Pleasant place, but we we’re told there where no bookings on event days… only to go and find out plenty of tables where booked in general. Drinks where good though.

We waited in line for an hour and a half to not even get close to front of the line in the rain and the cold.there was no communication at all about wait times and people came out complaining that it took an hour for drinks and and that they were packed like sardines so to not even bother.so much for “heaaaps of space for walk ins” on their facebook page

Absolutely disgusting lack of communication.and waste of time. Arrived at 8: 30 for an event that had “heaps of space for walk ins” and DJs playing till 1: 00. We waited in a line for over 2 hours only to be informed by the aggressive bouncers they weren’t letting anyone in. Wish they would’ve let us know sooner. Worst night of my life, I will definitely not be back.

Great food and beer, chill vibes and fantastic staff. We had some confusion about an order and they got it sorted quickly and were friendly and helpful the whole time. Will definitely be going back soon.

The beer is good with a huge selection of differing styles and strengths. The food however a bit pricey, good but pricey.

I brought a group of 20 visitors from New Zealand to Moon Dog World on Saturday, and they were blown away.
Right from my first correspondence with Bianca in their Functions team, to the smooth and friendly on-day delivery from Daniel and Livia, our group had a really fantastic time up on the Jungle Deck where we had our own semi-private space with good views of the entire venue.
Our food (yummy canapes) we'd pre-ordered was delicious and all came out in a nice smooth flow, filling our hungry bellies as we enjoyed a few of the Moon Dog liquid offerings.the Hazy Mango jugs were a standout, as were the Coolers.
I've always loved this place, and love the way the Moon Dog crew do hospo, right back to my regular days on the couches in their Abbotsford space, but MD World is next level and it wowed our group superbly on my craft brewery tour of Melbourne.

This place is fantastic if you don't wear the pants in the relationship and your wife wants to go somewhere 'trendy'. But if you are actually a fan of beer avoid this place and the vermin (small children) like the plague.

I just want to say the place is awesome we loved it but the only problem was it took 1 hour and 10 mins for our meals to come out cause they forgot about us and we went when it wasn't busy so if they fix that up then you can tell the place is going to be great when it's up and running properly the staff are awesome the food is great so many varieties of beer not to overly priced we will definitely be coming back

This place is the bomb. I love it so much that I’ve been twice already - once during the opening weekend and once for lunch. As a long standing Moon dog fan I had been waiting for MDW to open with anticipation and it did not disappoint. It truly is something unique - I don’t know anywhere else in Melbourne quite like it and take my hats off to the guys who came up with this place. Opening weekend was NUTS. Absolutely packed and there were a few teething issues with service (nothing unusual when a new venue opens). But I spoke to the staff today at lunch and they are already making changes to ensure both beers and food get out quicker. The staff are delightful and are more than happy to talk you through the beers, of which there are many and which are delicious. The vibe both times I went has been great - chilled, relaxed, but still full of energy. You can’t help but feel happy sitting near that glorious lagoon soaking in the atmosphere and having a beer. The venue is big but the different areas they’ve created and presence of the lagoon still creates a feeling of intimacy. It’s family friendly which is a plus - I took the kids today and they LOVED the playground. The food is delicious (I had a chicken Parma roll and waffle fries today) and it came out quickly. I can see myself spending loads of time and loads of money here. Welcome to Preston Moon Dog! Pleased to have you in the hood!

Good range of craft beer. All the Moondog standards plus a selection of others from a range of different breweries. I would assume these would change regularly. I was there on the Sunday of the opening weekend and they had about 15 different beers on tap. I think a few had run out as it was pretty busy so I think they might have more normally. Big place. I think there was around 300-400 people when I was there but it was the opening weekend. Lots of different seating areas. Deck chairs by the pool, booths, regular tables and bench style seating. Pool is just for decoration! If you're looking for a meal get a table with a number as it's table sevice for food. All in all a pretty fun place. I imagine it will be pretty busy on Friday/Saturday night and Sunday afternoons. Especially in summer. Another good craft beer venue in the area.

The coolest new place to hit Preston. This new bar and brewery feels like a theme park built for adults. It's got a massive selection of beer on tap (mostly Moon Dog plus a few others) as well as wine and cocktails. The food menu is pretty large as well with heaps of vegan and vegetarian options. The space is the main pull, of course, featuring a bright blue lagoon (no swimming, unfortunately), treehouse-style viewing platforms, an old school arcade, and way more secret hideaways/fun quirks. If you're stuck for what beer to try, the very strong and sweet Captain Raisin Beard is incredible.

Fantastic new local venue with an impressive fit out and friendly staff.
The space is great for group gatherings and families are made to feel very welcome also.
Food was a little under our expectations but the stand outs that must be mentioned were the delicious beef short ribs and tasty crispy chicken burger.
Beer and ciders were all a bit hit and miss and they lost a star due to us being seated in the upstairs area where they had rushed the finish and left a gaping hole in the wall. A bit chilly for Spring melbourne nights.
Besides those last points I think this place is exactly what the area needed and it will be a regular spot for us to visit with friends and family.

I don’t normally write reviews but wow, so disappointing.
Sunday afternoon packed with screaming children in nappies. Feels like a McDonald’s playground crossed with a brewery, except the burgers were bland and burnt and the fries were basically McCain’s frozen chips, unsalted.
Tiki bar not open and they couldn’t give change to use any of the arcade machines.
Avoid if you are a brewery fan.

Arrived early Saturday hoping to get a table so we could enjoy a few beers and some food, boy we were wrong - the place was FULL of people with children. After wandering around trying to find a spot, it was frustrating to see a few tables with no one sitting there but prams and bags stacked all around. Managed to get a couple of rounds in before the lines were so long it was almost impossible to get served. We ended up retreating to a different establishment that was much more suited to us. The venue is really nice but I certainly won’t be in a hurry to go back.

This place is unreal! Went down on opening night and it was jam-packed. As to be expected on such a highly anticipated opening. There was a slight wait at the bar, so all the staff started handing out free beers to people in line. Food was delicious, atmosphere great. Perfect spot for a Sunday session. Will definitely be returning!

Love this place, whether I want to go with the kids and have space for them to play while I enjoy some good food or find a quiet booth to sip a beer in peace. Fantastic atmosphere with something for everybody.

I was there on opening night and had an amazing time. I can’t wait to go back soon to explore all the different areas and beers!

Great venue but definitely has a few issues at the moment.

Beers were running out and the food took forever to come, when it did finally arrive it was very average for the price.

Might give it a shot another time

Spacious quirky venue but noisy as it has concrete floors and reflective surfaces. Great beer range and many good IPAs. How now brown cacao way too sweet and borderline undrinkable. Asked for a pint got a schooner but not corrected by the server. Schooners mostly at $12 are no bargain. Burger was a bit on the small side, a bit overcooked and at $22, expensive. I like the place but will be visiting infrequently in quieter times.
