Okami (Niddrie) - Japanese All You Can Eat

Great menu, between 4 of us we took turns at choosing from the range of selections and every plate was fantastic. The service was excellent and quick given the time allocated, definitely recommend and go back to again.

For an all you can eat Japanese place, there wasn't a lot of variety and options to choose from. The sushi wasn't the best, all the beef dishes tasted relatively the same, and since the variety was limited, you get bored of the food pretty quickly. The service is alright depending on which chain you visit. For instance, the one in Caroline Springs wasn't that great as the food delivery was slow. We ordered the second round of food, but they brought it out so slowly that it became our last round. We also asked the staff a few times about it too, but they didn't really seem to care too much. As a result, we weren't full after the time ended. However, the other chain we went to delivered decently quickly and although the food quality and variety was the same, at least we left with a full stomach.

This was the worst visit we’ve had to Okami Niddrie. All the fried foods left a horrible greasy taste in your mouth and you could tell that the oil it was cooked in was dirty. The teriyaki chicken was actually boiled chicken with a teaspoon of teriyaki sauce poured on it before serving. The edamame was undercooked and hard. The sushi rice was not fresh as it was hard and almost crunchy. When we raised concerns about the questionable quality of the food to the staff, the server mentioned that it’s because their regular chef is currently on leave for a wedding. What a way to try and excuse inedible food.

I've been to a few okami establishments I was mistaken to think they are all equal. Niddrie is by far the best. Food is fresher staff are friendlier and more attentive

Came here Tuesday night. Food was ok, but there was a waitress “who was very nice” but sick. Kept sniffing really loudly and carrying a dirty tissue around, coughing near people ect! When I brought it up with another waiter he basically laughed and said she has hayfever.
Me and my partner are now also both sick. Pretty funny when you have a sign at the front saying if you’re sick please don’t enter.

One of the best Okami restaurant so far I've been. The atmosphere quite busy, yet staffs are super friendly on Saturday night. It was awesome experience, thanks Niddrie Team!

We had a great experience at the Niddrie Okami branch.

The food was coming fast. The sushi was fresh and the beef carpaccio was on next level.

The staff was friendly and attentive. I have seen this service is lacking in most other Okami restaurants where the service is slow and have to wait and call someone to come to your table to order.

Best Okami experience I've had. Service was very quick. Food were fresh and hot. The staff were super attentive. Bringing you spare utensils when you drop without asking. Love it!

We ordered steamed vegetables and they were too salty, then I asked one of the waitress that I wanted veges with no salt and still the second time around the same.some beef steaks were too chewy too.

This would have to the most positive experience I have had at an Okami restaurant. Service was fast and with a smile. Food came out quick and enough so everyone could sample all dishes. Well done guys you should pass on your formula to the other franchise.

We always go to all the Okami restaurants. We visited this Okami Niddrie. All you can eat Japanese is one of our family favourites. We love Japanese food and we always leave happy and satisfied.

They have a set buffet menu, with cold sushi platters, and a simple hot food. My kids always order seaweed salad, sushi platters, chicken skewers, and fried chicken. Service was friendly and food was served really quickly. Restaurant was busy and bustling and the atmosphere was great.

Our favourite is the sushi/sashimi platter. It’s always fresh and tasty. The salmon is absolutely delicious.y favourite is the seaweed salad and mushroom salad. My kids love the tasty crispy chicken and my husband loves the beef Stirfry with fried rice.

It’s a great family restaurant and good value for money. They have convenient locations all throughout Melbourne. We love it

My first time in this restaurant chain. It is a must try experience. You get a menu, select as many dishes as you want to eat and you pay a single price. Basically an all you can eat. Be aware you have limited time in the restaurant and waitresses will push you out of the door as soon as they can. Restaurant shuts at 10 according to the hours on the door and they kicked us all our by 9. Food is good, service is not great. I will definitely try another Okami, just not this location.

Very pleasant service and food. Service was fast and friendly. Plenty of food that was all very tasty. We love Japanese and this was up with any of the top in the area. Suggest booking ahead as it did get busy and pace yourself as service is fast and we didn't have to wait long to place another order. Will be going there again.

Excellent food with superb service. Good selection and yummy Japanese cuisine. A must visit for nice sushi. The karage chicken, katsu chicken, prawn, teriaki chicken, were all very delicious.

We previously went to Caroline Springs location and will never go back. Service at Niddrie is incredible: staff are hard working, friendly and so attentive! Quality of food is fresh and fast. Highly recommend.

We had the all you can eat for lunch today and All of the food and the customer service were absolutely amazing. We look forward to coming back again!

All you can eat?
We were a group of 8 and went there tonight (20/12/2022) for our company christmas dinner.
We ordered food and we didn’t know the sizes of the plates hence we left with a bit of food in our plates that we couldn’t eat. (the waiter did not inform us of the sizes our the policy)
Then one of the staff told us that either you should try and eat them all or you should pay a surcharge of $5 per person.
We were obviously shocked but since we didn’t want to ruin our christmas dinner vibe, we agreed to pay the surcharge.
Then they came back themselves and said since you’re paying the surcharge you can take away the extra food.
She came back with 3 small containers. Then i asked for more since all of our staff wanted to take some food home.
The manager (i think) came and arrogantly said that you can’t have more containers as we are making you a favour of letting you take some food home.
It was their idea in the first place to let us take the food home because we were paying extra $5 for each person.
Someone should have let us know the policy of no food on the table or you should pay before we ordered.
Not encourage us to order more.
Very very dodgy place.
I will never ever come back to this place.

A fantastic place to eat out with friends, family or partner. A great atmosphere with friendly and quick service. The interior is well lit and the food caters for tastes.
