Menu has good variety, prices are reasonable and staff are hospitable. What more can you ask for!

Great food at reasonable prices. My only criticism is the lack of service. Granted they seemed short staffed today but i couldn't even wave over a waiter to get water.

Terrible! Order is by e notebook that no one explains because none of the staff understand or speak much English! Now we know procedure we will go back but first timers are in for a shock!

Deliciously fresh food.

Authentic Japanese with a wide range of traditional set meals for lunch. The grilled fish is not fishy, good sign if freshness, and the katsu chicken is juicy.

The agedeshi tofu is crisp without being too oily and finally the salads accompanying the main dish weren't wilted or dull.

Highly recommend as prices are reasonable as well.

Once we worked out menu ordering system on Ipad, all was well. Food was very tasty, lots of dishes to choose from, but come ad hoc so entree or rice might come last, but apart from that can't fault the quality. Slight language difficulty with some staff. Now we know the system we will return. Reasonable prices

Great authentic food (I've lived in Japan). Efficient electronic menu and ordering system. Friendly staff. It can get pretty busy. So booking ahead might be a good idea to avoid disappointment.

I passed this place for ages without realising it was an active restaurant. Very glad I eventually went in. Very nice inside and the food is quite good and reasonably priced. I've become a regular now.

Used to be good, have been a customer since many years ago. The visit last night is disappointing. Pricey, average quality, the sashimi, shabu shabu, fried food, and rushi are just so-so. Portion is smallest you can find in town. They don't offer decent size rice / noodle / bento - it's the strategy you need to keep ordering entree size food. We were told it's a one-and-half hour session, but in an hour it's already the last order - banned from even ordering drink / dessert, or even review the ordered items. Okay, the last sushi roll came 15min after the last order and we needed to leave with half empty stomach. Definitely the worst Japanese dinning experience I've had - rushing, restrictive, low quality food, and expensive. Maybe a commercial success but failure in hospitality and food service.

Tasty Japanese food with a great ambience and vibes.
A fantastic variety of authentic Japanese dishes here, all efficiently placed into an ipad ordering system at each table. Highly recommend the sashimi, as this will melt in your mouth. Agedashi tofu, udon noodles and okonomiyaki were amazing too. Highly recommend for anyone in the area!

We’ve been coming here for years, the food is consistently good and well-priced. Now with the new addition of the robot waiter, my 6 year old is obsessed with this restaurant and asks to come back every week!

Super delicious Japanese food. I will highly recommend this place. Great selection of Japanese food options. We tried the Salmon and Tuna sashimi as well as several nigiri options. We will definitely be coming back for more food to try.

Very bad.
The portion of the chicken donkatsu was as small as you could ever imagine, way much smaller than the picture on the menu, the smallest size that I ‘ve ever tried of all the Japanese restaurant that I’ve ever been. Not only the chicken, the size of nigiri also shrunk and so other dishes. Worst dining experience ever. Will never come back again and highly NOT recommended. The food was ok, but we had a terrible time with the ipad type menus. There were 7 of us and one a child. There were only 2 ipads and 3 families spread out trying to look at them. With only a few items on each screen it takes a long time to scroll through. We had to hand them around and some people didn't even get a chance to see all the menu as it took too long to try and share the devices! The food didn't arrive all at the same time either, as it took about 15 - 20 minutes for all order. I am not actually sure how good the food was because as the last person ordering I didn't even find the dish I was hoping for and just quickly ordered something from the first few screens as others were already eating!
Unless there can be an ipad for each person, I wouldn't go for a family dinner again.
It wouldn't have helped thinking that this was meant to be a meal of small dishes for all to share as dietary needs differences made it so everyone needed their own meal anyway - but we couldn't eat together.

Yummy Japanese restaurant with nice ambience. I liked the convenience of ordering on a tablet and novelty of the robot waiters! Highlight was the aburi salmon. Would return!

I have been coming to Nishikian for several years now with friends and family and it has NEVER disappointed me. This might sound like a bold claim, but it truly is my favourite Izakaya style Japanese Restaurant.

I love how some of their dishes change seasonally as it means there's always something new and fresh to try. Their recipes and ingredients are authentic to the real deal in Japan. The iPad system and robot waiter (who is absolutely adorable by the way) are awesome too, makes everything very easy and efficient when paired with their lovely staff.

Delicious and authentic! Brought me back to Japan with the atmosphere and cleanliness. Will definitely come back to try what else the menu has to offer
