Memorial Arch at Eastern View reviews
38 Place for kayaking and boating. This is a quality location with great views off shore and back to the bushes. Different tour companies runs tours periodically where you can ascend the dizzying heights to get an even better view. Plenty of history to this place, must go. I would definitely recommend it to anyone travelling to Australia.
One can also plan for overnight stay. This location have multiple accommodation. In off season, anyone can look for cheap accommodations
Perfect spot to pose and take a photo with the Great Ocean Road Arch on the background. But that's it. Lots of cars stopping by. Limited parking spaces.
Great place to take photos and enjoy the breeze wind of the sea. Perfect road to have a low budget honeymoon trip
The beginning of Great Ocean Road, need 2 or full days to really explore the attractions. Stay a night at Port Campbell or Apollo Bay to watch sunrise.
A must stop place for the trip on Great Ocean Road. The Arch signify the beginning of the Great Ocean Road constructed by Australian vateran soldiers returned between 1919 and 1932. The road is Australia National Heritage and covered 243km between Torquay, Victoria and Allan's Ford, Victoria.
Second time visiting this memorial arch. It always seems to be busy and hard to find parking. It is more of a historical place than a tourist one. Although, there is a small entrance to beach besides it. It is a good place to take a stroll or take photos.
Historical site and 5 stars for it.
3 stars are given to the council and government who needs to act better in creating better parking options here as the bloody (some) owners living across the road take pics for cars parked in the bus stop (it does not bother residents but some would still want to become Inspectors themselves). There's not much parking and you don't want to miss this Historical site where The Australian Soldiers are given bit of respect, Most people won't know who built this road even if they have travelled here more than once.
Govt.and Council needs to have this place properly organised possibly like a proper tourist site, plenty of proper parking, may be a little ice cream hut or snack items giving tourists a reason to Stop and understand/respect hard work put in by War returned soldiers!
Bus stop that takes you to Train station should be removed from here, this Place should only be for tourists and history.
Great Ocean road entry point. Not much to eat here. Make sure to grab something from Lorne before you hit the ground running. You can also visit anglesea beach before reaching this point (when you are driving east to west)
A very common arch with historical importance that makes a brief stop for photos on the way to Great Ocean Road Trip
Curvy coastal road showing footsteps of history with blue ocean on one side & green forest on other. You can't expect more from any road trip. Worth going everytime. Few winter days can be avoided due to windy conditions.
Nice photo op of great ocean road arch. Memorial to the builders of the road. Short walk through the bushes to nice beach.
An excellent memorial to our service men and women!
Fallen & returned!
Supported by glorious ocean views and fresh air!
Beginning of the journey to Great Ocean Road.
Be careful when you take a photo, because there are many cars driving pass.
I am so glad they keep replacing this arch each time it is destroyed. Acknowledging the support given to our returned service personnel and their contributions to our country is worth noting.
There is not much to see here but if one would like to take a picture, can take a short break from riding and hang around for a while here.
The beginning of the great ocean road with the significant great ocean road signage. History on how the GOR was built. Not much parkings here though. But there’s a beach down the parking area which offers really magnificent view of the beach horizon. Not sure if it’s safe for surfing but there was practically nobody here when we were there.
A highly significant area that everyone should see and experience. The memorials and tributes are well done.
