Mornington Golf Club reviews
43Amazing golf course, and even more impressed by the friendly service from the staff (Harry & Sophie)
In awesome condition right now.
A bit undulating seems like walking up hill for ever
I spent 5 minutes there lol the wind would have blown away any golf clubs balls participants spectators birds other such wildlife I was curious as to how a golf course looks like. Definitely more impressive than mini golf lol
Today wasn't such a good day for assessing Mornington Golf Club however seems dandy to me when there are not gale force winds driving your golf ball high into the trees against their will
Apparently weddings can take place here. Lovely
Since I know extremely little about Gentleman Only Ladies Forbidden (inaccurate in 2023) I would say the site of this sport is perfect I guess
Take a look for yourself. Posh I would call it
particularly as the homes surrounding the course are worth a small fortune indeed. You are right near the beach. End of essay
PS I stayed in my vehicle the whole 5min bar 30 seconds to retrieve some 9 stray pine cones for our fireplace drive carefully. Narrow road. You must share. Council didn't want to spend too much on a bitumen driveway I think.
Had a great meal, service was excellent the restaurant was very comfortable, good to see it up and running again, will be back
Attended a function there. Staff were very attentive and ensured guests were looked after. Overall the place was well laid out and would cater for a number of functions as well as members.
Always hard with group bookings but the food was well presented and staff did very well to accommodate all requests. Well done you.
Great views and attentive staff. Montana our server was polite, courteous and very friendly. She even took photos of our group. She is a great asset to have there
We were at the Golf Club for a wedding.
The facilities, food and staff were excellent, making it a wonderful reception.
Great golf at a reasonable price… club house is accessible and staff are friendly… recommended
Great course with fantastic views. Good food and drinks at the clubhouse. Great restaurant. Course upgrades working well.
Perfectly cooked steak and marinara with a superb view and excellent service. We’ll definitely be back.
The worst hospitality staff ever to work. Will is the worst person I’ve ever seen at a golf club and I’ll be reporting to golf Australia.
Amazing experience, played here for the first time and directly Love everything about this golf club. The online booking was very easy accomodating the visitor very well. The staff was helpful, explained all necessary about the course. The course is well maintained. I played from the back 9 which was their best set of 9.you will love the 10th till 18th. First 9, I think 3rd and 7th are the best. Green is very tricky, looks easy but it was not. Fairway relatively wide a bit forgiving for a high handicap plate like me. The 4th I guess is the toughest hole of all. Really enjoy playing here
A tricky one to review.
PROS:
- incredible views from most holes if the bay across to the city.
- fairways in good condition
- Brilliantly designed club house and spike bar.
- there are some seriously stunning holes.
CONS:
- slow play, 5.5 hours. Talking to members this is common. There are also no Marshall’s to ensure quick play and speed up slow groups.
- course etiquette - groups of 6 in front of us, some in tshirts, no one policing the “strict” course rules.
- I found the undulating fairways serious work, and the greens I didn’t enjoy either. Greens were rarely flat and all very difficult to read all day, I prefer course with more true roll that reward a good putt, this course probably rewards local knowledge a lot.
- the wind was crazy on the day we played.
- not much water on course
Golfers - I know we are all different, I’m glad I played this one but this one was not for me more than once a year.
We ate at the Bayview Restaurant and the whole experience was excellent.
Service, food and ambience has this place punching far above its weight.
You will not be disappointed.
Great course. Really good restaurant.
Bit wet underfoot at the moment.
No carts allowed.
Attended a large family event. Spacious function room with a separate area with dance floor & bar. Floor to ceiling windows giving a view across the bay day & night. Outside area for those that like a breather. Finger food was fantastic with great choices for all dietary needs.
Definitely a place to book any type of function.
A fantastic course for all players. Last 3 or 4 holes are incredible views and layout. Plenty of chances to score but not a gimme by a long shot. Pro shop staff super helpful and up for a chat. Facilities and club house are welcoming and well laid out also.
Perched on the hills above Mornington most of the holes provide great views over Port Phillip Bay.
The course is hilly, many holes will require you to manage a side hill lie. You will climb up and over the top of the course in the front nine, the back nine will give your legs a bit of relief as you have a few flat holes before climbing back to the clubhouse with some great finishing holes.
Condition is generally very good - I'm guessing that the course is engaged in a process of turf improvement.
A less well known course amongst some great courses on the Mornington Peninsula. But well worth a round.
Great venue for our work function, such a lovely outlook. Staff were helpful before and during the program
