Nishikian

This place seems to have been very good at one point but appears to be in decline.

Sushi, bento and ramen dishes have all been taken off the menu and there is only one type of sashimi available. The rice bowl options are also very limited and all portions are rather small for the price paid. You should only visit if you are wanting alcohol, shabu shabu, or yakitori. Special mention for the takoyaki as they were very good.

Ate there recently with 4 friends. Ordered lots of small dishes, mostly grilled and skewer stuff. It is a shame they don't have sushi and sashmi at the moment (except for salmon), otherwise would have given it 5 stars.

Ordered delivery from NishikiAN often. Their oden is quite nice, lots of variety and the broth base is perfect.

Update 30 May during Covid-19 ordered takeaway and was not disappointed, amazing food, beautifully presented and so fresh. Amazing! It totally hit the spot.

No Comment. Whether it’s sushi rolls, steaming bowls of donburi or ramen, or side dishes straight off the grill. Simply a work of craft at its finest.

A Wonderful local Japanese restaurant operated by “real” Japanese. Love their deluxe sushi & sashimi ship-platter! Extensive drink list. OK price list, not too dear, not too cheap either!:)

Real Japanese owned with Japanese staff who really speak Japanese. Food is a little pricier but reasonably so & really delicious. Good place to eat at for celebrations. Very high quality preparation.

Food is nice but I don't like the ordering process. Once you select the dish, it is ordered straight away. There is no shopping trolley or basket that you can review you order, add or delete anything before it is confirmed. Maybe it is the tactic of the restaurant to make you ordering more.

This place reminds me of eating in a restaurant in Japan. Food is quite authentic. The katsudon is yummy. Udon is delicious, too. If you like to have a taste of different small dishes, go for Bento box.

Surprisingly busy restaurant serving a range of Japanese dishes including sushi and sashimi, grilled meats, and other small dishes. Food was pretty good - everything met expectations.

Service was a bit on the slower end - there was quite a wait between ordering and the food coming that we forgot about it!

I adore this place. How could any tempura batter be so light? I haven't had a bad dish yet. Keep it up Nishikian!

Come here most weekends. Always alot of people. Kind staff and tasty and authentic japanese cuisine. Highly recommend you try it.

The restaurant was much busier than we had expected from the exterior.

Izakaya type menu which offered a wide variety of Japanese dishes. Ordering off the ipad was convinient and the dishes just came one by one.

Would recommend for a casual type gathering of small to medium group of intimate friends or family.

Nice food, relaxed atmosphere with limited bay views. Head just around to the waterfront for the true best of Geelong.

Best Japanese restaurant. Never had a bad dish or bad service. Everyone is always friendly even though they are so busy. Great atmosphere as well. Been to Nishikian at least 15 times

Tucked away on a busy street, this restaurant can be easy to miss, but it's worth making the effort to get to. Good food and a decent drink selection with a fun, relaxed vibe.
Ordering via the iPads on each table make it easy to track for orders and stay on top of how much you've ordered.

Located on a busy street, this place can be easily missed. Owned by Japanese, the food here was pretty good and authentic. Service was a bit slow though.

Love this place. Fresh food, and ordering of the iPad is kinda fun. Quick efficient service, and you can still escape for under $100 for two including a couple of drinks each.
