Miznon Melbourne reviews
79Tasty falafel. Nice sitting outside people watching on Hardware Lane at lunchtime, feels very "Melbourne"
Really nice food, Tel-Aviv street food style. Very interesting unique menu. The schnitzel with mashed potatoes in it was delicious!
Really disappointing. I'm not usually one to write a negative review (I don't like being uncharitable, particularly in the current climate) but felt I needed to here. We arrived as a party of 4 at 8pm with a booking, as per the advertised sessions, but still had to wait 15 minutes in the stairwell for a table. Once seated, it took a full further 45 minutes (and requests from 3 different wait staff) to finally get a glass of wine at 9pm - a long, sober wait at the table definitely makes for a tetchy start to an evening.
We can't complain about the food, which was good: but the feed-me menu, at $55pp for 4 people, procured us far less than if we'd ordered the items individually off the menu.
We were only eating our very first course (and having our first, delayed, drinks) when we were told the bar was closing and we'd need to place final drink orders.and by the time our mains arrived, the staff had started stacking chairs on tables and cleaning the floor. We were out on the street by 10.30pm. Left feeling like we'd been an imposition on the place, rather than welcome custom. The place was half-empty but the wait staff, whilst friendly, were hurried and completely disorganised.
Sorely disappointed after having had so many rave reviews: the jocular atmosphere and hospitality I'd been so looking forward to was definitely not present last night.
Don’t recommend this place. The calamari wasn’t cooked properly. Portions were very small - more like a very light snack for such a high price. They had a poor customer service.
Great quality group sharing food!
The presentation/packaging that the food comes in is a little awkward, and has room to improve.
I would definitely eat here again
Loved this place! Beautiful food and awesome atmosphere! The frekkeh salad and lamb schwarma were to die for. The fried octopus and potato wasn't the best. The octopus was quite chewy and not much of a portion for the price you pay. Still 5 stars for me, will be back to try the rest.
Oh I wish we had more people with us to try more dishes! Chicken stuffed schnitzel and baked pumpkin, sensational, we sat at the bar and enjoyed the entertainment of the working kitchen! It was absolutely delicious and exceeded expectations. A well oiled machine, highly recommend!
One of the best Mediterranean restaurants around Melbourne CBD.
I've tried both Falafel and Chicken wrap, and they are very tasty.
Surprised by the rave reviews for this joint. We ate at night which was a mistake as the lunchtime fare is only available for takeaway not table service. There's no menu on their website so no way to tell before you go. We had overcooked cauliflower, unevenly grilled, mashed pumpkin - asked for the yoghurt dressing on the side but this never arrived, steamed green vegies, barramundi wings - lots of tahini sauce but only a few tablespoons of fish. Overall the vegies were very bland. They serve things in paper bags - an unnecessary gimmick that's supposed to denote 'street food' I guess. For $80 I expected more
BEST CAULI IN THE WORLD! I will sell my soul for the whole roasted cauliflower with all you can eat tahini sauce and bread. Enough said.
Amazing food, great service and really reasonably priced. The bag of beans is beautiful, the cauliflower is life changing and the chocolate mousse is sensational. Go there. Now.
Slightly underwhelming and simple dishes but well cooked. Not much variety in flavour. The cauliflower was too mushy.
Great food served up in a lively environment. Will definitely come back when the borders are open again!
Stunning dishes wrapped in humble kitchen paper. Simple dishes executed perfectly: not too salty or oily, just the right hint of herbs and spices. Fried octopus and potato is the understated example. All other bits were pretty good too. Beers were not bad. Interesting boys and girls staff separation between the kitchen and floor. Service was pretty good overall.
Great Restaurant! Yummy food and great service. Miznon has a very lovely ambiance. The place was very clean and well maintained. Th staff were all accommodating and nice. They made sure that we have everything that we needed! I highly recommend this place!
Lamp pita was was literally lamp chop with bones sticking out of the pita. The meat was so perfectly cooked that the bones slipped out of the pita effortlessly. Meat is very tasty. Portions a little small so you'll need a side, or another pita at least.
Food is not bad, but it is also very average at the same time. The way you are hosted, the way food is served is bad. Such famous sheff is owner of it. It is just a shame.
Amazing food. We had the cauliflower, dinosaur bone, falafel pita and the shawarma. The first three especially were phenomenal, tasty and nice serving portion. Excellent service. Very happy with the night. The chocolate mousse to wrap up was perfect.
This place is very popular - loud music, loud conversation, stressed out waitstaff that still give attentive service. Food is average. We tried the baked cauliflower - the best bits are the burnt bits - sweet but the rest is just soft and mushy. Fried whitebait came out cold and is not crispy. The pita with a bone is tasty.
Fund vibe and excellent food, pita with a bone was great. My only qualm would be the small portion sizes
