Exceptional in every way. After attending the book launch this year, and meeting the beautiful people who run MYWS, I am more than ever feeling so blessed that my son is part of this extraordinary learning portal. Thank you all so much for the quality of your lessons, you all shine with such joy, love and commitment for our kids.

A wonderfully enchanting place where children (& adults) are invited to unleash their creativity through writing. My 10yo thoroughly enjoyed the class, learning so much within the hour.
Great price and the teachers are highly experienced in different genres of creative writing.

A great place for kids to take their writing skills to the next level. My son's writing has improved, he has recently won a writing competition thanks to the skills he has learned from the Team @ Melbourne Young Writers' studio.

Timmy, Bonnie and the team have been excellent tutors for our 10y/o son over the last few years. We especially notice an increase in our son's enjoyment of stories, and his keen attention to details of the characters.

This welcoming studio is quite a find and our kids (aged 8 and 10) love coming here to write, even my 8 year old son who was a very reluctant writer before starting here. The tutors are awesome and it's just a lovely space.

Procrastination is the thief of time! How true this is! For years I had dithered, half starting a story then abandoning it because life and all it entails was a powerful distraction. Then I signed up to the Writers Studio and all of a sudden I had a focus. The structure of the course kept me on track, it enthused me and made my writing become my first focus and all the other bits that make up a day, secondary. I still went to work, cleaned the house etc, but in a secret part of my brain, my stories, plots, characters and imagery took on a life of their own- keeping me company as I performed the tedious chores and responsibilities of my daily routine. The course timetable slotted easily into my busy life- probably because I dedicated the spare time that I usually wasted, on something far more precious- Writing! As I submitted each piece of writing the feedback from fellow writers on the course would both encourage me and anchor me. I, in turn, would give feedback to others, which was a fantastic exercise, as it reinforced the themes and structures that we had been shown. Feedback from the tutor felt like words from your favourite teacher. Their guidance was extremely useful and constructive. By the end of my second course (short story course) I really felt as if I'd begun to master some important techniques in the structure of a story. I learned so much about some of the skills required, but most importantly I have learnt the difference between showing rather than telling- a skill that I will continue to work on as I enter the next course with the Writers Studio- Novel & Script first draft.

Sometimes we scan information so quickly, often just moving on without too much thought. I nearly did when an advertisement popped up for The Writers’ Studio, Unlocking Creativity 4 week course. I’m so pleased that I allowed my fingers and mind to settle for a minute. The course provides a safe and fertile space for beginner to advanced writers to rediscover a love of imagination. You learn techniques and hints to overcome stagnation, build complex characters and basic story structure, all the time enjoying the process and having fun. Using the writers’ board during the course allows you to read, provide support and generous feedback to fellow participants, and it’s where your tutor gives enthusiastic and comprehensive reviews of submitted work. The course is very detailed and flies by too quickly. Many thanks to my most outstanding tutor Annie, without you encouragement I may never have signed for further courses with the Writers’ Studio. It’s truly wonderful!

My daughter has recieved endless support and has improved her writing phenomenally. Thank you so much for helping her achieve this. She loves this class so much and the teachers are exeptional. The holiday programs are great for meeting other young writers outside of your class and are an awesome experience. I would highly recommend to anybody who wants their child to have a great time while simultaneously learning so much. Melbourne young writes sudio is a definite pick for everyone!

The studio is a great place for children to discover and hone their creative talents in a friendly and encouraging atmosphere. The staff are also dedicated writing professionals with industry experience who are keen to pass on their craft knowledge to young minds and inspire them with the same passion and excitement for storytelling that they have.
