Noodle Canteen

The shop itself is quite dingy. Not the cleanest takeaway we've been to - especially given the only worker was sitting there not doing any work. Perhaps spend some time cleaning the windows, floors and back of house area? Or perhaps spend some time updating the prices on Google - we were struck with increased prices, as they weren't updated on Google. Apparently upon raising this, they haven't been updated for a few years. It doesn't take long to update it. It just shows a level of unwillingness to keep the business clean and presentable to new customers. The food was average and nothing special. Hardly and vegetables and meat. Noodles weren't very nice - almost stale? Bowls were small and weren't even packed tightly. For over $12 per bowl, and given the size of the bowl, you'd at least want to hope they would fill the bowls a bit more. Wouldn't recommend, and wouldn't come back.

Tao is a genius! Custom noodles however you like, always so tasty and fresh. Great value and the best laksa (and steamed dimmies) in town. See you there.

This offers the best nasi-goreng In Ballarat. I'm lucky finally to find this place. Easy to park.quick and friendly service. Highly recommended!

I normally don’t stray from my favourite noodle spot, but decided to give Noodle Canteen a go tonight. It was absolutely delicious. I couldn’t believe how quickly it was ready and we got two very filling bowls for the same price I usually pay for one at my other place! Yum!

This place is one guy working all day. I’ve never seen anyone else behind the counter. He takes your order while making anyone else’s, it takes no time at all. I don’t think I’ve ever waited for more than 10 minutes, though it’d be worth it at 50. Tastes absolutely fantastic every time, fresh, hot and delicious. Incredibly well priced as well. If you want takeout Chinese food, this is the place.

These would be good noodles in Melbourne and you'd expect to pay double the price. Fresh veggies and generous serves. Easily the best noodles in Ballarat, and the price is ridiculously low.

Generous quantity at very reasonable prices. Simple and customisable menus. The taste was nice too. Quick service.

No! I mean fast, very fast foods. From order to 'delivery'. Max 5min. Serious! None of this waiting, waiting stuff.

Great food with amazingly quick service. This place is run by a single guy that does it all … and he does it all exceptionally well. Good variety on the menu and what I got was delicious. Would highly recommend, don’t let it’s non-descript appearance deter you

When I was ordering a man told me this is the best place for this sort of food in Ballarat. I was happy with my meal!

It was very yummy. Haven't had good noodles like this (from Ballarat). Was almost like being back in Bayswater! (another good noodles place of you ever over in the SE suburbs)

My experience at this place is always amazing. The dim sims by far my favourite. They are the best I have had in my life and always draws me back to get more. The restaurant all run by 1 man, with him he always carries the most genuine of smiles of which you won't find elsewhere. I do recommend this place and try the dim sims!

Some of the best fried rice I've had (rice box). Come here all the time and the owner is an absolute gem of a man!

Portion size is also very good for price.

Tried it tonight for the first time after a recommendation. Absolutely awesome. Ordered the #4. Definitely my go to for noodles from now on. Nice bloke who runs the place too.

I had the Supreme Seafood Noodles. Seafood included was poor, vegetables old and the flavour average. The service was quick but, not cordial.

Great value and fast. One man show here doesn't disappoint. Can make any meal vegetarian. Nice owner, good food. I'll be back.

Every time I go to Coles I see this shop across the road. I can't help myself i have to go in for the number 7 satay beef, with extra beef. Quite satisfying and the owner has it finished in under 5 mins in and out. You could not complain.

The Rice Box is always fantastic, and I'm there often. I've only seen 1 guy work there and he's always quick and nice. Price is good and serving sizes are always packed!

Small Shop is not very fancy, but the food was fresh and tasty. Would recommend to anyone looking for good food to take away.
