Palace Westgarth Cinemas reviews
42I used to love visiting here as a teenager and watching all the old classics on the big screen, many of which I had never seen before. Nice memories.
The Art Deco surrounds and friendly, low key service are always appreciated at this very special local Palace Cinema with its huge solar panels helping power your cinematic enjoyment and keep the experience low emissions. I also enjoy the frequent international films with subtitles from around the world. Really a gem. I'm a Gold Member so it's a really modest cost to support such great indy chain as Palace.
What a remarkable place with such beauty and elegance.
Lovely staff providing a truly wonderful experience in this remarkable cinema.
Such a gorgeous cinema! Old school, friendly, good movie choices with lots of film festivals plus awesome local discount on Mondays
Amazing service, was unwell so I needed to change date of movie, after calling in and changing movie session to the next day was still feeling unwell so needed to call again. No problem at all and was able to redeem for voucher for another session when feeling better, I cant imagine another cinema or service where staff are so attentive helpful and caring. Literally the only reason I would see a movie at another cinema is if it wasnt showing at the Palace Westy:) 5 stars every day of the week.
Love the Westgarth. I've been going for years. The feel of an old-school cinema is great. Their staff have always been lovely. The theatres are small, so they feel intimate. They also get a good selection of international cinema. I particularly like the Spanish and Latin American films festivals. And DEFINITELY get a choctop-they're the best around!
Like Nelly's classic dancefloor filler "hot in here" the Palace Westgarth Cinema needs to crank up the A/C cos I was sweating more than a gypsy with a mortgage. Sure I was pleasantly surprised to learn I could get a pint of beer whilst watching the film but also heartbroken when I ordered my large Coke Zero only to find they were Pepsi people. Walking out of the cinema after two hours in the sauna, or as the Palace Westgarth called it "cinema 3", was not only embarrassing but also disgusting. My partner who has recently broken his jaw was wetter than an otters pocket and visibly distressed. Please invest in a stronger A/C unit Palace Westgarth
Lovely cinema. 2, issues, curtains didn't open automatically, lights remained on for approx. 15 min. Great movie.
Service was exceptional and really enjoyed the ambiance. Seats were slightly too squishy for my butt. If it were any larger I would not have been able to be seated in the cinema which would have been embarassing. Otherwise absolutely enjoyed this place.
I love this cinema. It was my first time and I found very cute and good located close to my friends
Loved this place for many years. They lost me when they started playing upsetting pro Australia day advertisements before the children's movies. According to their email, "unfortunately, we can only intervene if on-screen material is found to breach the advertising code of conduct". My children and I won't be back. See u at cinema nova. Cinema nova had no issues with removing the upsetting pre film advertising. I just want to see a film and skip the propaganda.
Edit** I was sent an email from the C. E. O.of Palace Cinemas Mr Benjamin Zeccola himself which simply said "See ya. " I found this to be highly unprofessional as a customer service response but just further illustrates, I am wise to spend my $$$ elsewhere.
Such a great old style cinema. Great drinks (alcohol available) and friendly staff. Good screens and seats too
Beautiful Art Deco cinema, knowledgable and friendly staff showing a fantastic range of films. Favourite cinema around!
Gist - Seats are good. Toilets are well maintained. Staff are friendly. Screen is ok. Sound is decent.

Been to this theatre on June 16,2019 to watch X Men 'Dark Phoenix'.
Firstly, I got a discounted tickets. So perceived value for money is good.
This is an old school stage theatre's modified as a movie theatre.
One I've been is cinema 4. It's like upper top left portion of original theatre.
Small cinema but comfortable and classic decor with a good atmosphere. A nice alternative to the big cinemas
Great cinema with excellent movie selection and olive oil based popcorn. Love to see a relaxing movie with a glass of wine to relax.
Cozy and nice cinema. Gives you a much better feeling than any of the big chains theaters. Very cheap prices for locals on Mondays!
Love the old theatre, that you can have a glass of wine and olive oil popcorn while you watch a film. The cinemas are small, but for most movies it just makes it more intimate which I like. For the big blockbusters I go elsewhere, and for everything else I'll head to the Palace.
Been coming here since they used to run rocky horror and blues brothers Friday nights. I also remember a few science fiction 24 hour runs. Since the renovations it's only improved. Grab a bucket of beer, or a glass of wine and a choc top. Enjoy a flick
Westgarth Cinemas is fantastic, the employees are always helpful and happy, the menu is quite good and well priced. The seats are comfy and there is adequate space. The actual cinema itself is beautiful, I think the cinema is old so it looks very cool, like you are sitting in an opera house.
