Bad service, really bad almond latte, low quality coffee beans and almond milk. Waste of money.

I go here before I do my produce shopping at Toscano's. It reminds me a bit of visits to Italy. The greeters at the door are always charming, and smile indulgently at my very bad attempts to speak Italian. Bon journo, commestai, bene. The coffee is always good, the food great, but, and it is a big but... Some days, it takes 10 minutes to get anyone to bring you a glass of water, let alone take an order. That is okay if you simply want to watch the world around you. Officina is a bit like landing in another culture and part of its charm is you are in another world. The place is usually over run with young mothers in expensive SUVs, showing off their offspring and talking over each other loudly. Or locals who clearly have abundant cash reserves and time on their hands. Tables empty slowly at Officina. If you happen to arrive during a busy spell the wait for a table is... Long. Patience is required to enjoy the place. I like it because it slows me down, and makes me reflect on my being the other, the tourist. Patience is required after being seated, after order taken, it can take another 10-15 minutes for coffee, food to arrive, often, not together.

Loved the place. Amazing selection of wines, very European look and feel, staff is very friendly. I was there for dinner, and they just introduced dinners. Maybe the selection of dishes is a bit limited, but it is fully compensated by the taste.

Great Italian food and coffee. We went there for brunch - ordered the gnocchi with zucchini, croque Monsieur and ham cheese toastie. All dishes were done to a high quality. Will be returning for lunch.

Such a beautiful space, perfect for a date night or a dinner with a friend. Food was amazing and staff were so lovely!

Tiny dishes, nothing special (taste wise) and pretty expensive. Very nice waitress and nice vibe, but overall- disappointing.

An Italian cafe heaven. They make their own almond milk which makes the almond lattes chefs kiss. Love the pasta & calamari! I always come back here whether it’s breakfast, lunch or dinner. Highly recommend

Its a shame to give this place 3 stars as it has tremendous energy in the front room.the back room where we were seated needs a great deal of work. It is a dungeon. I asked to move and we were mo ed to the front. The food is very good but the portions are really small
Where is the bread? We purchased an Italian bread on our way out and it was the best bread.
It would accompany the meal perfectly and add authenticity and fill people up

Food has always been great but the extra space and the shade in the courtyard is a great improvement!

Extremely disappointing experience for a first time here. My partner and I ordered 2 small almond lattes (almost the size of a piccolo) and were shocked at the fact that I had been charged $13. Money aside, the coffee tasted particularly unusual and wasn’t something I had experienced before. I went back to suggest that potentially the coffee may had been burnt or the almond milk tasted quite funny to be told that it was their own blend. Out of common courtesy, I think it should only be right to inform customers that they use a house blend of almond milk which is extremely different to the norm and the fact that the charge for this milk is much more than your usual $0.5.

Food was incredible and service was great! Staff were super helpful and friendly, and the pastas were cooked perfectly and delicious. Tiramisu is to die for Will be back again!

I ordered a small 3/4 filled strong, Almond latte take way last week cost $7 I thought it was a mistake, coffee was ok nothing special at all, dropped by a few days again for same thing once again charged $7, cant work out why everyone else around Toorak charges max $5.50 for same, how is this justified > Of course I can go elsewhere, just curious how they get away with it?

Really enjoyed having dinner here - it’s like being in Italy in the heart of Hawksburn Village! Would love to come back. I tried the squid ink spaghetti and it was delicious.

It' a lovely place in Melbourne, maybe a little bit expensive than the other bar, but quality food and kindness is assured.

We had a lovely dinner here and I'd love to come back! The service was great and the food even better; I tried the tonnata with veal and it didn't disappoint!

Fantastic, you wont experience a better plate of pasta in Melbourne. Topped with great service & you cant go past the Tiramisu

Delicious food! Very good Service! Ordered the squid ink spaghetti which was really good and a tiramisu for dessert which really topped everything up! Would definitely recommend for people who like Italian food! Definitely coming again!

I’ve been coming to this beautiful cafe since it first opened many years ago, and the service is still fantastic, the coffee always on point and staff always friendly, even in the morning coffee rush. Couldn’t have been happier when they expended into more and more food and a bigger space, they’re still kicking goals!

As I walk through the streets of Melbourne I take a turn down Malvern Road. I see this door and a lot of very friendly happy people standing in front of it with some super cute doggos happily waiting for a coffee from their friendly barista.
I hear some bustle through the door and decide to peep in myself.my god. I look out and see Australia and decide to go back through the door so I can visit Italy for a little bit, everyone greets me and I walk through the courtyard also known as Sicilia!
As I sit down the amazing warm friendly service makes me feel like I'm one of their own.
I ask.what might you recommend. After short and friendly conversation they help me to decide my meal!
Oh Dio, This is some homemade pasta that you get when you visit your family back in Italy! "Mamma Mia" I shout as I start waving my hands in the air of enjoyment and enjoy a fresh orange juice under the Italian sun. Finishing off with an Italian Espresso made perfectly by the baristas!
Truly a great experience and recommend this place for everyone.
