Norsiah's Kitchen reviews
48 Home cooked food feels. Choose a few dishes to go with your rice (try the coconut rice, very yum) 4-5 vegan options available. Plenty of permutations to try!
Affordable and good quality lunch food that sates and stays with you until the evening:)
A cheap alternative to Indo-Malay food in Melbourne. A stroll away from Unimelb at Parkville. Best advice: go with the combo menus! They take card payments for a minimum 10 AUD purchase (as pictured). Wouldn’t say the best tasting, but it somehow brings me back home.
Lovely hidden gem that offers authentic Malaysian cuisine. Takes me back to my trip to Malaysia at such a great price. Will definitely return~️
Heart filling food. Fond memories during my uni days coming down to Norsiahs, also perfectly good price for students
This is definitely an hidden germ if you are looking for very authentic Malaysian food. They have varieties of curry and it is super tasty. You can mix and choose whatever you wanted. They deep fried fish give the crunch you need for your rice. You can also choose coconut rice if wanted. Price are definitely affordable. This restaurant is medium size. Big group are welcome. Staff are very friendly, but sometimes can be very busy. Walking distance to Melbourne central. Plenty of car parking nearby. Very convenient with public transport. Tram stop is just outside.
Some of the best food in Carlton. Homely, tasty comfort food.
Great portions for the price and friendly staff.
Humble little restaurant, AMAZING food! I highly recommend going here and ordering yourself the most beautiful delicious food. The staff were so friendly and the price is fantastic. You will not regret it! I promise!
Great taste, good portion, affordable, and friendly service. I love their ayam goreng/fried chicken and rendang very much. Taste like mom's cooking.
Best budget rice and Malay curry spot in town. Cheap and simple food options, like lamb, chicken curry, beef rendang, fried chicken, priced at 9 dlr for 2 meats, rice and a vege.
The authentic Malaysian food. The taste never changed for the last 10 years. Good thing about this restaurant is the hot meal is still served under $10 (2 meats plus one vege with rice), where else can you find a sit in dinning place with this price tag?
Hi to all wonderful staff in Norsiah’s for your excellent authentic Malay dishes since I first ate in March 2012 & continued to return patronising every time I visited Melbourne. Firstly, foodwise, Norsiah’s top notch with original spiciness of the sambals & rempahs. The serving portion is large & appropriate. The rate is MOST REASONABLE & cheapest around for students for a decent meal. The service is hospitable & efficient. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND to anyone & everyone who love original & authentic Malay cuisine to savour, support & spread this humble family restaurant. Greetings from Malaysia & Singapore. My top ten favs are Beef Rendang, Lamb Curry, Beef Curry, Chicken Curry, Fish Curry, Sambal Ikan Bilis, Sambal Brinjal, Sambal Ocra, Fried Rempah Chicken & Sayur Lodeh.
Delicious and authentic! Extremely value for money, staff are very friendly as well. Do try their beef rendang:) fyi they are open on Mondays - Fridays between 11am - 5: 30pm
The best part of a meal is when it taste home cooked with love. So delicious and cooked by a lovely family.
2 meat 1 veggie on rice for $10.
Perfect for student budget.
Meat very tender. Delicious food. Staff very friendly. Very clean inside
Delicious food.friendly staff.the business is ran by a lovely family.one of the best Malaysians I've had.definitely recommended.
A friend brought me here on my first week of uni. Haven't been able to forget the food or the staff in 13 years.
Be nice to these guys, especially uncle.
Had the lamb curry and sweet and spicy chicken for lunch. Loved how they didn’t over do the liquid from the curry with the coconut rice. Portioned wonderfully! Just what I needed after a very long and stressful morning. Highly recommend!
Best quality taste curry rice at very reasonable price.visiting this place for past 12 years since being a student and still the same tasty food amassing.
Update your working hours. I came all the way from Werribee. I got there at 3pm and it was closed.pathetic
Decent food at decent prices. Usually city cafes are not as good as suburbs, but Norsiah's beats most suburban eateries.
