My daughter started going attending class since April last year, she loves it. It has given her confidence in her writing and brings her so much joy.

My two daughters (ages 9 and 10) have been attending Melbourne Young Writers Studio (previously Creative Write-It) with the same teachers for over two years now - first the school holiday program then a regular weekly class.

After all that time, they love it with such enthusiasm that even after we moved from the area they are happy to travel for 90 minutes to get there on public transport every school school hols, and a nightmarish 45 minutes across the Westgate for each weekday class.and I think it’s valuable enough to be worth the making the trip!

Not only has it fostered their passion for writing and expanded their craft, it’s also given them a deep sense of pride, particularly when they see their writing in the annual published compilation of short stories. AND they are both completely inspired by their teachers, who are fantastic role models both as writers themselves and as lovely people.

I must admit that I was extremely wary and sceptical of an online course. Writers Studio caught my attention many times before I decided to go for it. Through all my doubting a little not so quiet voice said, "Feel the fear and do it anyway. So I succumbed and I am so very glad that I did.
I have completed the 4-Week Unlocking Creativity AND the 6-Week Short Story and Script Online Course. One of the benefits that I noticed is my improved writing skill, ability and confidence. The course kept me accountable and inspired to write and complete each submission. All of the feedback from students and Tutors assisted greatly with the learning and that added value to the course also. The tutors and staff are professional and a pleasure to deal with. Throughout both courses, I wrote in total eight complete short stories, which both surprised and encouraged me.
I decided to jump in and participate in the 10-month novel and script first draft online course!
One of the short stories I wrote has the potential to develop into a novel. I have moved further forward with my writing than I ever thought I would in a short period of time. So here goes.
I haven't regretted my decision from the start. In fact I give myself a pat on the back for diving in. Thank you Writers Studio for the opportunity to expand my writing goals.

My daughter has enjoyed several semesters at MYWS (was Creative WriteIt) and both my children have taken part in holiday programs. Seeing the enthusiasm and confidence in creative writing grow has been fantastic and the supportive, creative environment and team make sure it is always fun, interesting and challenging.

My daughter Blanca has been attending the Melbourne young writers studio for over a year now! She absolutely loves it and her writing has improved out of sight! The teachers are excellent and kind role models for her and every Saturday she is desperate to attend her class! Blanca's teachers at school have remarked on how much her writing has improved since she started at this wonderful studio! Thanks so much Bonnie, Cat and Gabe! It's an absolute pleasure to see you every Saturday!
