Papa G's Pizza

Last review was 3 years ago, so it's time to update.

Last time I had bought pizza here was 6 months ago and it was fine, just as it has been for years.

Today though sadly it was not a great time. They had forgot the Special G sauce drizzle on top which is a shame but the biggest issue I had was probably the pizza base, it use to be fluffy, slightly bready and crispy. But today it felt like I was eating a pre-made frozen pizza base. It was super thing, almost cracker like.
Another issue is it tasted like they forgot the pizza sauce, or if they didn't it must be cut down by a lot because I didn't taste much tomato at all.

Other than that it was fine, it was still very yum and if there was no other pizza place around I'd take it on the chin and forget the small things, but living in Mornington I have access to many venues who sell pizza so I think it might be time for me to look for another location.

Which is a shame because, in the past Papa G's had amazing pizza I would rave to people about.: (

Have been ordering regularly from papa g's since they opened around 2012. Since the new owners took over 18+ mths ago the quality has gone downhill, thought it could have been just an off day, a one off, but no, it is the norm now. The last few orders have been terrible, I don't pay for a tasteless pile of grease.
Time to find a new pizza shop!

Really long wait for orders. Don't even think about trying food that isn't pizza, just the sight of the Pasta Carbonara is enough to make you lose your appetite.

The first time we ordered the pizzas were really nice. Tonight when ordering for a 2nd time the pizzas were AWFUL. One had a weird smell and tasted foul. I’ve never had a pizza totally inedible. Will avoid this pizza shop in future.

Used to be our go-to pizza place but I think new management and now it’s terrible Why change what works?

I orded the deal one and when the delivery guy turned up he smelt of sweat and looked physically unclean his hair oily and wasn't groomed in any way his hair was long enough to have put up in a hair tie. Once I opened my pizza there was a long brown hair in my pizza disgusting, otherwise the food was good but the bbq chicken could use less chicken and more BBQ sauce.

The base on the pizza has changed and so has my rating this used to be the best in town 5 stars now not very good 1 star! When will people learn if it isn't BROKE Don't fix it

I am not happy at all with my pizzas this evening. I placed my order, I was told it would take 20 mins. 3 of my 4 Pizzas where ready.but the 4th they had forgot to make, I only reason is that I had to ask.so I took 55 mins all up not impressed at all. So 1 hot Pizza and 3 cold, and there was no offer of a free Pizza or anything for my troubles. So please think twice about ordering from these guys

Good pizza! Fast! When you call, the system recognises you and they don't have to ask your name as it is recorded.
Value for money! My go to when possible

Best pizzas in mornington, always fresh and the thin bases are amazing. Papa G was recommended to us by several people thought we would give it a shot and havent looked back.

Randomly tried the pizza here. I ordered vegetarian and paid 16 for it. Base was crisp, filed with ample toppings. Well it was a good quality pizza. I enjoyed it for the night.

Amazingly hot, delicious and fresh. Overwhelming amount vegan options! Fast delivery. So so so good. Thanks Papa G!

Still a pretty good pizza from Papa G's but gone down hill after new ownership. A bit hit and miss.

This is the place in Mornington if you want pizza. A vast array of options greet you as you walk in, along with the exceptional service. Each time I have been, I have been treated exceptionally. Being vegan, I love an option, and this man has sorted it out for all of us. If every restaurant operated like this one, the world would be a better place.

Absolutely love this place! Been here a few times and they never fail to deliver for a reasonable price (HUGE Vegan menu too!). The owner and staff are lovelyBest pizza I’ve had on the peninsula.
