If you would like a school were they constantly have CRTs (sitters) or give your child a detention for wearing branded socks or talking to the person beside them in class, well this school is for you.

Break out in fights happens weekly but amazingly enough, parents aren't notified. Yet we get notified for stupid thing!

And don't forget all the uniform must has the school name on it or once again, your child will get a detention.

Teaching wise, I have no clue because my kids never seem to have the same teacher for their subjects!

This school looks good from the outside but the craziness inside the school system is just too much.
I really feel for any student who doesn't fit the profile of a perfect student.

The school overall has been great in my experience. The teachers really care about the students (obviously not all but most in my case). Theres barely any fights and I havent seen any bullying.

This school is a high failure for students affairs and wellbeing. Parents drop children feeling their kids are being looked after. However teachers and staff in this school fails to discharge that responsibility and students easily can fall into traps of bad students and learn highly dangerous habits such as smoking cigarette and vape.

Extremely not recommend this school specially for younger students aged 10 to 17.

My name is Rick Grimes and I will do anything to protect my family. My boy Carl got into some serious trouble with a group that called themselves the “saviours”. I won’t go into detail of what happened but he is no longer attending OSC. Although there are many “teachers” that let these things slide, there were a surprising amount of staff that helped my boy. There’s still hope.

This school is super insensitive to the students and to the parents they try and rule over everyone and try to get kids to get rid of hoodies when it is freezing cold they care more about attendance than actual school work apparently wearing the wrong uniform leads to a terrible future i am a student here and usually i don't have problems but this is information from friends and people i know, phones are taken away from students even if the students need their phone and personal equipment and even student confidentiality is spread around to teachers and they also talk behind students back on multiple account they also have double standards from being students have phones and others aren't allowed the teacher dress code is inappropriate when students wear what the teachers wear they get pulled up on it, uniform items seem to be more important than school achievements as well as the teachers having favorite students. Bullying too much of a one sided battle the teachers believe the one which seems the least threating, its a terrible school im surprised parents are sending their kids here

Been here for a long time, yet I've only visited 3/4 of the school. 1/4 being the Paterson-Monash building.

I have spent making so many memories with my friends and teachers, I cannot explain how amazing the school is with giving me these experiences with such amazing people:)

They think it’s a private school with their restrictions and teachers are quick to tell you they know your kids better than you do. I would not recommend this school to anyone. If your child has a disability they will force you towards the special school. Not inclusive at all.

I experienced a pathetic amount of bullying here, but other than that I have good friends. This school can be a pain at times

After 4 years of being at this school I've had a good time I've been having issues with friends but the teacher quickly helped out and resolved everything but the new principal has changed school uniform policies and its better now, alot of the classrooms are inclosed so its a bit easier to do work. In my opinion this school is good and could be a good school to send your children to.

I’m moving to officer and am considering moving to this school. Although it seems like there has been a lot of bullying and unfair treatment of students based on the negative reviews.
I’m about to move into year 9 and although the negative reviews are off putting I still wanna give this school an opportunity to prove me wrong. I shall see how this goes and I’m appreciative of people sharing there options and experiences.

We are moving to Officer and I would definitely send my Son to this School despite of so many negative reviews.
Negative reviews are mainly from those who don't understand that teachers are always your well-wisher. As you long as you have a firm commitment to your life goals and studies and you respect your teachers always. Trust me; no one can stop you from shining in the sky!

Worst school I've ever been to, the teachers hand out detention like they get paid commission and the whole detention and suspension system is broken. If there was a zero star option this school would be it.

~I'd like to start here by saying that reviews here are to be taken seriously for the most part. A lot of students have spent extended periods of time writing and improving reviews. Reviews here are mostly genuine insights to what is going on behind the façade of Officer Secondary College.
-Many truthful, well-written reviews used to be on this site, and the schools true average rating average around 1.1 stars. Around this time was when assistant principals and head teachers caught on to what was happening. A student who had posted a (less desirable) review had their real name on their account and had been taken to be questioned by an assistant principal within 15 minutes. From that person, some other reviewer's real names were revealed and about 3 more people who had posted reviews. From that point, they had decided that 4 people were too much and went to every class, demanding to see laptops. Their reasoning for punishment was that people had been spending class time to write reviews instead of learning. The problems start to arise here when not one single person who wrote a positive review was punished. To scan the whole school after 4 reviews that made the school look bad was a poor attempt at trying to improve the school's image and hide what had really been going on. Now we are left with 2 star average rating because 10-20 reviews had been deleted (all of which happened to be negative). Faking an image is wrong and shows the school's true colours.
-This school's 'equity' system is a poorly implemented mess that is inconsistent and does not encourage struggling students to achieve higher goals. For example, if there happens to be one of these less well-behaved students, the teachers simply let said student go. For these students, the teachers will never use the (also) poorly executed punishment system known as the "5 R's". This punishment system has 5 levels of punishment, ranging from a reminder to total removal from the classroom. There are quite a lot of these students (50-70% of all students) that wonder aimlessly around the classroom and entering other classrooms and the teachers don't even bat an eyelash. This poor implementation encourages distraction. In a way, this system causes the less well-behaved students to spread like a virus, as more and more students are becoming distracted and leaving their seat/classroom. This system has low expectations for less desirable students and does not encourage them to reflect on their wrongdoings. The encouragements for these students is remarkably low and reminds outsiders that many students here will never achieve anything, and that is partly the school's problem because they only encourage these students to do a fifth of the expected work and/or let them skip assignments. -This school's wellbeing team is an excuse at best. Anyone that has been through the process of wellbeing for mental/emotional/behavioral issues has described the support as painfully hard to receive and will usually not take action unless someone is a physical threat to themselves or others. This system is terrible as the school will usually see someone with a behavioral disorder as more valuable than someone who has been upset (this links back to the school treating less well-behaved students better than others). The school will simply set up a 'plan' with said upset student, and will have ongoing sessions for years with the less well-behaved students (why would they give them higher worth than emotionally hurt students AND only encourage them to achieve 2 sentences of work at 15+ years old? If these students aren't encouraged to work, they will be going out into the real world having to do way more work and will not have their plans with teachers anymore). The average student who enters a plan is been completely forgotten about by the team after a single 5 minute session with a member of their team. These sessions usually involve the student stating that are not feeling well, to which the member of wellbeing will give the same response (almost as if it were copy and pasted).

I genuinely like coming to school, and i have learnt so much over the years, but the kids here are actually disgusting and are obviously undisciplined.i want them to find out who is responsible and expel them instead of suspend them for a couple days like usual
