Okami (Greensborough) - Japanese All You Can Eat reviews
64I feel like over the years the quality of this place has gone down. Overall the food is fine and the fact that it is all you can eat makes it a great place to go with a group as anyone can then order whatever they like with no pressure. However, the quality of the food is ordinary. The food doesn't taste bad but it also isn't great. The one dish that I actually think is pretty good though is the beef tataki. I personally think you are better off going to a normal Japanese restaurant to order the specific dishes you want at a higher quality.
We just received our uber eats order and everything is perfect! Delicious, fresh food every time.
Restaurant has limited appeal in character and ambience, people are packed in, uncomfortably close in my opinion. Like a canteen on a navy ship. But the food is very good, lots of menu choices and quick service. No rapport at all with staff.it's not their thing. You only go there for the food.not the overall experience. It is what it is.it doesn't pretend to be anything else.
All in all it's a good experience.however,
while the service is good, the service staff are very friendly, and the food comes out very quickly, my friends and I were served some chicken that did taste a bit funny and had a weird texture.
My mates got off with a few days of stomach discomfort but I was unfortunate enough to have severe week long food poisoning that needed antibiotics at the end to help me fully recover
The experience did taint my relationship with Okami but I'm sure I'll be back one day. However I might stay away from the teriyaki chicken next time
My rating is entirely based on being served the uncooked/off chicken. It really set the tone for the whole night, which was pretty good until then.
Greensborough branch is the best, have had it 4 ti. Ea at different branches but Greensborough is the best
Food has no taste service was quick didn’t eat much of it than was told due to not eating will be a charge a fee what a joke my stomach is still sore from the food. 0 rating
This restaurant cheats its customers of portion sizes! The dishes are very oily and the spring rolls were cold and chewy! Luckily the menu had photos otherwise, we couldn't order as many waiters seems to grunt rather than communicate. They joked as they laughed thinking we could see them doing it! The dining conditions are appalling. The floor was very sticky, the staircase steps filthy and the bathroom facilities were broken!
Come on guys, get your act together!
Won't be back unfortunately.
Amazing service and hot delicious food! The okami team rearranged our table on a busy evening to accommodate our hefty pram. Thank you for not making this new parent feel like a burden to the public. And thank you for the quick service - both parents managed to eat before baby decided it was their turn (a rarity!). Quite possibly our new favourite eatery!
Went for a birthday dinner. They had 2 sittings (on Friday evening). We went for the first sitting. Food was delicious. Had the all you can eat banquet amongst 10 of us and the food just kept coming. I'd never had Japanese before but I was quite impressed. Very tasty.
Amazing food lots of options, great value for your money.
Staff works hard to make sure all costumes are happy and getting they food on time.
Hope my boyfriend and I didn’t make them loose money.
Will be back for my birthday?
All you can eat menu was great value for a big feed. Plenty of options, veg, seafood, chicken and beef. All just the right size serves, means you can fully explore the menu.
Have to say the food presentation was quite poor to be honest, beef carpaccio came out looking like quite a mess, the taste of the food left alot to be desired in the taste department.
The Angus steak by far probably the worst I've had in some time, however the highlight was the green tea ice cream.
Very disappointing as may have written, in the vasinaty of 100 dollars.
Definitely won't be returning for a disappointing dinner.
Lovely food. Great selection.
Staff probably need more training on the importance of being friendly and welcoming. Definitely lacking smiles and friendly demeanour, which creates a sense that you are bothering them if you want further orders, ie drinks etc.
From the easy booking to the good food every part of this dining experience was amazing. The staff were polite and welcoming, and the food was served hot and delicious. Me and my partner must of caused the business to lose money on the amount of food we ended up having. Definitely worth the price.
We popped in for dinner tonight. Staff was friendly and service was quick. Very disappointed with the taste and quality of the food. Gyoza was salty, chicken karaage under seasoned/bland. Siumay tasted like frozen ones you buy from supermarket. Waste of $100 for 2 people plus they charge 1.5% surcharge when paying by card. I don't recommend this place and will never go back again. Fukutontei Ramen Plenty Valley is better value for money and food is good and consistent.
It's hard to go past all you can eat Japanese, great food and quick service, excellent for the family.
When Okami was less popular than it is now, I would have easily given a 5 star rating for every visit. Had Dinner here last Sunday and what a disappointment! The Beef Carpaccio was more fat than beef, the eggplant was mush, no charred bits like it used to have, there was no salmon for the sashimi, the sashimi/sushi platter was very tired looking and definitely not freshly made, the beef teriyaki was tough and chewy and the list goes on. Thanks Okami, it's been great, but it's time to move on.
Very fast service! And the quality of the food is great for an all-you-can-eat restaurant. We really like the beef carpaccio, agedashi tofu and eggplant dish.
Extremely disappointing.
The food was cut in half! The sushi was the size of a coin, had to reorder 3+ times and more then 20 minutes wait. Food was dry and Tasteless. Dont go
The all you can eat is great value. The food is enjoyable, though not the best Japanese I've had in Melbourne. The staff were very friendly & attentive.
