Our family had an absolutely fantastic experience at Michu Korean Charcoal BBQ in Melbourne! Great Korean BBQ restaurant, authentic charcoal BBQ, if you love Korean BBQ, must try a BBQ set menu with Korean soju. I spent and enjoyed over 3 hours of Korean BBQ and Soju. The gas BBQ cannot beat the charcoal BBQ. Highly recommended. I want to go again

I had to come back and revise my review and downgrade it from 5 stars to 4. Once upon a time, about 10 years ago (back when they had the chef with the big yellow Hummer and his girlfriend Bo Young out the front), Michu was a star. While most other Korean BBQ's used gas, Michu used charcoal. They were cheap for the amount of quality food that you got. We loved going there.

But in 2022, there are new Korean BBQ's around. Michu in the meantime, has gotten more expensive, the menu has changed, and they have a new chef who is quite decent but not quite as good as the old one. They still use charcoal, and the front of house staff are as friendly as before. And the rice is still fantastic. But the meat isn't that great.

Don't get me wrong, Michu is still an excellent restaurant, but not quite 5 stars. Why go there when for the same money you could go to the competition in Box Hill which is newer and offers better food? (apart from the horrible parking in Box Hill).

Fantastic smaller place for KBBQ, that maintains quality. Slightly pricier than most other Korean BBQ restaurants but worth it for quality and service. Not the friendliest seating for large groups, but nicely designed interior. Would recommend.

Great produce cooked with care. The sets provide a lot of food. If you're not a big eater you can order one serving less (3 sets for 4 people).

My usual go to for Korean BBQ. They use charcoal to grill the meat and the waiter will come to the table to cook the meat. Recommended.

The food was extra tasty because of the charcoal. This is a great experience as someone is doing all the work for you.

Authentic Korean cuisine. Delicious food and great service, reasonably priced for such an experience. Highly recommend this place to everyone.

The food is great, the prices are relly high, many other Korean restaurants that are CHEAPER, but, as i say the food and service is great, and will continue to go there, just be aware of the prices

The best Korean restaurant in Melbourne, even in Australia! Food is really tasty - I enjoyed every single bite of every meal - I have tried a number of dishes - all are exceptionally great. Considering the quality, the price is even really good too. Authentic/delicious Korean food! Highly recommend it!

Tasty food. Had a set of $70 for 2 people on Sunday night. Great portion. Staffs are really friendly. Cozy and cute place.

On a Thursday night only us and another table dining in which was very quiet. We have ordered BBQ grilled sirloin, ox tongue and kimchi pancake was average. The fried chicken was yum.

Food menu has no dessert which was a bit disappointed!

Hands down one of the best Korean restaurants in Melbourne. And I'm not just talking about the BBQ. Everything we had from the side dishes and kimchi pancake and salad to the soybean soup had the chef's own unique take and taste. Very delicious.

Went for dinner with the mrs, restaurant was very quiet, only us in the restaurant. Ordered the set for 2 for $100, got chicken wings, tofu stew, salad, steamed rice, corn, short rib meat, scotch fillet and bulgogi. Everything was delicious, chicken wings nice and crispy with beautiful sticky sweet glaze, tofu stew was spicy with silky tofu, salad dressing was delish, corn was delish with the nice melted cheese and cream like taste and the meats were cooked beautifully and accompanied with the sauces was excellent. Our host cooked the meat and was very attentive. Overall loved this place, very curious to know why it wasn’t busy at all, just us, hope this place last and succeeds
