to everyone. The food and wine was fantastic but the customer service was so poor, we will not be returning nor would we recommend this establishment to anyone else.
Dined here on the weekend. Loved the food and wine but service was not that great.
Their booking service stated they don’t take window seat requests, it is a first come first serve basis. Upon arrival, there were 2 empty window seat, however, we were taken to elsewhere so I asked to be seated at the window. The waitress responded saying it’s been reserved for customers with special occasions. This totally contradicts their website information and is a bit disappointing.
We also asked our waitress the difference between a 2011 or 2016 wine and she struggled to answer us. Being a winery restaurant, we would expect the staff to have knowledge of their wines. We ended up getting both glasses just to compare ourselves.
Beautiful place, food, staff and wine!
We underestimated our travel time to another event after the 6course dinner menu and despite this being 100% an us problem the chefs and wait team managed to smash out our food with just enough time to let us make our next booking, without missing any of their amazing menu. They were so helpful, attentive and were happy to have a laugh with you. Our whole experience was awesome! Thank you all so much!
The food was incredible, the service was outstanding, a big thanks to Joel and the team for a wonderful meal
Great service, great food and many special touches that made it a very enjoyable experience. Highly recommended if you're in the area and looking for a fine dining experience!
We had the “5” course set menu for $90 each plus wine. Food was exceptional, service excellent, wine excellent ambiance good. We also got 3 additional tastes between courses and a coffee. Highly recommend
Venue looks great, but when we entered there was no light meals offered, so review based on venue only,
We had the most wonderful evening at Paringa Estate. As one of those groups with specific dietary requirements, we were blown away by the imaginative and delicious options presented to the vegetarians and vegans at our table. The omnivores were just as impressed!
The service from the wait staff and the sommelier was warm and friendly yet very professional. Can not recommend this place highly enough.
What an amazing and exquisite dinning! We loved every dish and couldn’t get enough of all the delicious flavours. The chef is a genius Big thank you to all of the amazing staff!
Delicious, educational and friendly tasting with a Canadian gentleman at the tasting bar. They're generous in their pours and have a lovely property with a valley view.
We stopped in for a tasting. Server wasnt the friendliest but tasting and wines were really good.
The food is fine, the wine tasting conducted by some intensely disinterested staff, but this place produces one of the nicest shiraz down the coast.
This restaurant is by far the best on the mornington peninsula in my opinion. The food is absolutely incredible. The food is so interesting and each dish blew me away more than the last. I will be a regular customer for sure. The wait staff were also so lovely and the setting is obviously beautiful. For me the stand out was the food. The chef, adam beckett, is a genius!
Definitely becoming one of our favourites in the region. We had the 8 course degustation. My wife was pregnant and they seamlessly altered the menu to suit. Great service. Really amazing food and wine at a great price in comparison to similar places. Stand out courses were the white asparagus with truffle mousse and steak tartare. Can't wait to go back.
Excellent wine, very friendly staff but we only came to the cellar door. Will update if we eat here
If you feel like visiting a refined restaurant and dressing up for the occasion, Parings Estate is the place to go. With spectacular views of their vineyards and food and wine to match, it is a worth while experience. When you order a glass of wine, you get a very generous glass. They are suprisingly child friendly.
Applauded by those in the wine industry yet almost unsung by those outside it. Incredibly good, brilliant seasonal ingredients put to clever and elaborate use. Great house produced wines too.
I have to post a rave review for Paringa Estate. We were lucky enough to be squeezed in for a table at the truffle degustation dinner for the last night of our honeymoon. The food was spectacular, paired very well with the beautiful wines and the service was top notch. I particularly enjoyed seeing the same wine of different vintage compared side by side. The chef, Julian, knows what he's doing with a truffle and highlighted truffles from 4 different states extremely well.
There was a kink in the evening as the table next to us was filled with loud, rude business men who acted like they were the only ones of importance in the room. When I overheard them being rude to the staff just before the last course, I could take no more and I stood up to the group. The staff were extremely supportive and apologetic to me for the groups rudeness, which was not necessary as it was not the staffs fault they were so rude! James (restaurant manager) in particular went out of his way to calm the situation and offered to move us to a table that had cleared. He also gifted us wine on our departure - again, not necessary and we tried to pay for the wine! Overall, the evening ended very well and we were so pleased with the wine and food and would highly recommend this restaurant and winery to all.
