My Tho Restaurant reviews
62Filthy restaurant, not fresh. Staff are very rude, witnessed a young girl get told off by staff last night because they stuffed up her order, very unprofessional and disrespectful.
My sister got yelled at in front of the whole restaurant by two employees. She ordered a pho soup bowl and a serve of rice paper rolls with her friend and then went up to the counter to order another 2 rolls (one pork and one prawn). They then brought out 8 rice paper rolls to the table, and when she told them she only meant to order 2 they started yelling at her aggressively because the kitchen got her order wrong even though she specifically said 2 single rice paper rolls. Everyone in the restaurant went quiet, and felt bad for her because several people approached her asking if she was okay. This service by the owner and other employee was completely disgusting, unprofessional and humiliating. You should be ashamed of yourself as a local business. You were in the wrong for taking the order down incorrectly and you are in the wrong for verbally abusing your customers. She should not have even paid for that meal after your behaviour. I will never be coming here and neither will our family or friends. Would rate 0 stars if I could.
They have a really delicious food and the best thing they treat the people so nicely and lovely
They serve a tea with your meal that a really good idea
Highly recommended
Service is good! The Vietnamese grandpa doesn't say much but is friendly. The place is really busy from 5.30pm onwards but food comes out quick.
-1 as the pork chop was rather tiny compared to other Vietnamese restaurants that serve com tam dac biet.
Crispy chicken was so crispy but flavor was mild.
Would return!
Its been a long time since we visited this restaurant. The renovations are clean and modern. The food we ordered was very good and plentiful. We had a very pleasant lunch and we will return.
Please do not go there. I ordered food but they made it too overcook. My dish turned black and very bitter. I complained with the owner and they did not say a word sorry or anything. I dont want to get cancer because of that overcook bitter piece of meat. I got so many bad dishes from this restaurant. Never go back again.
I tried many vietnamese restaurant in Melbourne, this has to be on one of my favorite list. Their BBH (bun bo hue) is the bomb! Bomb of flavors in your mouth without damaging your wallet, definitely will come back again soon!
Two of us came to My Tho Vietnamese Restaurant on a Tuesday night for dinner. We ordered the vegetarian spring rolls, pork wonton noodle soup and lemongrass chicken vermicelli noodles. The food was delicious and served in a timely manner. I also think the portion sizes were very generous and filling. I will definitely come back here next time I am in Preston. Thank you to My Tho - I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone wanting a good Vietnamese meal!
The bland and tasteless food at this place is as disappointing as the rude service. Rice vermicelli with prawns on sugar cane = vermicelli, cucumber, a few less-than-fresh bean shoots and a bit of spring onion - not a herb to be found. The prawn paste was oddly coated in fried breadcrumbs and was so diluted with some tasteless extender it tasted like a soggy prawn cracker - that was cooked on a wooden skewer, not the expected sugarcane which like the herbs was totally absent from the plate - that was unceremoniously dumped on the table by an angry looking woman who looked like she was about to slap someone. This place is surrounded by much better Vietnamese options, don’t waste your time here
This is what I call Pho. I’d go as far as to say best pho I’ve had in Melbourne. Go for the large bowl if you can, the Rare beef is extremely tender and amazing. Would come back again and again
One of my new favourite restaurants on High street. I ordered the vegetarian char kway teow and banh xeo which were both so delicious and very generously sized. The staff are lovely and the service was prompt - I ordered for pickup and the food was ready in about 15 minutes.
Broken rice with Pork chop, the pork chop was too tiny.
Diced beef portion was not enough today.
Presentation of the food were not so good today. Disappointed.
Very yummy pho (my fav is the one with tripe (aka thingilie thingilie). Special fried rice also yummy.
Best Pho. First place we visited after lockdown because we needed it. Better than anything in Victoria Park.
Can’t fault it. We bought from here on takeaway last night and we’re seriously impressed. The food was fresh, well made and very tasty. Every dish was good without exception. Rice paper rolls, salt and pepper squid, chicken coleslaw, fried rice and beef noodles. They were all really good. We’d order again anytime.
Some of the best Vietnamese food I've had in Melbourne everything was perfectly cooked and had great flavour. I will deffiently be back and very surprised how good the food was and not overly expsencive.
Loved the vermicelli salad, but thought the pho doesn't really suit our taste, a little bit too much clove/cinnamon.
This seems to be one of our favorite Asian restaurants in the North located in Preston Market. Great food and affordable meal prices. They offer variety of asian rice dishes, noodles, stir fries, soup, chef specials and sweets. We never skip to order their salt and pepper squid. Their Pho soup ranges are absolutely delish especially during the cold weather. We also love their rice meals (Crispy Chicken with Tomato rice) and combination noodles.
I would suggest that it would be better if they find a larger place as customers keeps on coming back and the restaurant is often jam packed especially during market days. We will definitely come back. Highly recommended if you are after quality food at a reasonable price. No regrets!
Always crowded and you know why. It is because the food is best. I love goig to my tho. O usually have stir frys. I believe others will be good too.
I’m usually very lazy in writing the good or bad reviews, but this time I just wanted to get it out there, after trying several Vietnamese restaurants, I have to say that I had one of the best pho from them.we had a chicken pho and a rice vermicelli meal there and it was just so fresh and so good. If you have love for Vietnamese food, please given them a try, every cent worth:). Keep it up guys, loved the environment.
