Ocean View Fish & Chips Shop

Qqq the seafood pack for 2. The food was very oily. The battered fish and crab was good but the battered prawn, Calamari, scallop was almost tasteless - most likely frozen and not fresh.

Top notch fish n chips and with minimum wait. Very generous servings and the fish is so fresh it falls out the batter. This place is going to go off in summer. If you craving old fashioned beach fish n chips, this is your place. Such a good atmosphere also if you dine in. Special mention with the calamari, this is the best menu item. The family pack also is great value.

Your best option for the area. During holiday periods it gets way too busy and you will end up waiting a long time. However the staff are very nice and the food is good.

Local to the area and have ordered from here many times and known that this fish and chip shop is reliably unreliable but took the foolish punt tonight anyway. Was told 50-60mins for pickup but was just shy of 2hrs. Asked for a discount for being so late but was abused by who I assume was the owner. Thanks for belittling your customer’s who have kept their hungry children awake waiting for food because you cannot manage a time clock. If you had been honest with your time estimate we would not have put an order in and come back many times again when more quiet. Now we will never return, this place could be so much better, the location is great but the the management is not.

One of the best Fish and Chip place in Ocean Grove. The Butter fish is a must try. Walk down to the beach to enjoy your meal. It's a ritual whenever we have friends visiting us. Waiting time during busy/ holidays period can be up to 45 minutes, so call in advanced to place your order. Parking spaces are available behind the shop.

Highly recommend! Fish was cooked perfectly. Chips and potatoe cakes were cooked perfectly too.

DON’T waste your time! $11 for a piece of grilled flake that was disgusting in size and stuck to the cardboard it was on. A complete rip off and we will not be back!

Grilled fish was fresh (no slice of lemon lucky I had some at home!), chips and crispy potato cakes on the side were great. Find Ocean View to be the best Fish n Chips in OG, I have never been disappointed with the food.

Would be 5 stars if the team can get the customer service queues organised and clear. Saturday night in Winter and having challenges, Summer is a nightmare. One clear line for phone orders and the other for taking orders.someone then calling the names as food is ready (Even better on line ordering like Chang Noi Thai would be amazing!)

Ate here 12 months ago and have been counting down the days till we were back in ocean grove so we could again and it was just as good as last time, without a doubt the best flake I’ve ever had, so good I got 2 pieces, can’t understand how anybody could write a bad review about this place, it’s the best.

Yummy large fresh flake, scallops & pumpkin cake always reliable, convenient, consistant been going for 7 years. Highly recommend quick sevice & good value.

Over 1 1/4 hrs wait.when you arrive there is no proper system to know where to go to wait for your order. Very confusing. I know it's busy, but this isn't working well. Chips were stodgy and dry. Calamari inedible.

Food was ok. Service was prompt for a busy day. The grilled fish was very dry and it would have been nice to have a piece of lemon accompanying it. The tartare sauce tasted like it had sweet chilli through it, which i personally wasn't a fan of.

Best fish and chips I ever had in Ocean Grove, fresh fish taste delicious. It's always busy since it opens up its door.

Terrible service. Sat at pick up for 30 mins for a simple 2 person order, even after asking once and presenting number they said next up. But nothing. Then dazed and confused with zero solution said "someone has taken your order" useless. Got a refund. Hire some adults with initiative.

Best Fish&Chips in Ocean Grove. Always fresh and tasty and the service is always great. We love the little extras we receive with our order.

Fish and chips were average and lady told us 30 mins for order but took over an 1: 10 for a $14 order

A shout out to the fabulous staff at Ocean View Fish and Chips. Summer is always extraordinarily busy and the staff work really hard to prepare great food, get orders out as quick as they can and meet every customer’s expectations. We are locals and regular customers. We called this evening, we’re told 1hr 10 wait. When we arrived, it had just been wrapped. Perfect timing! We fully understand and appreciate we will have longer waits when the town has an influx of visitors, but it’s always worth it. To anyone complaining, impatient and rude to our local kids, get a life. Everyone is doing their best to accomodate your needs.

I was there in 2021 for xmas it was honeslty the worst fish and chips i have ever eaten the potato cakes were not fresh but straight out of a packet i had a lamb souvlaki the meat was boiled and the tomato was rotten absolutely disgraceful. Shocking place
