New Somali Kitchen

This place has one of the best Somalian food in the street. I recommend everyone to try their go to lamb dish.
I’ve tried their mango dessert and just beware that it isn’t sweet at all but quite sour.

Absolutely incredible experience. Never have i ever been to a restaurant where i felt obligated to leave a positive review. The food was unforgettable and the service was both genuine and warming. Perfect for any intimate occassion, where you want to remember a good day out.

Went in thursday 1pm opens at 12pm was closed Called friday they said out of meat and called saturday and the lady says they closing 630pm? But they opening hours is 12pm-9pm Was looking forward to trying the food but just put off now with the time these guys are meant to be open

The rice no tasty is like chewgum i swear. And the past sauce is like pasta past no test, dry and uncooked Nope not going back thanks I shouldn't made that much order before tasting.the only think was good was is the chilli.

I love coming to this place, the food is delicious, and when the owner is there, service is impeccable. But of the numerous times I’ve been there they almost always have food shortages of some description.

Today I went in at 5: 30, they had already ran out of food for the day. Hours before closing, and with a butcher just a few doors down. If they can improve on that, it’d be 5 stars easily!

First time trying Somali food and it was delicious. They serve complimentary soup and bananas. The staff was very nice and polite and did a good job. The place is small but cosy and with clean and nice ambiance. Overall, a good first time experience

We had a booking tonight at New Somali kitchen. We were really excited about the dinner as our friends have had good experiences so we booked in advance at 8: 00pm on a Saturday. We got there, each of travelled from different parts of Melbourne, we go in and the lady behind the counter tells us not to come in as they have finished food! She apologized for this but I still think this was very unprofessional and unfair to us. They could have called us one hour before and cancelled our reservation. They could have offered some sort of a compensation for us going all the way there. I’m very disappointed about the way they handled this and their zero respect for their customers.

Had the lamb shoulder with aromatic rice and salad. Lamb was well cooked, juicy and tender. The owner served us a lovely lamb broth on the side to begin with. Place is tidy and clean and the staff was very welcoming. Will be visiting again in sha Allah.

We were greeted by a beautiful looking African man named Addow who said “ welcome home” what an awesome first impression!

After checking our dietary requirements we were immediately served a cup of lamb broth. We were recommended the slow cooked lamb shoulder sharing plate, which we promptly agreed to.

I had the regular size NSK classic with fish, and complementary lamb broth. So tasty and wish I came here earlier (after living in Flemington for two years). Food arrived quickly and was very filling.

This place is amazing, the staff is really friendly the food was terrific. Good portions good prices. 100 % recommended. The slow cook lamb was super tasty, the rice was full of taste and aromatic, the fish was delicious. Ohhh it also comes with soup and bananas. Everything was perfect.

Loved the meals, great value for money, clean, wholesome & a great family atmosphere. You are greater by the owners with a warm “Welcome home” which is a great touch. One of the many fine dining experiences in Flemington.

What a marvel of a woman the owner of this place is. Not only is the food fantastic, but for such an intimate shop she's clearly thought through her furnishing fixtures. From the faux marble wash basins to the authentic and classic serving ware no stone has been left unturned. Thoroughly impressed, and far exceeded my expectations. AHsan, AHsan, AHsan, Mumtaz!
