My favourite place to shop. I've barely bought anything brand new since MM opened- there's just no need when their preloved selection is so good! Lots of indie labels, organic cotton staples, so much goodness ️

My favourite place to shop in Melbourne. Such a thoughtful business, very committed to the community and I always walk away with something that makes me feel fresh and fun.

Extremely rude service. I had taken 12 items - mix of winter and summer clothes - some were brand new with tags intact - very much in the style of the clothes they had on display. Shop assistant went through the items and told me they could not take any since she’s looking for ‘light summary clothes’ - umm what about the skirts and dresses - I would wear these in summer. And she had not even had the courtesy to fold them back in the 3 bags I had. Left them in a heap and I had to pack them back neatly. I felt humiliated and embarrassed - she treated me with disrespect and arrogance. I’ve since then heard from a friend that she had the same experience. I donated my clothes to charity instead and they treated me and my clothes with respect.

Fantastic stock. Great prices. Brilliant idea. Outstanding service everytime, at both stores! I'm obsessed with MM and how it helps me extend my wardrobe! Couldn't recommend it more highly!

Absolutely terrific well priced second hand clothing store. If you cant be bothered trawling thru op shops this store is perfect. Sustainable and great value.

I discovered Mutual Muse on Instagram when I was starting my sustainable journey. I was inspired by their ethos to reduce consumption and waste and sell on your clothing pieces. I’ve made many purchases now and they continue to be incredibly friendly and helpful (answering any questions you might have and very prompt delivery!). They have a huge selection of clothing and accessories to choose from (MANY Gorman gems have been found through mutual muse - at a price I can afford). Many rare finds to be found at both their stores and some smiley faces to greet you, with purchases that make you happy and help the planet in the process.

I cannot speak highly enough of my experience here. The staff went over and above, choosing clothes they though would suit me, there were dresses I never would have tried on without encouragement but have ended up loving and wearing to death. I love the concept of this store as I can generally never find clothes in Op Shops, I can't find the good things amongst the junk, but to have everything sorted and sized makes it so easy, and they stock some great brands. I bought about ten things from them two months ago when on a trip to Melbourne, they kept the store open an extra half an hour while I was deciding and trying things on. They have a generous returns policy (can return within 7 days for a refund or exchange I believe), I changed my mind about one dress and took it back to the Brunswick location a couple days later and the staff in this store were also lovely and very helpful.

I frequent this shop as a local Thornbury resident, there’s always great items to look at and regularly purchase (though items do seem to be getting more expensive and some quality is dropping)
Something that does bother me and I usually look past this but feel now something must be said. None of the staff ever say hello when I enter nor goodbye when I leave. There’s a coldness and unwelcoming feeling, never the offer to help and only spoken to when I approach the register to pay. This past couple of weeks when I was in they were talking about a coworker who had been fired and they were talking about meetings and such. What happens in your business is your business, the customers don’t need to hear about this when it’s already uncomfortable on a regular basis.
I feel sad having to write this but honestly it just needs to be aired so that it can stop and people can enjoy coming into the shop. I hope I can return to a happy and welcoming environment where everyone is welcome and there’s no click to fitting in.

Really easy process to sell items with them, and if you opt for a cash payment instead of store credit you get the amount transferred straight into your bank account rather than having to wait for the items to sell like at other consignment stores

A wonderful group of women providing Thornbury (and now Brunswick) with a sustainable way to stay trendy. I have sold clothes here for store credit that never lasts long as there is always a item I must have!

A great boutique store that has a well-curated selection of pre-loved but good condition clothes and accessories. It’s great to see a store that is passionate about re-using & recycling clothes rather than focusing on fast fashion. They also have a wide range of sizes and styles to suit anybody!

Mutual Muse is a great boutique that offers an eclectic mix of quality clothes, accessories and shoes. I always find something of top quality that fits my style here. And I love the ethos of recycling fashion and buying good quality that lasts. Thanks for the great experience MM team!

As at writing this nowhere on the website does it mention it is for females only. We only found out after hauling clothes down there and being informed, rudely, by the person that worked there. Terrible service.

Staff were not friendly, and a lot of people have said this about this store, they are judgmental and Very picky on what items they wanted, which I can kind of understand. Selling old out of season dresses for $30- up. Yet took two lazybone dresses I had worth over $150 and gave me $36 which I had to use as store credit, (but told my friend she could get it in cash). I felt way to uncomfortable to say anyrhing because the staff were so unfriendly. Just a heads up for people wanting to sell there clothes, would recommend going somewhere else and not wasting there time.

I really love shopping here. I always find items I love. The staff curate an amazing selection of well made clothes and accessories that are in good condition. Plus I can sell my stuff I'm no longer wearing and know it will be enjoyed by another shopper. The women are super lovely and I always feel welcome browsing (and trying on half the store). Keep doing what you're doing! I love that I can do my bit to reduce fashion waste and buy secondhand.

It's so nice to be able to shop preloved clothing and accessories knowing it's all such great quality. I've also always found a really inclusive range of sizes which can sometimes be tricky when buying preloved clothes:)

Glad I made the trek to Thornbury on a recent Melbourne holiday, I didn’t find anything that day but I’ve continued to follow mm online and it only makes me wish I lived a little closer. Great service for online orders and fab selection - can’t wait to visit again!

Love this place so much! Great to have a local second hand shop with quality Aussie designers and fabrics. Also fab to see the size range expanding
