이선생 국밥 Mr. Lee's Foods reviews
52Authentic Korean food, but a bit pricey for what they're serving and the dishes weren't particularly impressive. Menu is fairly limited, not many options.
Go early to avoid the queue (small place, hot soupy food =hard to eat quickly)
No nonsense, No frills set up, but good Traditional Korean food-
Sundae (blood sausage), jokbal (braised pork hock), gug bab, su yuk etc. Hard to find this kind of food in Melbourne but they do a very decent job.
Friendly staff, quick service and homely food. The complimentary radish was so generous. Weeknight was quiet around 6pm but by the time it came to around 730 it was packed! It's not a large restaurant so it would be good for small groups, otherwise make sure to come early! The pork hock was delicious, along with the combination of sauces, pickles and salad. It would be a good serving size to share with 4 people. I would recommend getting a couple of soups to share (not one per person unless you're all starving) if you're also sharing the hock. Lots of food especially if you order the pork soup with noodles as there's also rice on the side! Simple menu and straight the point, they do it well and we left very happy and full.
Homely cheap Korean food. I actually like the limited menu, simply honest, down to earth food. Definitely felt like I was at a Korean aunts home for dinner
Small establishment with many diners. A few options but the pork soup and pork hock is our family go to. This store was recommended by some of our korean friends saying as close as you can get authentic Korean meals
We went for dinner, and the soup was quite nice; however, my partner was not a big fan of it. Very small restaurant that the menus on the wall are all in Korean.
Food served with rice and service is alright. Very busy at dinner time as well.
국밥 is a combination of white rice & hot, rich soup. The soup at Mr Lee’s is thick, flavourful and so so healing, especially when you add extra pepper, the flavour is just so comforting? The rice here is top quality, so good. Jokbal is okay, not a big fan bc of its skin? But the kimchi here is so good.
The options are quite limited since people come here mostly for the gukbab. They have 7 dishes in the menu, and all of them are pork so if you’re not a fan of pork, prob it’s not your first choice ️ Overall, this is exactly the soup for your soul!

It is the best Korean restaurant around Melbourne area (I mean Top #1), and particularly pork hock on the menu is recommended.
My usual go-to place for a good pork/soondae gukbap. The suyuk and jokbal are good as well. There is limited seating capacity in this restaurant, so do come early to avoid the wait. Highly recommend this place.
I had Steamed Soon Dae, Pork Soup, Pork Hock. It's amazing! It made me feel as if I was in Korea. All the dishes, side dishes, sauces are so delicious and authentic. Every single of them is perfect. Exactly what I used to eat in Korea! I'll definitely come visit again. Thank you so much!
I've never had soondae (a vermicelli sausage) before and seems like it's rarely found in any other Korean restaurants, it is very good! I like the pork hock too - so delicious! They don't take reservations. There's no outside tables, and they do follow the density limit rule strictly, so you might need to wait outside when it reaches the population limit inside of the restaurant.
Ok maybe the dishes are just not my taste. But it seems to be popular and long queue to get in. Must be an acquired taste.
Legit. Hands down the best 'rice soup' bowl place in Melb. Worth driving down for. The 'soondae rice soup' is the winner for me as well as the radish kimchi that comes on the house. It all can be washed down with the milk coffee from the vending machine. Legit taste and experience of Korea.
A family-based Korean restaurant specialises in traditional soup rice. No fancy menu, but it’s a perfect place to warm the winter up with the food.
Had a combination (Soon Dae and Pork) soup, plus the tender ham hock to share for 2 ppl, and an extra portion of lettuce (the ham hock portion are slightly too much for 2 ppl, better share for a group of 3-4).
It will be better if the ham hock can come along with more lettuce!
Overall, homely delicious food with reasonable price. Easy-parking, but booking is unavailable.
Definitely will return for the delightful soup!
Very authentic, comparable to Strathfield restaurants (recent Strathfield not 5 yrs ago Strathfield).
Very transitional Korean restaurant. This restaurant is a local small one. There are only 5-6 items on the menu. Main pork soup and served with rice. The soup is MSG free. You need to adjust the taste with the salt, black pepper, sesame powder and chili sauce. Actually it was very nice.
There was also a new dish called Pork Knuckles. The portion was great and taste was nice.
Side dishes were also good except the green chili one. Be aware as it is very spicy.
First cup of self serve coffee is free. $1 to refill once.
Overall it is great.
Be aware no booking is available. Please come early at about 5pm to avoid the queue and long waiting.
Pork Hock, soup and thinly sliced pork. Absolutely delicious. Wash it all down with cold soju. The Hock is huge so come with an empty stomach.
Quality establishment - any low reviews can be explained by the food not being their thing, rather than it not being good.
Delivers on what they promise, which is hearty Korean pork soup.
Unpleasant food, unpleasant stink in the whole restaurant and the old woman was unnecessarily rude. A safety inspector should check to see if this place is up to standard, the stench was unbearable.
Hidden gem, very genuine Korean restaurant in the outer suburbs.
Make sure you book that hock in advance
