Milawa Cheese Company reviews
67A rather breezy cool day at the MCC but enjoyable. Lovely food and great customer relations. The adjoining wine tasting had a wonderful musket! Thanks to all.
We came on Friday noon, 2nd week school holiday. It wasn't busy day and had full cheese tasting
The Milawa Cheese are very rich and creamy.
The special price $5 was very generous price for Milawa Chevre, King River Gold & Milawa Camembert. They were all good quality cheese.
Staff are really kind and knowledgeable.
I purchased 4 types of cheese and gone within 3 days
Here is my tasting notes:
Chevre
Light flavour, rich, fluffy and creamy.
Goat Camembert
Light and it'll be nice with light wine or Templanillo
Milawa Camembert has medium saltiness
Milawa white
Tasty salty cheese
King River Gold Fish
Seafood tasty salty cheese
Blue cheese was so rich and delicious
I would definitely come back
Good pies, vanilla slice and shredded chicken soup.
The cheese is really nice and the customer service and cheese tasting was excellent
Just stopped in at Milawa cheese Factory, such a beautiful spot, with a huge covered/outdoor space for coffees or a meal. Lots of cheese to taste & a gorgeous giftshop.
5 stars for sure!
It's more of a shop that you can try different types of dairy products (cheese, ice cream etc) from local areas.
We tried the cheese platter and some were a little too salty. Having said that, I didn't regret trying as it's good to know what's available and the different variety of cheese
Absolutely must must go here. Very inviting staff and they create such nice cheeses. There are three to taste on rotation and we bought a tasting plate which had 10 cheeses, grapes and biscuits included.
The wine and gift shops are excellent, the staff is very friendly and helpful. The cheese shop has a very good assortment of cheese produced here. Love this place
Excellent service, amazing range of produce, way more than just cheese, but the cheese is excellent, very helpful, happy to be back!
Maybe a cheese making experience, a better display of produce or a tasting plate would of made us buy something. Still worth seeing.
Wow. The wife came back home to Melbourne with the Miilawa white. I tried it.actually did my head in with all the flavours and creaminess and that big bite at the end.couldn't work out actually what type of cheese it was.but i loved it.looked it up and it all made sense.
A masterpiece. Thank you
It has changed a lot but unfortunately not for the best!
We visited the area and all places were booked out or full of people. The first thing we found strange is that the Cheese Company was empty. In the past we could barely find a parking spot and not even dream to find a table! Yesterday (Saturday about lunch time) the place had one or two tables occupied and the shop was empty. We soon understood why.the cheeses are extremely overpriced, there are not a lot of variety of other things either.some jams, spreads, pickles and similar; some biscuits and breads and gifts. Everything extremely expensive.
We took friends with us and have been talking so much about the place that should be the highlight of the trip as one of our friends is really into cheeses. It was a huge disappointment.
Idyllic surroundings to sit and enjoy your cheeseboard. Large selection of locally made cheese and condiments. Highly recommend the Cheese Tasting Tray
No tasting at a cheese factory? Blamed it on covid but quick to say “here is a $10 tasting plate”. Seriously? Lost a $100 sale.
Cheese great, cheese shop great, food great and all staff great except for person taking orders. To the extent we felt not welcome. Hopefully next time we get a different experience.
Bit hard with 24 hr notice for tasting due to covid but understandable. Our attendant was very friendly and knowagable.
Poor service. In these difficult times the last thing you would expect is aggressive service staff. Competely unnecessary and an extremely poor look for what used to be an iconic and friendly destination. As a local resident, I was shocked. Go next door for far better service at either of the adjacent shops.
How some people review is beyond me but this is 5 star cheese and service every time!
Best selection of cheese, David Brown is amazing, the Chev, all worth a look in!
Nice drive getting there but that were it ends unfortunatly there is not much on offer when you get there.
Very very overrated.
Charged 10$ per person for a tasting when booking and stated that it is redeemable on purchase.
Didn't tell us until we arrived and had paid that it is only if 30$ minimum spend - per voucher. With most in store items being very over priced - even local goods 30% higher.
The tasting itself was also very rushed, felt like a conveyor belt with all tiny portions pushed through and we were encouraged to leave after 9 mins.
Not to mention the actual quality of cheese wasn't that great.
Very disappointed to be honest.
Wow wow and wow, absolutely beautiful. The place is well planned out and well positioned in the Milawa community. The customer service here is great with a smile, compliments to the band who are playing some soft blues and mixed music while you're enjoying a quiet meal. The cheese would have to be one of the best I've ever tasted, with a great variety to choose from. Nice relaxed atmosphere, child friendly.
