Is the best Asian restaurant I have been in Melbourne, the service is magnificent good, fast and kind, they are patience and explain the menu to you with love and smiling, the dishes are a blast of flavours, a mix of familiar texture and new sensations
The quality that you received is above the price you paid
I strongly recommend the Coco pudin dessert

The only con: there are so many steps, in order to get to the second floor

What an incredible experience.

From the moment we got to Niubi, we were treated with upmost hospitality. It was a very busy Saturday night but the lady at the front counter went out of her way to create a table for us which we were so grateful for.

We ate on the top floor - which had an amazing cityscape view and gorgeous architectural features to match it.

Service was very warm and patient. We ordered a laksa with chicken to share as the portion size is very generous. This was honestly the best Laksa I have ever had. I savoured every ingredient, from the fresh tomato to the orca and juicy chicken.

Dessert was Caramel Creme - I loved the slight bitterness of the caramel sauce as it countered the delicate sweetness of the creme

Overall so impressed by Niubi, prices are modest for the delicious quality food they produce, cannot wait to return.

Their fish head soup is an easy 10/10. Portion is huge and it's bursting with flavours. Would definitely come back again.

There are fewer and fewer choices on the menu, it change a lot I won't consider this restaurant next time.

Amazing service! Our first time to come here and everyone is very friendly and welcoming. The food is incredibly delicious too. Staff are very accomodating! They making you feel very special. Hoping that they will maintain this 5-star hospitality as this is what amazed us the most.

Ok ok.hard one here to review. I would've loved to give it 5 stars and might change this review in future. Here's why. The place is great, clean, friendly service, quick and efficient. The food is actually quite good - recommend the fish head curry (it doesn't sound appealing and for those who can't handle fish bones, but if you're daring, it's pretty awesome) the laksa though was quite average, the black soy garlic pork belly though is tremendous and worth going just for that. Now, here's why it's 4 stars for me, I think the menu needs to be rejigged, it doesn't quite offer what people want and I feel is trying to be a bit fancy, but heck that's just my two cents.

Craving for crab vermicelli and this is the only place that has it. It was good but soup was not thick and not enough flavour. The roast chicken was great. Teddy bear milk tea was good too

Everything was really good, if I had to pick, the prawn toast will be the winner and also don’t forget their special milk tea with a cute bear in it!

We visited a few weeks ago and had roasted duck, pork belly and their cute milk tea with teddy bears on top of them. Everything was really delicious, we would definitely come back to try more things on the menu.

Throwback to the delicious dishes my friend and I had at Niubi on 22 January 2021 (omg so long ago? !)

I got their Hainan Chicken Rice as I remembered I was craving them so badly, and this dish satisfied my craving!

We also shared the Prawn Toast with Salted Egg Yolk and they were the bomb! So crispy on the outside and meaty on the inside, and the sweet and saltiness of the salted egg yolk was the perfect flavor for this dish.

Not forgetting the cute drink too! The Limited Nuibi Milk Tea? With the little puppy ice on top was such a lovely touch.

My friends also said their noodle & rice dishes were yummy and flavorful!

Staff were super friendly and service was fast and efficient!
We only tried the hainanese chicken rice and buttery prawns and they were alright.
Coconut pudding and milk tea were both great!

“They made us feel happy to be there” was the first thing my girlfriend and I said as we walked out of Niubi. The service was unbelievable! Everyone was smiling and seemed happy to help us
The signature garlic black roast pork with dry noodles is a must try

Next time I go back, I’m looking forward to trying the live mud crab dish which our waiters were so excited to describe to us. It sounded amazing!

Food: Great variety and quality.
Service: Top service when visited post COVID – they had never been open before the lockdown.
Location: Lane way outdoor seating was what got us.
Value: Upon first visit it was bang for buck. Also options for a more exquisite menu with lobster/crab etc.

Summary: We found outdoor seating in the laneway very suitable for a weekend lunch. Would return for group dinners to try out their seafood pots.

The food is great, service is excellence. The staff noticed that I was the frequent guest and gave me a special "free" treat. Definitely recommended.

I'd rather to rate 0 start if it has. Very very disappointed for the 2nd visits. Today is mother's day, we came to celebrate, but all the dishes are not qualified as before, one pork dish was even cold, Tofu tasted wired. I do not know why, service not good as well, I understand it is busy day, but eveything seems not right, will never come back, so disappointed.

They've got some great lunch specials for $18 - quite a filling portion and you can get a drink. PLUS make sure you get the salted egg prawn toast (and the teddy bear milk tea cos it's so cute)
Some of my favourites were the curry laksa - honestly the perfect coconut spice soup for a cold Melbourne's day, and also loved how you can pick your topping and the noodle type (mixed is cool!). The Hainanese Boneless Free Range Chicken has the most aromatic rice!
The sauce on the Signature Garlic Black Roast Pork was a bit too spicy and salty for us.

There’s always an element of familiarity and homely deliciousness that comes along with any visit to an Asian restaurant – and Niubi, a newly opened 4-storey venue tucked away in the alleys of Heffernan Lane in Melbourne’s Chinatown, is no exception. Their concept is not only fusion Asian cuisine, but also somewhat of a fusion Chinatown experience, with a supremely chic and contemporary interior that creates a bright and “grammable” atmosphere. Gone are the days of indifferent customer service, cramped oily tables and MSG-loading that leaves you craving for water after, because Niubi dares to challenge your Asian family gathering stereotype in all the right ways.

Came here for lunch and I’m really pleased with the service and quality of food here. Their $18 lunch deal is also one of the best I’ve ever had. A dish + a drink for such good quality food and service in the city is something to look forward to. My friend and I ordered their seafood laksa and the broth was really tasty. Tasted super fresh and authentic too. We also had their Hainanese chicken rice and the rice was super fragrant. Oh and you have to try their salted egg prawn toasts. They were soooo good! And of course, you gotta top it all off with super cute teddy bear milk tea.
