Palace Westgarth Cinemas reviews
42I've been coming here since it was the Valhalla. Though it doesn't have 24 hour sci fi marathons, and they've split the one big cinema with a balcony into 45 small rooms with tiny projection screens, it still maintains much of its charm
Although the building and inside the cinema is pretty old, but the chairs are still pretty comfortable. Nice local cinema with great selection of movies.
BEAUTIFULLY RETAINED OLDY WORLDY CINEMA
The Westgarth is a very old cinema from yesteryear. It has a certain atmosphere you you don't get in today's slick, popcorn focused cinemas and it retains the faded glory of the primacy of cinema prior to video / DVD / Netflix revolutions
Always a delight, plus there's particularly good food at the snack bar including luxury chocolates from Xocolatl.
Very old school. Old chairs and screen. Not a big facility. I mostly pick it to go with children to avoid crowd.
I liked the experience, but the movie rooms are rather small. I was maybe expecting the size of the Astor's one. I didn't like that the queue to buy popcorn was too long and my movie was about to start, so no popcorn for me!
What an amazing venue. Definitely recommend this for a night out. Choose the high street for dinner before the movie.
My go to cinema everytime I want a grownup night out with a friend. Gorgeous Art Deco vibes, yummy choc tops (so i am told), and wine, coffee and cake all available to take in the cinema with you! Tip: just dont try to put your wine glass in the drink holders.
Great to see Stan and Ollie outdoor, balmy night, almost no one there, stars, lovely film, great service.
Best service, and best hot chocolates, thank you Sarah and Roy at the best movie theatre in the northern suburbs of Melbourne:)
This is a great local non-Hoytes venue with a great selection of drinks, but a small amount of candy. Being from the US, we typically bring candy to watch a movie, so I guess things are a little different here as the dessert of choice is ice-cream. Either way, this place is great for a movie and popcorn, though you might want to bring your own candy if you're like me. We frequent often.
Love the Westgarth cinema! Staff are Amazing cinemas Great food, coffee and drinks, such a elegant cinema and beautiful location.the best!
Nice and cosy. Great place to see movies that have been out for a while still showing. Would give 5 stars if there was a special deal like discount days.
Nice cozy cinemas with great staff and greatly priced tickets. However the candy bar is pretty overpriced.other than that, highly recommend!
Art deco style cinema. Its looking a little rough around the edges but still in good nick. Good food, service and prices arnt too bad either.
Was good but too vlise to screen and it was too loud for the size of the cinema but enjoyed the movie
Not too far from Westgarth station by walk, small theatres but I prefer tis type over commercial cinemas any day!
Beautiful olden day luxurious style cinema with the comfiest seats! Just off High St close to everything, super convenient and lovely waiting areas with bars as well. Staff are lovely
I'm sure it's a wonderful cinema. But with vouchers in hand, you can't buy tickets online. And after three weekends and dozens of phone calls unanswered, I don't seem to be able to book on the phone either. So I guess that means one day I'll have to risk an already sold out cinema and travel across the city to queue up in person. One day.
I like this cinema, but their website is ridiculous. Just experienced a second occasion when I wasn't able to purchase tickets and then I wasted another 30 minutes trying to phone to get the problem fixed. Easier to go elsewhere as there are plenty of other cinemas who have websites that work!
