I was given a ganglion nerve block for pain and a very unsettled hand.

I was referred by my surgeon to Dr Meyer for help with the management of intense pain after shoulder surgery. Treatments to that point (OxyContin, Targin, Panadol) had been largely ineffective. Dr Meyer undertook a comprehensive and respectful assessment of my physical and emotional condition and proscribed an analgesic regime that enabled me to sleep more comfortably and to be able to return to work quickly. She very much helped me understand the pain I’ve experienced and what progress I could reasonably expect between reviews. This was extremely important, as I had been confused and distressed by the ongoing pain. Within one week I had increased mobility and reduced discomfort. With all respect to General Practitioners, I would strongly recommend that anyone with ongoing pain ask for a referral to Dr Meyer - pain management seems to be much more of a specialisation than one might realise, and Dr Meyer’s ‘bespoke’ treatment quickly yielded significantly more improvements than I’d anticipated.
