I spent two hours at the National Vietnam Museum and enjoyed their collection. Vast and impressive, including the actual and diecast model military vehicles and aircraft, guns, medals and a photo gallery.
The staff are polite and supportive in case you have any questions or need any assistance. The museum has been kept nice and clean, and they are working on developing the building.
I recommend visiting this museum for any visitors to Phillip Island.

One of the best historical and factual displays dedicated to the true history of the Vietnam war.

The museum not only has some really important historic artifacts, but seriously emphasises the total human aspect of Australias involvement, showing call-up papers, the way young men were called up, the training they underwent as well as life on and behind the front lines.

At the front is a Caribou aircraft. The mainstay of the RAAF for 45 years, along with a carrier based Grumman Tracker.

Inside is a Bell 47 three seat helicopter, a Bell Cobra two seat USAF attack helo and the workforce of the war, a Bell UH Huey.

Out the back is a Navy Westland Wessex helicopter, a Cessna Bird dog forward control aircraft and a Canberra Bomber all in various stages of restoration.

The Army features a 113 bug, or Armoured Personell Carrier and a Centurion main battle tank.

The Navy is not forgotten either, with a dedicated section.

While these hard exhibits are impressive, its the human stories being told around the museum that are truly humbling.

Easy access off the road, with car parking at the front.

Wheelchair accessible throughout, including the upstairs sections.

An extremely well put together exhibit of our involvement in the Vietnam War.
Provides insights from those that were sent and answers a lot of questions.
We spent an hour there but could easily have spent longer.
Definitely worth visiting.

An excellent presented series of displays, including photos, equipment and well written and researched information. Good sound and light show, especially considering it has been around for quite a while.
Great staff.friendly, helpful and informative.
Such an important part of our history.

Hidden gem of Phillip Island, For those that might not typically visit a place like this, it's well worth it, exhibits are fantastic, you'll learn things about the Vietnam War you never knew and it's run by vets as well so you'll be able to hear one on one stories as well.

A must visit! We learnt so much about the war and it was a massive eye opener to be upclose with the fighter planes, helicopters and trucks used in the war. Our 9 and 10 year olds were amazed the planes and learning about the Vietnam War. We were lucky to be served by one of the war veterans who clearly explained how to navigate the exhibits to get the full experience.

Huge details of the whole conflict. Lots of information about each item on display. And a huge range of items from uniforms to military air craft. Well worth going.

If you're at Phillip Island and haven't been here, it's worth a treat. They have a gunship, APC and tank, a few other vehicles and infantry equipment to look at.

Exhibits that talk about the grittier parts of the war, the reason for it (from both sides) and some of the more famous conflicts

We went there because our 4 year old loves guns, airplanes, etc, so it was a perfect place where we could show him all of them.

We had a look at the board while driving to Phillip island and thought to pay a visit while returning.
It is worth to spend an hour or two here.
This place updates you with, what had happened, how it happened, and how did our country contribute in the war.
Kudos to our veterans

A really great setup chock full of info and memorabilia. You don't have to be a veteran or war historian to enjoy it!

Compared from the previous year's I visited, it improved their exterior exhibit by adding the full caribou aircraft displayed aside from the grumman tracker. The interior is almost the same but it maintained its exhibits pretty well. The hologram show is interesting, something to learn about the Vietnam war specially the aussie side of story.

We went there last week. The whole site has come along so far. The volunteers are terrific with their knowledge and support for the place. My little bloke is only 5 but he is so interested with the displays. The new land that has been acquired across the road will be the best. We bought a brick for the wall. Support our Vets
