Oz Tenpin Geelong Bowling reviews
48 RIP off city! My daughter went with her youth group tonight and went to buy food with her card. No! They only accept cash!? Generic ATM charges $2 per transaction. Of course! She bought chips and a water which came over $10! Ridiculous. We are all for supporting local, especially since Covid but we won't be back. Who on earth doesn't accept cards in this climate either?
Re response: my daughter was not told she could pay by card for food at the front. She was told she needed cash!
Kids played the amusement games after their bowling, only having to wait 35min to collect their prizes. We kept waiting patiently whilst a large group was sorted out etc which i understood, then they continued to serve other bowlers entering b4 i had to approach them and ask how much longer than 35min we'd have to wait? If you can't offer a total service with the machines i wouldn't bother having them.
As requested date was yesterday the 8th July. Time was 10: 00am.
Incredibly run down and short staffed! I took my daughters here for a fun school holiday activity and it was absolute madness. Only two staff working the counter and queues very long. On top of that, only one bumper was working but no one told me that when I requested they be put on, instead I had to go up and ask why only one bumper was on and was then told it was a known issue with our lane. Three arcade games also swallowed our money and the food in the Cafe was ridiculously overpriced ($22 for 6 hot jam donuts) and didn't look at all appealing. It's a shame it is the only place to bowl in Geelong and I think it shows, as without a competitor they sure don't seem to be in any kind of hurry to adequately maintain their facilities!
All the bowling lanes need upgrading badly they keep stuffing up the ball doesn’t come up or the bowling pins are missing or they all fall down someone needs to do something about it it’s very annoying
Went to the bowling center with some friends and was placed on a lane with bowls and shoes from the previous users. Clearly not a sanitary place to be.
Staff really need to be alot more friendly. Quite rude. Wont be in a hurry to go back thats for sure
The service was poor, being a beginner, I asked how long it would take for 1 game, they said about 30 minutes and so I asked for 2 games which was over $50 total, I thought ok, but we only got 1 game for that price in the end. They just weren't paying attention. Watch out for the idiots and make sure they hear you.
Had a great day bowling but food and drinks are abit pricey and cash only. But if are there to bowl its good
Great Bowling experience or to spend time with family and friends. Disappointed with the food tho as I got a burger but it came wrapped up in a brown paper bag. I initially thought it would come on a plate with chips and a salad was was thoroughly disappointed. My house mate got a souvlaki but again it came wrapped up with no chips or salad. Housemates daughter got potato cakes and dim some in a bag not on plate. Apart from the food was good to go and get lost in Bowling again.
The place needs some love. Bit old and outdated. The bathrooms really needed some TLC.
But does the job.
Looks awesome! But the last 2-3 times I've been we have had problems with the pins not being set back up.
Paid $56.85 for 2 adult and 2 children. Started in Lane 10 which was not loading all pins, then moved to lane 9 which the pins loaded better but the score was out the whole time. When we informed the attendant he said "yeah, that always happens". Quite disappointing for the price.
Fun with friends, system is a bit cooked sometimes. Gave me a strike despite me missing so no complaints:)
We arrive on a Saturday night expecting a couple of games and some drinks, greeted by the most sour employee, we go to pay and are told we can't pay cash because they don't have change, bar is closed, highly inappropriate music being blasted whilst kids are trying to have a nice Saturday evening
Stay at home and play wii bowling if you want a good time
Went on a public holiday. Just 2 staff and a really long queue just to pay for a lane. Apart from the lack of staff, the facilities are adequate and the parking is great.
Great fun! Awesome "old school" sing along music makes for an upbeat environment and its licensed! Take the kids and have a bowl and a beer! Kids are happy and parents are happy! Win -win!
Friendly customer service and great pricing, arcade games for kids aswell as prize winning games. Multiple lanes so no long wait times and a huge variety of different weight balls
A great place to meet friends and have fun playing comp bowls. I do enjoy our catch ups on a Tuesday.
Great cheap outing for the family. Ring before you go and check that it's not league night otherwise you may struggle to get a lane. The cafe serves chips, potato gems etc. They are pretty average. Recommend you eat before you go. Only bad thing I have to say is the man serving behind the bowling counter can be very standoffish and rude but the lady in the cafe is lovely!
Bowling IS still a thing! Really fun, helpful staff and a blast from the past. If you haven't been for a while, get back there!
