Amazing food, cozy atmosphere and efficient service - a wonderful place to have a cozy dinner to celebrate a friends birthday.

The wine are amazing and the food was so delicious- the burrata, cod roe and the stracciatella w stone fruit was amazing.

The barramundi mains was so beautifully cooked and delicious, however the crab risotto was a bit of a let down. I could not taste the crab, could only taste almonds for some really weird reason!

But we finished strong with chocolate pudding and baked banana icecream

Service was ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. Food and wine were good however waitress was rude and made everyone feel uncomfortable.
Will not return - even though I work in the area.
Do not recommend.

Great interior and atmosphere, food was absolutely on-point, and the wine list was impeccable (naturally, given Pia's expertise!) We ended up sharing a bunch of entrees and mains, everything was delicious. Don't snooze on the charcuterie, and the saganaki if it's available. Many thanks, will be back!

We spent hours of our Sunday afternoon grazing and sipping. Knowledgeable, hospitable and delicious. A gold nugget.

Food was delicious and wonderfully cooked. But when we brought a cake for my friend's 30th, the host called us rude, not polite and refused to store our cake in the fridge. Sadly won't be coming back.

Cozy wine bar with exceptional food. The whipped cod roe is addictive. Excellent wine list selection by glass and an impressive wine wall that displays rotating wines available by the bottle. Had a dinner for 12 here and the fixed sharing menu was delicious, showcased most of the best dishes, and generously portioned. Bookings recommended as it’s a small and popular place.

Terrific wine bar and equally delicious food. Service was very attentive. Would like to see more vegetarian and vegan options in their offerings however.

Underwhelming. I was met with a rather frosty reception by a staff member who was rather abrupt with how they spoke to me. I felt quite unwelcome so I turned around and went straight out the door. I will not be back.

Mister Sandrino, a truly delicious, local favourite. We shared the scallops on a pea puree, chicken liver parfait, cod dip, brussel sprouts with hazelnuts and pork belly. Sensational. Tasty as always and wine matching was superb.

We ordered an anti Pasto platter to go and a couple of bottles of red. And that took care of dinner with a friend.

Been wanting to come here for a long time. Great food, lovely ambiance and good wine selection… Customer service was non-existent! The host had negative energy from the get-go and I first thought that she was just having a bad day (trust me, we’ve all been there)! However, after reading the reviews, I think she may have a melanin preference and definitely does not like kids at the venue. Unfortunately for me, I ticked both boxes so at no point did I feel welcomed. Great place for SINKs and DINKs (maybe less melanin)!

The rudest host I’ve ever encountered - told my friend and I that we were not welcome in the store, because I had my 3month old baby with me. She also told me that I would have to clean up if ‘it’ made any mess.

Magnificent atmosphere and extraordinary food - something really special! I might also add that they are an incredibly honest family and my wife lost an expensive bracelet they found and they tracked us down to make sure that we got it back! The generosity of heart is also in the food and can’t recommend the place more highly!

I’ve been here 3 times mainly because I live locally and it’s got a very nice atmosphere. Sadly I’ve found the host to be very grumpy and impolite, almost rude on each occasion. Not once has she smiled or greeted us nicely while behaving differently to others. It’s almost as if she discriminates based on race.

Amazing place! I have been in person and it was perfect for a small group as it is intimate, with excellent wine choices and an interesting menu. Their at home menu for Covid is incredible, works so well and worth every penny. I will order again and again!

Mister Sandrino is a hidden, local gem nestled amongst a group of small businesses near the corner of Riversdale and Auburn roads in Hawthorn. I attended with a friend for our first post COVID isolation restaurant meal. Apparently they were doing some amazing take away meals during the iso period as well.
On entering, the ambience is cosy and elegant, with warm lighting and quiet background music. With social distancing, the restaurant/wine bar can only accomodate 8 patrons out of the normal 20.
The menu is displayed on a chalkboard with a small selection of entrees, mains and desserts, but not your run of the mill Italian fare. We shared the beef carpaccio and the meatballs for entree, the duck breast and the cauliflower risotto for mains and chocolate mousse for dessert. All the food was wholesome, delicious and prepared to a high standard with a touch of flare. Compliments to the chef, Daniel.
Our host, Pia was most welcoming and recommended an excellent bottle of Italian wine to complement the meal and coffees were great.
Give this place a try.you won’t be disappointed.

A delicious dinner delivered to our door! There were excellent instructions and it was easy to reheat. We ordered whipped cod roe to eat while it heated and it was so addictive, really lovely with the hits of finger lime and salmon roe. We had the lamb neck in fino sherry, onions and capsicum which was pull apart tender and so full of flavour. The duck with puy lentils was the perfect hearty winter dish. We can't wait to visit IRL and enjoy these dishes in situ. Still, for an iso night in with a bottle of red, it was perfect!
