Really dirty place and the service was awful.
We have to asked waiter to change plate for us because it has not been cleaned properly. The dumplings are over priced - under cooked.

Love their steam sui mai, which is different than any other place we’ve seen. Their pop corn chicken is also yummy, not fried using oil that had recycled many many times. The place is very tight with space, so had to try your luck to get a seat.

Visit before heading to the airport for my flight back to Sydney. Informed the staff beforehand that we are kind of in a rush and the dishes were sent out real quick. The Taiwanese friend chicken is super delicious and so does the hot and sour soup. Will definitely go again for our next visit in Melbourne for other dishes on the menu.

Wow, small little restaurant with everything we ate left our mouths zinging. Well priced. The prawns were amazing. Next time I’m in the city I’ll be making the trip back.

Bloody discrasful service, charged us an extra $7 for no reason. Menu says taiwaneese but honestly, there's nothing authentic about this place. Save yourself the hassle and extra charge, go somewhere else

Outstanding dumplings and Peking duck roll. I had the chicken dumplings with lemongrass sauce and that was so tasty! Highly recommended

A recommendation from a friend so decided to come by. Cosy place and advice to make booking during peak period. Enjoy the dumplings and tried the fried duck rice. Great taste. Will return to try others on the menu.

Food is delicious but the service is terrible. Have to constantly ask for chilli sauce and refill for the water when a jug and sauce should just be at the table.

We did not make reservation but the staff let us in before next reservation arrival. Food taste good. We had TFC (Taiwanese Fried Chicken), Prawn Dumplings (蝦餃) and Kung Po chicken.

Went for the Xiao Long Bao and they definitely didn't disappoint! Also had the Emerald pork dumplings and pan fried beef dumplings which were really tasty, but was so busy eating and getting into it we forget to take a photo to add with the Xiao Long Bao!
It is a little small so you may feel a bit cramped especially if you have more than 3 or 4 people, but the smaller space suits the atmosphere pretty much perfectly.

Ordered kun pao chicken for lunch. While the dish is average, it is over priced and had to pay for rice as extra.

Hidden off the street, a great spot for authentic and tasty Taiwanese dishes. Perfect Xioa Long Bao!

The food was ok, I will give them 3.8 stars on foods. But not sure that was very Taiwanese cuisine?

The reason I’m here, that’s because the service was awful.

I don’t know what happened with her tonight, or maybe she is just unhappy in general. She was not friendly at all. You might had a bad day, not even a smile and was rude for all the service. We are not asking for a fine dining service. But just general restaurant experience. You did gave me a bad night. That’s not good enough, and unacceptable.

Never go back again, there is plenty of options in the city.

Located at a quiet street near the Southern Cross station, their Xiao long bao and dumplings are really underrated and definitely one of the best in Melbourne. Their Taiwanese popcorn chicken is absolutely flavourful and tasty as well. This is really a hidden gem worth checking out if you're after a good Taiwanese cuisine.

Amazing food, the home made tofu was the best. And very friendly and nice stuff. Best gastronomic discovery of the year:)

We love Mr Huang Jin!

Wanted to try some Taiwanese food and everything we ordered was delicious. Fried chicken, pork ribs, duck spring rolls, green veg. Couple weeks later we ordered again, and had duck fried rice, dumplings, lamb noodles… and fried chicken again!

Delivery is fast and great service, thank you!:)

If you can't get in to Din Tai Fung this is a great substitute. The Xiao Long Bao was good and the pork ribs were excellent.

The best dishes were the Duck Fried Rice and the desserts. Avoid the Xiu Mai as, bcs It's jut a Xiao Long Bao with a prawn on top. Xiao Long Bao tastes is exact size of frozen ones you get from grocery. The Beef/Chicken wrap was strangely spicy, definitely not as good as the traditional taiwan style (E.g. Kitchen Republik - Box Hill). Beef Curry rice wasnt great and the Dumplings were Gyozas. The service was ok but half way through the waitress stopped talking/smiling, perhaps she overheard my comment about the xiumai.
