Nevsky Russian Restaurant

My wife and I were delighted by the most wonderful restaurant experience that we have ever had. The food was sensational. The service was perfect. We could not fault any aspect of this traditional dining experience. And will most definitely return.

Love the food and the service received was amazing! Had dinner with my friends to celebrate my birthday, all the cuisines were delicious. Although we were too full to order desserts, we still got a free cake with candle from the restaurant and everyone singed the birthday song for me.
If you love or want to try some real RUSSIAN food, give a shot. They will not let you down.
And please please please try the KVAS drink if you want something special.

Haven't been to Russian restaurant for a couple of years, because of the place where I stay. Suddenly found this place while being in Melbourne. Food choice could be wider, but good enough. Taste - like at home. Staff is attentive and nice. I quite like this place and will visit again when in Melbourne. Thank you

Have never tried Russian food and have been eyeing off Nevsky for a while with no idea of what to expect. Kirsh (sorry if I didn’t spell it correctly, mate!) was an excellent host and explained the menu in detail and with patience. The interior is kind of old school with a cutesy fireplace in the centre of the restaurant. We started with the beetroot salad which wasn’t overly exciting (not sure if beetroot ever is), and the minced beef pastries which were tasty enough. For mains we shared the crumbed chicken patties which was reminiscent of a pub meal (not a bad thing!) and the dumplings in the butter sauce. Everything was tasty enough and an interesting introduction to Russian food although I think next time we’d be a little adventurous and order other dishes.

Very authentic Russian food (according to my Russian friend)! High quality and fresh food, lovely staff and very efficient kitchen! Love every dish I had that night and the shot of vodka! They do very good cocktails too remember to try some when you are there!

Recommended. I never had authentic Russian food ever and it’s fairly a great culinary experience for me. Just for the spicy lamb soup, the lamb meat could hardly be found in the soup but the flavour is sapid and mellow. The senior female waitress had definitely drunken vodka before the service as we could smell the alcohol every single time when she spoke or served us, and she seemed a bit distracted compared to another energetic male young waiter. Generally a good experience and will give another try next time.

First time in Nevsky, cozy restaurant. Hospitable hosts who made us feel welcome and comfortable, delicious dishes. Amazing home made ginger flavored vodka, must try! Highly recommend.

Excellent traditional Russian food. Good selection of dishes and very authentic tasty cuisine. Very much recommend this restaurant.

This wonderful place was beyond expectations! The food was AMAZING! Fantastic atmosphere and service! I highly recommend visiting Nevsky Russian restaurant and enjoy the wonderful flavours of Easter Europe has to offer. My only critique being half Polish, is to offer a bigger bowl of sour cream!

First time we tried Russian cuisine. Was a great experience. We ordered the banquet which gave us the opportunity to try a variety of dishes. Highly recommend. Staff were great too.

We had a banquet and loved every dish. The wait staff were excellent…. A pleasure to have serve us with the amazing skill of being friendly but never intrusive, making the experience even more enjoyable. We would highly recommend this restaurant and hope to be able to eat there again soon.

We had such a fun experience here! We ordered the Chefs Table, which was a wonderful four course meal. It was not too big but was very filling, we got to have a taste of many different dishes - highly recommend trying it! The staff were kind, friendly and helpful.

Niki offers wonderful service, the atmosphere was like home and the food was decently Russian. 50-60 dollars per person will get you a feeling of a fine dining restaurant experience. Remember to book in advance for dining otherwise you won’t have a table.

Don’t forget to try their Russian standard vodka.

We took the bunquet 48$pp and every single dish was just delicious! Very authentic traditional Russian cuisine that goes perfectly with a shot of the good old vodka. We will definatly recomand and come back for another round very soon! Thank you!

Good food, great service. Great for winter dishes. Recommended if you're up for something different.
