Mornington Pier reviews
41Very nice place. Stroll down the pier, lay on the grass, walk to the beach. Have a picnic. BBQ available too.
Great pier to take your kids. Safety handrails on both sides and the pier itself is wide.
More importantly, ample free car parking spots.
Just a beautiful place to go for a walk and have a coffee at The Rocks.
Have seen some nice sized snapper caught here as well
Beautiful pier, a nice walk with lights all along the length of the pier. It’s wide so you can go in a big group and its a perfect spot for fishing! It runs parallel to the bay so plenty of spots all the way down the pier from top to bottom.
Great little place to visit, plenty of viewing points, nice and clean, has a Dunny there as well.
Picture-perfect portside pier in an idyllic settings. Stunning views of the surrounding coastline and ocean. There's a classy function centre overlooking the water (a wedding reception was in progress on the day I visited). A take-away kiosk is present also, though I didn't get a chance to sample the menu.
The pier is lined with fishermen and the surrounding docks with fishing vessels, leisure-craft and marine rescue vessels.
The spot seems popular with Japanese tourists and I was astounded to see a drone being used to carry fishing tackle hundreds of meters out to sea while the fisherman sat on the pier.
Great place to spend an afternoon fishing, and several fishermen caught modestly-sized fish (a size that required measuring tapes to ensure compliance with fishing regulations). Will definitely visit again!
Nice morning. A bit overcast. Nice marine smell, clear water and some fish are visible while walking past
Great pier to fish off and for bringing the kids. The lighting along the rails was an added surprise as it made setting up any rigs a lot easier. The pinkies were on just at the top of the tide but nothing of size to take home. Will definitely come back and give it another go.
The palce is really good and not too far from Melbourne. Also, you get all the main fast foods like KFC, HJ and Mcdonalds.
Very nice place to hang around, go fishing and relax. Shops and eating places and some pubs on the walking distance. Best for an evening walk watching sunset
On a hot sunny day can be a short but tiring walk to the end, but there is both a cafe and restaurant there to refresh. Watched the fisherman for a while but the fish were not biting.
Had a day trip. Was really busy but it was great to see people enjoying all sorts of activities. Beach, park and washrooms. Everything was available at reasonable distance. Was family friendly!
One of the best piers on port phillip bay with great views, great fishing and close to a fantastic swimming beach. Very busy with limited parking in summer but worth the visit.
Nice spot to see beach and pier.tjere are 2 cafes at this point and can enjoy breakfast and coffee at rhe cafe.in the moring, nice to have coffee or breakfast at the open air table.
Beautiful pier, always buzzing with people. Lots of friendly fisherman n woman on the pier. The cafe there is perfect for a sit down meal over looking the water. Great for a quick coffee on those cold windy days. Best fish n chips.
Disabled parking is limited. There is only one space near the cafe/restaurant. The picnic area/playground is well resourced with tables, BBQs, water fountains and pavilion. A great spot for family celebrations. Toilets, including disabled toilet nearby and accessible.
Pier was great.beautiful morning. Fish were biting.unfortunately all undersize pinkies! Where were their grandads? !
Beautiful pier in Mornington. You will see lot of boats and can swim as well. Plenty of car spaces and public toilets.
Living in Melbourne and haven't seen this place?
You are missing out on many things.
A MUST MUST VISIT SPOT.
Lovely little safe beach here at snapper point. For boat trailers namely but parking for cars to, picnic tables, change rooms and fresh water taps, small cafe/kiosk with a nice little menu. Indoor and out door seating. Pier is short but well maintained and a great fishing spot. Very popular for families and fishing enthusiasts.
