A cosy, comforting and casual dinner for 3.situated upstairs in an alleyway close to Stalactites (would not have known otherwise). Meals were yum and staff were friendly and courteous.i always love a noodle soup dish and we ordered 2x seafood laksas (photo doesn't do it justice). Only one serving size and it was more than enough for one person but i ate it all! The "lychee" cuttlefish was delicious and we ordered a round of passionfruit/pineapple gin drinks.my other gf had roasted duck dry noodles and she was satisfied.no fine dining just a great catch up setting for small or medium groups.

Located in alleyway of Chinatown. Nice dining area and service. However, the food quality is somewhat average. The
Roast duck is too salty for my liking. The most stand out dish for the night is the mix of hainanese and roast chicken. The chicken rice is not bad as well.

Food was amazing, had lovely environment. Staff were firendly too.
I ordered seafood Laksa, which was 10 out of 10, the soup was thick and very well balanced in flavor, with fresh seafood which was very pleasent.
Other firnds ordered different food like black garlic pork belly which is something i'll go back for.
Bejin dock was also very good.

I've been here a few times and loved certain dishes that I had tried over each visit. Unfortunately I didn't take photos on each visit, but I enjoyed the Garlic Black Roast Pork, King Musang Durian with ice cream and Wagyu Beef Brisket on previous visits. On each visit, I do get the salted egg yolk toast because I love the flavour. This time round I tried the Cheesein' It Boneless Chicken also, which was okay. I tried the Hainanese Chicken on fragrant rice and my friend for the Roast Chicken on egg noodles - both were good. Couldn't help but get the milk tea which reminded me of a Thai milk tea or a cold Teh Tarik.

The chilli crab is roughly 800g, it is a spicy sauce but very sweet. At $188 it's hard to recommend.
The best dish we had was the eggplant/pork mince/salted fish bowl.
The bear milk tea is quite a reasonable milk teh

Uncomfortable seating. Some dishes were tasty (the stars are for the barramundi) but beef rendang was chewy and tough. Service was very slow and waiters were not attentive.

Nice and clean. Chilli crab and the prawns are very fresh and delicious. The price is a little bit dearer.

Great Singaporean food! Such a nostalgic meal for my friend and I. Prawn toasts we’re so crispy and tasty, and the roast duck was so juicy and tasty!

Staff were super nice and friendly!

Ordered a simple meal close to the kitchen closing (half an hour) and waited around that time until I got my order. This was not bad however, it was an understandable occurrence since there was a table with 10 customers that had a dish arriving every 5 minutes or so whilst I was a singular diner. For $3 I bought a pot of tea that they refilled twice, I am not sure if this was because either my meal was delayed, I was dining by myself or because it is something the staff usually do. After I was billed they apologised in the form of complimentary jelly, I forgot what flavour it was but it was much appreciated even if I don't like jellies very much.

One of the best laksa places to eat in city, very large portions for the price and fried chicken was delicious.

Great Singapore style food!

A friend suggested that we try Niubi. It is hidden away in one of Chinatown's many laneways and is a hidden gem. When I saw they had fish head curry, I was very excited and it did not disappoint.

This time around we tried the roast duck on rice, fish head curry, okra with fried scallions and our friends tried the teddy bear milk tea. The roast duck was generously portions and done very well. The fish head curry is the most authentic I have tried since leaving Singapore. We only tried the mild level but I am keen to go back to they the spicier versions. The okra dish was something new for me and it was also very good. The milk tea comes with a cute frozen bear on top but is in more a Thai style milk tea.

The service is very good. Friendly but not over bearing, fast and efficient (just like in Singapore).

The decor is nice creating a nice atmosphere. It was a little noisy as there were a few groups dining at the same time so it's not the place for a quiet conversation.

Overall, we were very happy with the food and experience. Recommended for group gatherings and nights out.

Recently visited Niubi for dinner as a family just before attending a show at a theatre nearby. We ordered some entrees, mains as well as the teddy bear mild tea and watermelon juice. Overall, we thought the food was delicious, couldn't fault it at all, came out in a reasonable time-frame, quanity was also very generous and the customer service was very attentive and prompt. Good, clean facilities as well. They were even nice enough to cancel an order after it was cooked after we told them the sauce was meant to be on the side rather than mixed into the dish.

1 star for customer service
2 for the lovely little complimentary dessert
3 exquisite flavour and presentation
4 for timely service.

4/5 stars.

Last star I couldn’t give due to the extremely outdated price mark up on the lobster dish at 180$

I felt as though considering you can purchase one, same size and all at Woolies for 20-30$ the price here was far too inflated.

A beautiful flavour, no doubt about it. Everything else was impeccable. I was just shocked at how much the lobster was. I wanted to try the dish as I had heard so much about it. I purchased it, regardless of my friends saying I was crazy for spending that much. We expected it to be in line with other restaurants who have lowered the price to be in line with the market value. Regardless of the price it was VERY delicious.
The price tag was not.
Everything else was moderately priced and the milk tea was delicious.
Lobster 9/10 (brought down to the crazy price but still 100% amazing) guys no bueno on price.
Egg and tofu 10/10 worth the money
Roast duck 10/10 worth the Money
Happy eating!
4/5 stars is bueno flavour and service.

Hope you guys find a cheaper source for lobster.

Food were served lukewarm and was told that they were meant to be served this way. Teddy bear novelty tea cost $9 which is kind of a rip off because it's made from the drink except frozen into a teddy bear mould. Cost $100 for 3 pax (for information only), it's fairly reasonable price. Disappointed with the quality of food BUT the customer service was fantastic. Won't dare to be recommending anyone if they're food fanatics.

Amazing food! The staff were very attentive, warm and welcoming! The lobster in buttermilk sauce was 10000/10. We'll definitely be going back.

Coming from south east asia, i was hoping to find dishes which would take me back to those which i fondly remember eating while growing up.having said that, i am probably bias but niubi would need to up the ante in order to compete with the numerous asian eateries around town which are able to present much more authentic flavours in their recipes (and at affordable prices).

Great to be out of lockdown! The interior looks nice and clean and the service was great for the first day of reopening. The food (we had 3 different laksa dishes) was very nice. The "bear tea" looked cute but we didn't have it. Check it out.
