I used to work here lol.and if you know then you know, the owners just hire young people and verbally abuse them.the workers give better customer service than the owners.for several months i was constantly being burned from the boiling oil, which no-one seemed to care about, and screamed at for every slight mistake.thanks for the emotional trauma:) i finally left without notice after they took money away from my paycheck.they've never called till this day, it just proves their ignorance and lack of concern for their workers.if you want fish and chips go to Casey or Eden rise.oh and DONT work here!

Why is there no option to put 0 or even negative stars, I expected crispy chips and I get soggy spuds. This store prices their food like its a designer brand of food which is a complete crime.

Best fish and chips in the area. Always fresh and tasty. Also workers and owners are very friendly. Would definitely recommend.

By far the worst customer service and fish and chips I have had. We were overcharged (due to a mistake of Off the boat) called and advised them, we were also missing our 2L coke which came with our fish pack. My partner went back to get the coke and sort out the overpayment, however the manager was extremely rude, attitude was horrible and finished by telling my partner to take a small bottle of coke rather than the 2L after she had disagreed on the overpayment/ mistake (?) They refused to give back the money.

This was our first time ordering from here and love supporting the locals, however this is one place we WILL NOT support. As a first time customer, it is clear that the manager/owner knows NOTHING about customer service and building relationships.

I can see from other reviews that previous replies from the owner state they will “love to make it up to you” - definitely not the case and seems like a simple copy & paste response. I actually live in the north east and was visiting at my partners, and we are all about good customer service and fresh food. The flake pieces are TINY for the price you pay, the chips were missing salt and soggy, you can tell the oil hadn’t been changed in a while just by the colour of the food.

We won't be back that's for sure.

Do your self a favour and don’t order anything from this place.
Disgusting amount of chips for $12. Was told the order would be ready in 1/2 hr but after 1hr was getting really annoying. Half the order was siting going cold while they cooked the hamburgers. Cold chips and quantity is poor. Called to complain the absolute pig of an owner just argued over the top of me and not willing to listen. Do your self a favour and don’t go. All I can say is any good reviews must be written by them.
Absolutely pathetic and will never go back there again. Will go to Casey Central instead.

Worst fish and chips I’ve been too, waited more then an hour for my order, and was way to over priced, for $12 worth of chips that could even feed 5 people when called up to complain they were really rude and didn’t want to help so will never go there again

The food was very ordinary as the chips, dim Sims, potato cakes and calamari rings were all soft and soggy. It was a very disappointing meal.

Our favourite fish and chips, and the service is always so friendly. Wouldn't go anywhere else.

Really poor service and I definitely wouldn’t go here again. Over priced and some of the food was cold. Rudest person running the store and absolutely no customer service.

Fish fillets were sliced down to 4mm thick so was just eating batter basically, spring rolls were soggy much inside, squid rings had about 20mm of batter on them, would be ok if they left the fish fillets whole and made the batter a bit thinner.

Seriously poor quality food and such a rude manager. Never go here again. Over priced for the quantity you get. The waiting time was also ridiculous. I can only imagine the 5 star review were written by the owner and their friends. I honestly went by the reviews and am so disappointed. Never again!

First time and won’t be back. In fact I would actually really like a refund for he $14 I spent here.

Ordered fish, chips and potato cakes and they are all soggy! How do you make something deep fried soggy? I picked it up 10mins after ordering (was told it would take 15) and it’s less than 3mins drive home so don’t blame me. Everything is completely inedible as it’s wet and soggy and now I have to buy something else for dinner. What a waste. Listen to the other reviews and don’t come here.

A+ amazing customer service and delicious fish and chips!

The girls know exactly what they're doing and are so sweet and friendly. They are quick, efficient and always on the ball keeping us customers updated.

Our chips were exactly how we requested: extra crunchy with extra chicken salt - delicious! And the chicken schnitzel burger was very tasty. The schnitzel was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside.

Love their special offer of a free 1.25lt drink with any orders over $25.

Can't wait to go back again.

I am never going there again they woman there is extremely rude I overheard yelling at one of the employees the poor teenager looked like she was about to burst into tears and they never wash their hands very poor hygiene. I would suggest not going to a place like that.

Do not work here! Please!
This is a abusive workplace. You will be yelled at, degraded and insulted.
Especially by the female boss. I've previously worked here and there are times where I wanted to have a break down because of the female boss.
The fans also don't work because there clogged up with so much oil. You might struggle to breath at times.

Terrible place. Food is always soggy, burgers are always really fragile due to poor construction. The souvlakis are always half wrapped and fall apart instantly when opened, and to top it all off, they take forever. We ordered dinner and they had told us it would take 30min and after arriving we were sitting there for an additional half an hour we finally asked and they hadn't STARTED YET. Just go to casey or the Woolies fish n chip up the road as they are both 100x better.

Really frustrated. Order 3 x souvlakia on the phone, told 45 minutes. Arrived and waited 10 minutes then asked how long, they hadn’t started, and said they had no more meat for souvlakias and then proceeded to tell me there was no way I could have ordered them on the phone earlier. Not the first time this has happened. Always hiring new young cheap labour and having to train, always unorganised and having to repeat phone orders or missing items from order. Last time I will put convenience over quality, tired of always being let down.

Lamb of lamb souvlaki was so salty n overcooked. I heard very good reviews about lamb souvlaki but I don’t know any of them being to Oakleigh. This is the second time I tried and I think it was so salty last time as well

My two issues are 1. The older lady made burgers with no gloves on them handled my money with lettuce still stuck to her fingers and then proceeded to continue making burgers without washing her hands - totally unhygienic!
2. The older lady could have at least said hello and greeted me and the man who walked in after me with a friendly smile on her face before potentially contaminating our food.

Other than that, my own potentially germ riddled burger was fab but a little customer service and good hygiene practices goes a long way!

Food is very tasty, it's our local chips n fish, highly recommend the burgers, chips, and its really a pleasant place to get some food. The seem to be owners are really friendly, and are very experienced my favorite local fish n chips.
