Today I visited to Milawa to go to the aptly named Milawa Cheese Factory. This is a great example as to how you can convert a cheese factory into a successful tourist destination

It has a lovely cafe, a cheese shop where you can sample their wares (the aged blue
vein particularly tickled my palate) and a cellar door offering local wines.

Sadly their cheese platter was far too large for one and would not travel well in a car on a hot day so in this instance I did not buy anything. Certainly a nice place to visit though.

Very very expensive. Ordered on sandwich, one coke and one lemon lime and bitters, $23.00. The sandwich was small, not enough for two to split. Will come back for the cheeses, but would not come back for any food. One star is still over rated.

This company make beautiful cheese and the staff work extremely hard. I applied for a position at Milawa a little while ago and was lucky enough to get a trial and was paid for the 4 hours worked. The only disappointment was, that I was not successful in the position of cheese wrapper and I thought that I worked very well. I felt because I am an older person i may have missed out on the position. Us older workers deserve a chance as well as the young, and we just want to work, but thanks anyway.

Nice self guided take away cheese tasting platter meant we didn't have to book. And with the large grassed area out the front, we were able to sit and enjoy the cheese in the shade of a tree before going back to buy our favourites.
Winery, cafe and gift shop were all there too so we stayed for lunch and a wine tasting.
A second visit had me trying the guided tasting and another lunch inside the cafe. Warm, great atmosphere, good music played loud enough to hear, but no two loud that you couldn't easily converse. Food was tasty and we headed back to the shop for some of the cheese we had tasted.

Make nice cheeses with a variety of cow and goat cheeses. Other local produce also for sale. Good you are able to do tastings. Buy a few things and receive a cool pack to travel with.

We visited again last week on our drive pass. As with our previous visits, it was certainly worth visiting. Lovely range of cheese and local produce. We sampled a few of their goat cheeses before purchasing. Their cafe seem to have had a lovely makeover, beautifully set up, comfortable chairs, excellent tea & coffee. Highly recommend visiting if you’re in the area

Milawa cheese has just sent another awesome Cheese Club delivery and what amazes me is the efficiency of the online service they provide. They are very professional and taylor your order with their amazing cheeses and other products. Next day delivery from Milawa to Robinvale arrived with all ice bricks all frozen. Amazing Cheese and awesome service.service. Highly recommended.

Just experienced for the first time Milawa Goat's Camembert and what a delight, certainly get the Goat's flavour, with a glass of Soave. I'm in heaven right now.

My husband and I visited Brown Brothers Winery and enjoyed a cheese platter from Milawa Cheese on January 11th 2023. We decided to visit the factory as we enjoyed their cheese. We spent $80 on cheese with plans to enjouy them on Australia day. We just got back from our holiday and the cheese was packed in paper. I unpacked it and found they are all out of date already. This is extremely disappointing to be paying full price for cheese so close to its use by date. After reading the reviews this sounds like a common thing for them. I also sent them a message expressing my disappointment and they did not acknowledge my message. I understand it wasn't out of date when purchased but never have I purchased cheese with less then 2 weeks use by, perhaps they should advise the customer if they are wrapping it in paper and therefore the use by date is not visible.

Absolutely delightful place to have a glass of wine and a delicious cheese platter. Eclectic selection of comfy sofas on a huge patio outside. Nice and dog friendly. Just make sure to hedge your bets on the cheese - not everyone likes all the strong tastes that are on offer)

We visited Milawa cheese for a tasting and was complimented by our hotel of a free cheese platter. Unfortunately when we received this it had walnuts on it and my wife is allergic. Staff member Kelly went out of her way to cater for her allergies. Kelly made a complete new platter for her, it was a super friendly and pleasant visit. Would not hesitate to go again and buy some more cheese. Kelly made the experience even more pleasant!

Lovely place to visit. Unfortunately for me, the cheeses were only ok with no vintage type or sweet types of cheese. Mainly Brie or Camembert style with some of the Blue varieties. A little disappointing but worth a visit.

Cheese shop is great. The Cafe is confusing to order with a limited menu. Items "out of stock" only to be "in stock" 20 mins later. Chicken pie was tastless, and pastry fell apart. Would not return.

Amazing cheese from a local producer. The cheddar had so much flavour and was nice and creamy. It is fortunate that they are a long way from home

Anyone who doesn’t love the cheese here is a maniac. The range is incredible. The blue cheese is the best blue cheese I’ve eaten in my life. Love, love, love!

Beautiful cheeses, jams, pestos and more! We had some yummy iced cream and cured hams. Excited to eat our cheese when we get home!

While we enjoyed the cheese tasting and made our selection, we were disappointed to find the best before date was less than a week from our purchase on all the varieties. The rind on the goats milk Camembert was turning orange and no where near the luscious softness we experienced in the tasting.

Came here as part of the Tour de Vine’s Self-Guided Cycling Tours from Beechworth. They will set up the cheese board for you, which has a great selection of different types of cheeses, crackers & grapes.

There is a wine shop right next door, so you can also do some wine tasting.
